My experience with Ken was seriously one of my worst experiences with any contractor. I had Ken come out to look at some work on a Lake House that had a new roof that had developed a leak and caused damage inside. Ken pushed me to contact my insurance company for coverage versus doing a self pay. We did and Ken then disappeared and ghosted us once we made it clear we wanted to repair the roof and not replace it. Ken wanted the insurance company to foot a whole new roof to fatten his pocket. Seriously, I am not sure everything is always above board with this guy. Stay far far away. Richmond has many good roofers versus this ambulance chaser or a roofer. read more

I advise you to not hire Kenneth daniels.i was suppose to have a shingle roof. After they said the work was done my roof continued to leak over my deck. I paid one of his workers to repair it with tin after lowering it and it did not work because he claim it was not enough slope on it so I had to put tin on it and I told stopped. After the claim they finish I could still see daylight. Unused material was left in my yard that he claim was a mistake on the order. As a result of the leak I fell and bruised my tailbone. One of his workers came out and told me he was told to come out and tear shingles off my roof and I told him NO I had real wind damage and needed my rood repaired. If anyone has had a similar issue please contact me because we have an open case and i wiĺ be going to the state and make a claim against fraud. After waiting 3 months for a color match for our roof, the roof repair was finally completed and the shingles DON'T MATCH! When we contacted Ken about it, we were told "that was the match" and it obviously is not. All you have to do is go by our house! It definitely is not a match! Very disappointed. read more

I found Kenneth Daniel Roofing through Facebook via a post the owner (Ken) made. I contacted the office to set up an appointment for an estimate. The rep Joe came out on time and gave an estimate on site which was a positive. However, he did not go over any of the material used, warranty info or any information about their company. Additionally, their written estimates are very vague in nature. For example on the standing seam estimate it doesn't list the type of standing seam used (snap lock, mechanically seamed, etc.) or the gauge of the metal so you don't know what you are paying for. Another example, on the shingle estimate the box was checked for metal drip edge and starter strips but it doesn't specify if they are used on all eaves and rakes, etc. Without a detailed estimate it can be up to interpretation. After Joe came out I reached back out to the owner Ken via Facebook Messenger on May 26th to ask him for options on venting our roof as we have a unique venting situation. He was responsive and reached out to his GAF rep and found a solution and gave me the GAF reps contact info. I reached back out Ken on June 1st to ask how I get an updated estimate with the venting option he provided as there was no venting on the original estimate. Additionally, I asked about ice and water shield in the transition areas and low pitch roofs as there was no ice and water shield on the estimate either. Ken asked that I send him a photo of the original estimate and stated that the estimate should have included these items and he would have Joe reach back out to me to get it fixed. By June 6th I had not heard from Joe so I called the office in the morning and left a message as the estimate did not have Joes contact info on it. I stated that I was wanting to move forward with hiring their company but Joe had not reached out to me with an updated estimate per my conversation with Ken. I called back that afternoon as I had not heard from anyone. The office manager said she did send my message along to Joe. On June 7th Joe called me. He stated he had spoken with Ken about the missing items and stated he was pretty sure he included them but would need to check. Instead of having the updated estimate or checking to make sure he did include the missing info but forgot to check the boxes on the estimate he was only calling to set a time for the next day for me to sign the contract and provide a check. After several times of him pushing to do this, I told him we could figure a time to meet to sign everything AFTER he provided the correct estimate. He said he would get back with me with the updated estimate. He never did. Two weeks later on June 20th I called Joe. He said that the owner Ken was supposed to take care of sending the new estimate and would check on it. Joe sent me the estimate later that day via email in which the estimate had increased by almost $600. I replied to Joe's email and copied the email address on the estimate (which seemed to be the owners Ken's email address) with simple questions I had (ie do you install the drip edge and started shingles on both rakes and eaves, how far down from the roof ridge would the venting be, etc.). I did not get a response. On June 23rd I texted my questions directly to Joe which his phone gave an immediate "read" receipt. Still no response. On June 28th I reached back out to the owner Ken via Facebook Messenger expressing my concerns with Joe as I had been trying to move forward with hiring his company but Joe was making it impossible as he would never follow up and that I would like to work with someone else. Facebook Messenger showed Ken read the message a few hours later. It is not July 5th and no response from Ken or anyone from Kenneth Daniel Roofing. I had full intentions of hiring Kenneth Daniel Roofing but it is impossible when you have a rep who does not get back with you when he says he will but wants you to sign and give a deposit on an incorrect estimate and an owner who ignores you when you express your concerns with his employees. If it is this hard to give a company your business I can't imagine how difficult it would be if you hired them and had an issue as the owner doesn't seem to care. Needless to say I will be sharing my experience with the BBB, social media reviews and GAF directly. read more
