Contractor was very focused on doing a good job in spite of front office dysfunction. Lack customer service, lack professionalism and lack basic business skill. Offered a post project review. Let me begin with, I'm keeping this brief. I have already wasted too much time and energy and to no avail in an attempt to rectify not only one but two problems at two different location. Kitchen Tune-Up has been completely uncooperative in finding a remedy to my issues. They do not stand by their product. They have a complete lack of communicative skills not only with their customers but also between themselves and their own hired subcontractors. They do not find themselves accountable for any mistakes on the job site even though they are there supervising. The office manager is completely unprofessional expecting you as the client to address problems with the contractors that they in fact hired. What a joke of a company! The woman at the front desk is extremely rude! I called on 3/16/21 and made an appointment for 3/22/21 with Michelle to meet at the office. I arrived a few minutes early on 3/22/21 and told the woman at the desk I had an appointment. She rudely informed me that I was not on the schedule and then as ignorant as anything told me I had an appointment scheduled for Monday 3/17/21. When I mentioned that 3/17/21 was actually Wednesday, so again very rudely spoke to me. I decided to leave and not be talked to in a rude and ignorant manner. The previous homeowners had the entire kitchen refaced along with new cabinet doors, pullouts, etc., paid around $15,000. When we moved in the work was less than 2 years old. We also were told the warranty was transferable and shortly after moving in was informed by KTU it wasn't. The facing was bubbling up, the panels were coming off the side cabinets, the top of the draw facing is coming off, in short it was a mess. We also had a refrigerator panel installed to match the rest of the cabinets and shortly afterwards the panels on the refrigerator panel was bubbling and now are coming off the surface We are in the process of having the entire kitchen ripped out, TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY. The owner Jeff is arrogant and condescending when you talk to him. Appears the staff, including Linda follows the owner's demeanor. They are unresponsive and totally unreliable, they don't show up as scheduled, and when they do they don't have the required materials to do the job. Please do yourself a big favor and NEVER reface your cabinets and please read the published negative reviews. I would not recommend this company. The project was to take a week. However, the completion was three months later. In addition, there needed to be better measurements that delayed the completion of this project. The whole process was extremely frustrating and time-consuming. I definitely would NOT recommend this company, or their newfangled "spin-off" company, Bath Tuneup. In the beginning it seemed promising; I met with a designer who seemed to understand my vision and offered helpful information. The job was a remodel of a small typical powder room in a townhouse. Although I provided the designer with specific photographs of features I was seeking, such as a very specific type of wainscoting, the WRONG wainscoting was installed. I was told from the get-go that a very simple pedestal sink would not be a problem, only to find that AFTER it was delivered (damaged) it would NOT work. I then had to order a vanity sink that I did NOT want, which was obviously much more expensive and delayed the project even more. The contractor was more interested in drumming up his own business on other potential projects in my house, like a used car salesman. The job took FIVE months from start to end (rendering the powder room unusable for the majority of the time, until the toilet was installed). The lights I selected were on back order (Had I known this up front, I would have just gone to Lowes and picked some up myself). Details were overlooked;, for example, when the new door was hung, they used the wrong color hinges, which we had to buy ourselves and rehang the door. We were told by the contractor to just "take care of it ourselves". Finally, the paperwork and the work orders were not readily available and the way that the work was itemized was not clear at all. The receptionist was rude from the get-go, and reluctant to re-email important paperwork when I told her I did not receive it. They need to be more transparent in the way they itemize the bill. In short, the labor is WAY overpriced. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company like the plague. read more

I do not recommend this business. The final product, except for one item, is what the owner and I had discussed in the planning phase with some quality issues (ex: slightly misaligned cabinet pulls). Overall, I do not have any major complaints about the actual end product. However, the process of getting there was painful and unacceptable to say the least. My kitchen is neither big nor complicated and any good contractor with adequate knowledge should be able to foresee issues that could impact the timeline and should have communicated those to me. The project did not start at the discussed time although the planning happened 2 months prior to the intended start date and I had made it clear to the owner that timing is an important need of mine. When the project finally did start, not enough material was ordered despite a 3-hour planning visit and follow up measurement requests, delaying the work further. The project length in the end was double that originally promoted by the owner during the contract/sales call. 4 dates that I offered to finish the work were turned down making me question available resources. Along with a lack of project management, I perceived there to be a lack of professionalism. Clearing personal items (such as rugs) before starting the work is something I would expect from a professional contractor, but did not happen. Expectations of how much space was needed were not set properly in the beginning leading to frustration and workarounds in my home, esp. with an extended project time schedule. In addition I have to point out that I perceived the owner to be disrespectful towards me at times to a point where I did not allow him into my home anymore. I not once heard a "thank you for being so flexible and allowing us more time to finish the project" from the owner. Instead I heard excuses and never an apology for clearly mismanaged aspects of the project (such as not ordering enough material). The owner now keeps pointing towards the outcome and that the outcome should make me satisfied. He clearly disregards the process how one gets there and the collaboration with and respect for his customers. Again, I cannot recommend this business and would encourage potential customers to look into alternative businesses that offer the same cabinet re-facing mechanism. read more
