My friend and I met here for brunch today, and since I'm rarely in Lock Haven, it was so delightful to walk into a coffee shop with natural lighting and staff who was delightfully encouraging. I got a Strawberry Pinacolada smoothie that sent me right back to when I was a kid back in Idaho when my mom would take me to a little smoothie place out there. I was also delightfully surprised by an amazing breakfast sandwich on a cheddar jalapeño bagel with pesto, bacon, ham, cheese and egg. It really hit the spot. I plan to come back soon! read more

Wow, in town for a few days and missing my at home daily double shot to espresso Happened in mid-afternoon, not sure if there is a seat in the establishment that the upholstery/clean plastics warp is not torn and well worn. I'm a simple person one double espresso. No cream and certainly no sweetener. The "double" that will get you change for a $5ski is not even close to a 30ML single shot. Please charge more if needed to deliver a real double 60ML serving. It was either over temped or over extracted because it had the bitterness of cheap spirits. On the only positive note, service was fast and efficient. If you ever wanted to stop drinking coffee, this place could help with that. read more

Best coffee shop in Lock Haven! I haven been going to Avenue for coffee, tea, bagels, and treats since 2014. Perfect place to catch up with friends or to get some studying in! Love that the tables have a clear protection for people to put their artwork on display. The beans are locally roasted and delicious. I've been loving the specialty drinks and love to see what new menu items are available when in town visiting. This will forever be my favorite coffee shop to stop at when visiting home! read more

Avenue 209 is a charming spot on Bellefonte Avenue just outside Lock Haven's downtown. The shop offers a variety of coffee items (hot and cold) as well as some baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, and pastries. My companion and I visited several times over the past week or so since our usual coffee spot (Dunkin) was closed for renovation. The coffee was consistently good at each visit, as well as the bagels that I sampled. Service was exceptionally friendly though there can be a line during peak morning hours. Prices were reasonable and on par with similar establishments. The shop is cozy with lots of exposed brick, comfy seating, and works from local artists. Avenue 209 is most definitely worth a stop if you are in Lock Haven and want to support a local business. read more

They have a nice little space. Many coffee shops are cramped, but this one has an open layout with ten tables of varying sizes and a five-seat counter facing the street. I was in between 9-11, and it had a steady beat of people coming in and a number of tables filled at all times. Loved the owner? humming to his own tunes, even over the piped in music. There's a little stage, and I understand they occasionally have some live music. Just wish they had a regular black tea for someone like me. ;-) read more

We had such a lovely experience here during a road trip. It's about 10mi north of I-80, and is such a welcome respite for coffee lovers. The person working the counter was welcoming and friendly, really polite, and made great coffee. The place is cute as a button with great decor. 10/10 would recommend if you're tired of the same-old Dunkin-Starbucks struggle on road trips. This is a great place for relaxing with laptop (my favorite hobby). The music is not too loud, they don't blast the AC, but it's cool enough on warm days. The staff are friendly and easy to get to know. If you're hungry, they are experts with the toaster oven. Amazing what they can turn out. Let me begin by saying this place is better then the average Starbucks and DD. they have plenty of choices of flavored lattes and coffees. I ordered a mix of the chocolate mocha latte and I was not disappointed one bit. I tried the midnight caramel ice cream and it was tasty as well. Pricing seems similar to a Starbucks. This place has a decent sitting area and offers free wifi for all you cyber freaks. They also make small bagel sandwiches if you get a little hungry. This is a small quite town, so this spot definitely lightens it up a bit. I would recommend grabbing a quick cup of joe and relaxing and doing some work or grab a book to read. I was driving through this area (from the Fingerlakes back to Pittsburgh) & desperately wanted some coffee that wasn't Dunkin Donuts. I was very pleased when I saw this shop & was even more impressed when I went inside. The baristas were super friendly, there were plenty of socially distanced tables, and they even had a little selection of comic books they were selling. Stopped here for something warm on Black Friday. When we stopped there was a hand full of customers but not too packed. The place is very charming and has great seating for singles or a big group. I was wanting their hot cider they had a sign for, but alas they were out of it. I opted for the Chai latte and boy am I glad I did. It was really good and the cinnamon design on top was a nice touch. The menu has an assortment of all the typical coffee house drinks and it also has sandwich and snack options. The sandwiches sounded really good, but we had eaten a late breakfast and weren't in the mood to eat. They also have a stage for live music, & I would love to check it out when they have local artists. The staff is super friendly and they got my drink out to me quickly. Wow! Excellent coffee, which after all is where all excellence comes from, yes? We ordered several varieties. And they came in real cups and were all excellent. Had the chocolate chip cookie, which was huge! They heated it up for me too! So yummy! The I also got the truffle latte. Price was not too bad. Spent about $6.00 on their largest latte and the cookie. They serve the latte in a nice big mug! :) will be back for sure. read more

Instead of going to Starbucks at Clarion University Clarion stop at 209 Avenue coffeehouse in Lockhaven. It is a much better. It has all the vibe and good taste you need. Cute quaint home town coffee house with great service. The husband and wife that run the counter and act like baristas look like Mr and Mrs. Claus. Lots of flavors and options. Espressos were good hit the spot and fueled our road trip. Way better than DD the only other option in this town. Not as good as Starbucks though. read more

What can I say? It is a coffee shop. My only complaint is the coffee is overpriced (but is that really surprising?) and the acoustics in the room are terrible. Sound bounces and echoes around in there. When you add people, the room gets loud very quickly. Other than that, if you get there when the crowd is light, you can chill for a bit. Stopped in while I was waiting for my girlfriend to get done work. It was either drive to here for 4 minutes or go to a student lounge. I am glad I came here. This place is awesome! The atmosphere is top notch, a very friendly owner and excellent coffee ( I got the "Mountain Man" brew) the decor is very eclectic. For tables they use old wood wire spools and what looks like old church pews or train station wooden benches. The have some nice wooden stools and chairs to go along with 50s 60s style lounge chairs. I don't live near hear but if I am ever in the area again I would most defiantly stop by. read more
