I have dealt with many contractors when we built our home 20 plus years ago in another state. I acted as my own general contractor on the project. I have to say that by far Barron is the absolute best contractor that I have ever had work for me. This was no small job. It required stripping back to the studs in places. Rebuilding support under shower floor and stripping floor to subfloor. Francisco is a master craftsman in everything that he does whether it is installation of tile, replacing wallboard, carpentry or painting. He is an absolute artist creating niches and benches in the shower and creating exact shower size that we wanted not dependent on pre made pans and products that other contractors were proposing in their bids. Selena is the designer and communicator of the team and she kept us constantly informed on everything about the project. She was the most responsive of any contractor we have ever worked with. She also helped in the design aspects always finding exactly what we wanted and striving to save us money whenever possible. The end result far exceeded our expectations at a very fair price. Installed tile flooring and stone countertops onto an existing subfloor and beams that were never designed to hold that much weight, and now the cabinets, countertops and drywall are separating as the floor settles. Every repair person that comes through the house tries to politely tell us how poorly everything was done. One of the toilets was not properly installed and has now ruined the hardwood flooring in the first floor. During the buying process, they stated that they would come out to fix anything that needed touched up as it was a recent renovation, however they have refused to answer the phone or return any calls. Avoid at all costs.

He went up on the price 3 times after we were to far in to walk away. It took him over a a year to build a little ranch house that was only 1400 sqft with no custom designs. He meet with us 10 months in to tell us about he had no money was making no money that he would have to use his kids college fund to finish. Chris waited until the day we were meeting to choose flooring and such to let us know that he didn't have the money to go any further. He used our house to store items and to work on other projects to get him money. I have never been homeless until we started dealing with him. You have to be careful to watch him he will go cheap. Also everything that goes wrong is never his fault. He gave us all this song and dance of everything Durham City could do to him as if it was personal. He is a average not great by no means of a contractor but less that bad on handling his business side. He needed to continue working under someone before he jumped out on his own financially. He swore he wouldn't; work in Durham and guess what he is building a house right behind me. I know the pandemic happen to us all but we were supposed to close 3 different times that was months apart so it was his lack of money because prices went up, however we went up. It was not our fault that he lowed balled himself and pushed it on us. Had her started work when he was supposed to we wouldn't have been so far behind. My personal experience with him emotionally and financially is a 1. His quality of house is a 7. Due to all the rushing he had to do, because of his negligence.

He was so patient with helping us pick out a new floor color, he put 6 different colors down for us to choose from....and when we came back from vacation it was like walking into a brand new house, he did an excellent job. He worked again for us this month as we remodeled our kitchen. He wove in new white oak hardwood planks where we had walls removed, sanded it so we could get cabinets in, then came back after we had cabinets installed and finished them. The new flooring blends into the old beautifully. Rey does great work, worked with us on a tight time table and even offered to come back and fix any thing that might happen to the floors after we moved appliances in. We would highly recommend him.
