Venus(Mom) - Wow!!! The food was so amazing! They were also very accommodating for me since I am gluten free. Troy(oldest son) - this place is an excellent example of the phrase "it's what's on the inside that counts." Nothing flashy on the outside but the food and flavor combinations were like nothing I've ever tried, and I'm from a city of diversity, Los Angeles :) Ty(coolest son) - This food was spectacular. My favorite food is a philly cheese steak and I've already tried 3 different ones this weekend but this one was by far the best. It also tasted more natural and less greasy then the other ones. I highly recommend this place if you want high quality food. Emerald(youngest child) I would give this place 10 stars if I could but sadly I can only give it 5.

We tried three dishes: Chicken wrap, fish and chips, and the meatloaf set The haddock was a bit heavy for the summer, though definitely crispy. The fries were flavored with thyme, which gave it a nice aroma, but they were a bit soggy for my taste. The meatloaf was a tad soft.. Personally I would prefer a more sturdy texture. The chicken wrap was great! Freshly grilled chicken with veggie in a wrap. Perfect for the summer. Would def recommend to anyone who happens to pass by! Lovely place.

Harvest chicken salad with blood orange vinaigrette - WOW !!!

What a lucky find !!! Everything was so fresh and tasty. The Harvest Salad with blood orange vinaigrette was wonderful, the grits cooked perfectly, the haddock had great seasoning, and the fries were homemade and perfect. And the sticky bun... OMG. While we were there an Amish gentleman delivered ham steaks and scrapple - it doesn't get more local. Everyone was friendly and we can't wait to go back. I wish we lived closer !!

Loved this placed! Stopped here with the assumption it was a little coffee shop, which maybe offered muffins and scones. A pleasant surprise that we had so many hot breakfast and lunch options. Its only about a mile from the Bald Eagle State Park campground areas. The service was fast and efficient, coffee was hot and tasty, and the portion sizes were fabu! We'll be making this a must-stop anytime we visit Bald Eagle.

The recent menu has a great diversity of options ranging from salads, sandwiches, and entrees. I elected to go with the Birra ramen, not something I would expect to find at this establishment or in this neck of the woods. I was knocked back at how good it was. The broth had rich flavor and the right amount of spice, not enough to burn your mouth, but warm it up and tingle your lips. The beef was tender and cooked to perfection. It hit the spot on a chilly winter night. If you find yourself in the gap and looking for spot to grab a good hearty bite to eat and drink, the Red Horse is your spot!

It's very family friendly so expect lots of kids and not a lot of supervision. The food I've had was fine- it's a brewery so I don't expect fine dining. The beer is mid from what I'm told. Due to this, they only had fans to keep cool while circulating the outdoor air. Since we had our pup with us, we were only able to sit in the patio area, but it's not like the "indoor" area was really indoors. Anyways, I wasn't in the mood for drinking, so just had some lunch here. There's two restaurants combined at the food counter (which used to be food trucks here). You can get pizza from pizza and subs from Flo Bros Pizza and wings, burgers and sandwiches from Marin Eats. I had the Crabcake Sandwich ($15) with Tots (+$2). The sandwich was solid and tots were crispy. It's a nice space to hang out with a group. There are pinball machines, cornhole, and games for entertainment. It's nicely situated next to a creek, so you get a bit of nature too.

For some reason, I just recently visited this place for the first time and man -- I'm mad I didn't come sooner. I like burgers -- I like them traditional style, smashed, and with various accoutrements. The State has all of that covered. The restaurant is in a cool historic building and they've preserved some of that history while adding updates to give the place a nice and trendy feel. The staff were friendly and super helpful. You order on a piece of paper by selecting the patty type and size, the bun type and a boat load of sauces, toppings and other fixins. Reminds me of the old school way of ordering an MTO at Sheetz (for anyone that gets that reference). Beyond the burger we tried a milk shake, the fresh cut fries and onion rings. My first visit was spectacular. For two of us our bill was under $30 -- which was beyond reasonable. State Burger -- I think you've nailed it and I can't wait to come back!
