Touristy complex of little shops full of things that weren't that local and mostly things that you didn't need, but you were in the mood to shop or were hungry, this place got you but good. We stopped in one shop that was full of jam and jellies. I tried a sample and liked it, but there were no signs of the price. After waiting in line forever, I find out that little jar of specialty jam was $11. Yikes. I walked out buying nothing from the village, but it was entertaining. read more

Sorry to be a Debby Downer amongst all the other positive reviews but in essence this place is a giant overpriced tourist trap.  Essentially this is a one-stop shop for all things Central PA related but from my observation most of this stuff is mass-produced shit that I've seen at a hundred other touristy places such as this. The exception to this being some of the authentic Amish-made wares I saw at some of the shops.  Honestly, the best thing about this place was all the free samples at many of the various overpriced food establishments in here. My rec is a hard pass on this place and leave it to the droves of septuagenarian-filled buses that swamp this place on the daily. read more

Overall I thought the variety of shops was pretty good. The shops are close together and within walking distance of one another. Some of the shops are quite pricey but it just depends on the shop. Most of the staff in the shops were friendly. I thought there would have been more food options/restaurants available. There is plenty of free parking. read more

This review is specifically for the Jam and Relish Kitchen. This was one of the best stores I can ever remember visiting! So much variety to choose from, and free samples of everything! A definite must do shop when visiting this area.... I tried samples of everything... Jams, jellies, salsa, pickles, curds, butters, desserts, hot sauce. I really wanted one of everything to take home but I had to narrow it down to a few selections. We got a large jar of the most delicious pineapple salsa, a jar of Perfect pickle chips, and they had the cutest little mini jars of jams and jellies that you could build your own 6 pack box for only $7.99... Such a great idea! I also tried the cookies from the bakery and they were delicious too! Loved this shop so much if it wasn't over 2 hours away I would be here often... On another note they do have a web site with shipping so that can always be another option... Definitely recommend! read more

KKV is a very Kitchy place. If you are really like handmade items, this is for you! Whenever we come to Lancaster, my wife and I love strolling through the stores here. They have all kinds of unique items! Think of it as an upscale flea market! If you are in the market for jewelry or homemade soaps / candles, this is for you!! My wife and I are not really into that stuff... But we do enjoy walking through it! Everything is locally made. My wife and I love their home made jams and jellies! They are super delicious. We also enjoy getting a bag of freshly popped kettle corn as we stroll through the shops. This time around, it was a less crowded than usual due to covid. Everything was super clean, and the stores made sure that social distancing was enforced. We ended with eating lunch at the sandwich joint. Food was ok, nothing too special! Kitchen Kettle Village is an outdoor shopping village. You can find anything from furniture, home goods, food, etc. There is a large parking lot which is free to park. And if you only visit one shop... PLEASE visit the Jam and Relish Kitchen. This was one of the best stores! Despite COVID, they are still giving samples (all of which were delicious!). This place is a must stop if you're in the area and want to see a taste of country living:)! Open air shopping center with Pygmy goats (twins were born a week ago and are so cute!) The jam store has the most ridiculous amount of unlimited free samples of jams, relishes and pickles I've ever seen! The cheese and meat store across from this also has a ton of unlimited cheese and meat samples to get. The smoked meat sticks are an Amish specialty and really delicious! We even tasted some rare cheeses I've never had before, like Strawberry Chardonnay (tasted liked cheesecake!) We had pretzel wraps (hot dog and ham/Swiss) at Immergut Pretzels (on Rt. 30, not in the center). Totally yummy! read more

At Christmastime, I took my three granddaughters to Kitchen Kettle Village to see Santa. We had gone 4 years ago and throughly enjoyed it. We had breakfast at the diner, then all the Christmas characters came around to the tables with Santa, really terrific. When we went this year however, we got a lesson in greed from the people who had orchestrated the day. We were made to walk through all the stores in the village(to get clues), eventually seeing Santa. It was difficult to do with small children. I have visited this location on several occasions due to its proximity to the hotel where I was staying. I observed that it is quite crowded on Saturdays and holidays, but the foot traffic decreases significantly during weekdays. Additionally, tour groups from other countries frequent this area. This charming, compact outdoor shopping area offers a diverse range of gift shops, coffee shops, snack booths, bakery shops, a meat shop, furniture shops, and a jam shop. Since this location primarily caters to tourists, the prices of goods are higher. The majority of shop owners are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. I thoroughly enjoyed feeding and petting the goats, which are situated on the far right side of the parking lot. read more

My husband and I have been here a zillion times over the many , many years of visiting PA! It didn't use to be so touristy but as time has gone by it's gotten to be a very popular place .It's always extremely crowded with lots of people milling around and way too many tour buses .The many shops here will keep you busy , some being homemade ice cream stand , a florist ,fresh pop corn , coffee shop , a cheese shop and lots more. There is usually a small band playing music in the square giving it a party type atmosphere ! This visit for us is to get some of our favorite foods and stock up . We head right to the Jam and Relish Kitchen . My husband loves their cheese bread and lucky for him they had a few loaves left ! We also enjoy their pineapple salsa and their jams and jellies are all so delicious , with so many varieties to choose from .The prices are a bit high but well worth it ! There are samples of jellies ,salsa ,pickles , relishes , and more displayed throughout the shop for everyone to taste ! Of course there's a bake shop with cookies, Whoopi pies , breads , shoofly pie , sticky buns and so much more !You can even watch the girls in the kitchen making jam ! Been here before pre pandemic. Went here recently on Monday 5/22/23 with my family on our trip to lancaster. Lots of shops here from a bakery, to ice cream, jams, candles, handbags, jewerly, restuarants, and even a hotel! plenty of parking. We actually parked by a store called girls day out. First stop was a store with signs and various garden decorations. 2nd stop was Lapp Valley Farms Ice Cream. There, I had a scoop of coffee ice cream in a cup, my dad had a scoop of chocolate in a cup, and my mom had a scoop of chocolate chip in a cup. We also went to the Olive Basin, where we sampled blood orange vingarette, and it was so good, that we brought 6 for a special price. The owners of that store were very nice. i even tried chiptole vingarette, and it was delicious! We then also went to the village bakery, and the jam and relish shop. We got cookies at the bakery, i got a chocolate, chocolate chip cookie that was good and fresh. We also got various jellies, and jams, as well as pinapple salsa, that we also tasted at the store. I loved Kitchen Kettle Village. You must definitely stop by if you're in the area. It is the cutest and quaintest shoppers village. And it has a variety of speciality shops to enjoy. My personal favorite shops were The Jewelry Bar (where you can find Alex & Ani, Pandora and more), The Bake Shop, and The Jam & Relish Kitchen. One of my favorite spots in Lancaster! Huge tourist attraction spot. We go to Lancaster every year on Columbus Day weekend and this is a must on our itinerary each year. We love trying all of the samples. Unfortunately this year there were no samples due to COVID. I totally understand the guidelines they need to follow but definitely took away from the experience. This was the last stop on our way out of town, and this was a perfect way to end our long weekend in Amish country. We only visited a few stores as most were arts&craft based, which wasn't of interest to us. We stopped at a fudge shop (HIGHLY recommend) and a shop that sold all kids of sauces, jams, etc. I wish it had been pre-COVID because there were lots of unique items I would have loved to sample. We had lunch here and also stopped to get ice cream from Lapp Valley Farms. OMG-you 1000% just need to visit for that treat! I had chocolate marshmallow and it was truly one of the creamiest ice creams I've ever had-sooooo good. It's cash only, so be prepared. Throw your diet out the window and splurge-it is so, so worth it. Parking is free, I believe they offer buggy rides, and they have wagons available if you buy a lot (or want to haul around your 30 pound toddler-just sayin'). Kitchen Kettle Village doesn't occupy more than a few hours, but it's definitely worth a trip if you are in the area. read more

As we got closer, I started to see where the Pennsylvania Amish live. I saw the horse & buggies, windmills, and homes with clothing on the lines. When we got to Kitchen Kettle Village, the ambience is friendly and warm. We visited the shops that sell and sample cheese, sausage, jerky, olive oil, salsas, butters, fig jam, shoofly pies and other treats. I really wanted to love this place, as there are so many cute stores. Unfortunately on a Saturday afternoon it was way too crowded to even browse most of the stores. You feel like you have to wait your turn to go to the next section of each store because you're at the mercy of waiting for the person in front of you to move along. Kitchen Kettle Village in Lancaster County, PA features so so many incredible shops! They have candies, clothes, and canning. They have sweets and treats. They have beautiful handmade quilts which I've learned are one of the pride and joys of the Amish and Mennonite women. I also learned how much the Amish women love baking, cooking, and canning at the The Jam and Relish Kitchen. The Aged and Cured shop features many varieties of gourmet jerkies (think bison and kangaroo) and lots of different gourmet cheeses. They also have a handmade Amish doll shop and it's pretty interesting to learn why the Amish dolls don't have faces! They also offer Amish buggy rides here. Kitchen Kettle is very popular and very busy. You must visit when you're in Lancaster! read more
