Iris was excellent as our designer for our new kitchen cabinets, countertops, and sink. They have been in over a year now and I love them all. My issues were with the contractor that was suggested. After a year several of the cabinets loosened up. I had another contractor check it out and he discovered the cabinets had short less than 1/2" screws holding the lazy susan and other cabinets which broke away and also many of the other cabinets loosened. I did not call Iris due to the fact it was installed improperly and that was my choice for contractors not her fault. So just make sure you watch who you hire to install. I wish I had read all the bad reviews from ex-customers of this makeshift company. I purchased cabinets, and I was very specific on what I wanted and they agreed. What I ended up receiving was cheaply made, unfinished versions of what I had ordered. Their only excuse was to say that is the standard. Now I'm gonna have to go through small claims court to rectify the situation. Save yourself the headaches!  If you need cheap cabinets, there are lots of places in the Cleveland area that distribute the same exact cabinets (Waypoint) at a cheaper price and have much better customer service! read more

I couldn't be happier with the cabinets we purchased. After 18 months, they still look brand new. The price was great - better than those big box stores. The process was really easy, the employees are knowledgeable and the kitchen designer gave us exactly what we wanted. The only thing I would recommend is that our floor to ceiling measurement was 1" higher one one side vs the other. That caused the contractor to have to make some minor adjustments - not a big deal but since many people don't have straight walls, if the they come out to measure, double check all 4 corners. Also recently we had to order some spare shelving parts and that was also a an easy process. I would do business with them again in a heartbeat. read more

Our consultant walked me through every step of the selection process and explained (more than once, so many details) the differences between the styles and quality of their cabinets. Only one time in the process, just before I signed on the dotted line, he mentioned that his manager had a concern about the length of the turnaround by the Refrigerator. I felt it was too late to change so we took our chances. We eventually did find the right fridge for the location. 3 years later we experienced a kitchen flood. I wasn't sure what to do about the toe-kick, so I called to ask. I left a voicemail and explained the situation, someone called me back for more details, and as I was starting to get nervous about calling someone else for help, replacement toe-kick showed up at my door! Our designer was excellent. The quality of the product has shown itself over time. After approximately two years, the slow close no longer works. The cabinets are very low quality. When we first went in to the warehouse it made us a bit cautious. There where a lot of people and so we walked around just looking at what they had in stock. On our way out we where asked if we were helped and we said no. We are here to look at kitchen cabinets and the girl said you need to make a appointment and the proceeded to tell use what we needed to bring back at the time of our appointment. We brought the information back and said we are just shopping and we just did windows and this was next. The experience was unbelievable they drew up plans and said when you ready stop back... This was our 2nd purchase from NEFD found a nice bed for our son had quick turn around on our order picked it up at their warehouse without an extra charge unlike many of the chain stores. The cabinets are excellent, and they had affiliates who got us stone for countertops at half the price of the other places we looked. She came up with a fantastic design for the kitchen and it was great to see it in 3-D design on the overhead computer. We had an appointment at this place at 1 pm. We even got there fifteen minutes early and bypassed lunch to make sure we were on time. We asked to let Joe know we were here and he said we had a 1:30 appointment not 1 pm. We were sure because Joe only gave us two options 1 or 2 O'clock not 1:30. We took the 1 pm. So at 1:03 he said he will be right back in just a couple of minutes and left for the back of the store. By 1:18 we asked if someone could page him. We were told in a rather rude way he will be right out and we had a 1:30 appointment which I am sure Joe told the other guy. Anyway we waited another 4 or 5 minutes and no Joe so we left. We decided Joe cared more about lunch then he did his customer. If he would have told us at 1:03 that he would be a while we could have went to Wendy's across the street and had our lunch. Now we are both reasonable people and if he would have said I am sorry it was a mistake we would have waited. But twice we were told we were wrong. Not the way to treat customers who are there to possibly spend $30,000 plus on their kitchen or anyone else for that matter. If he had a family thing or something, all he had to do was tell us. But he didn't. If I was Joe's boss I would find out why something else is more important then his customers and retrain Joe or get rid of Joe. I trained sales people for years and you can always tell when one was either burned out or just doesn't care. . Bottom line if we get that kind of service at the beginning, it probably would only go downhill from there. read more

Our kitchen cabinets are beautiful, solid wood with a lifetime warranty. Purchasing the cabinets from this company saved us a lot of money, which Included the handles and the soft closed hinges in the price. We chose to go with the cabinet installer that works exclusively with Northeast Direct, but not an employee of the company. We thought that by going with their recommended installer, that, if there was a problem, it would be quickly rectified. For starters, there was a layout error made. We wanted to have our granite counter top supported by our original cabinet layout, which allowed us to be able to sit at the kitchen counter. Because of this error, it caused us to have to move the cabinet into proper position after it was already installed! We were very unhappy with Rick, the installer. He made promises he could not keep, such as start and finish dates.There was some molding not put in right and multiple holes left in back of cabinets because of them missing the studs. At a minimum, they should have used putty to fill them in. Big gaps in shoe molding and bottom cove molding not secured. We were also told that under mount cabinet puck lighting was part of our installation quote, which was never installed. He neglected to put in dry wall as promised and left unfinished caulking. He sent workers when he told us he would be there. I had to call numerous times to see when he was arriving. He never came when he told us he would. I was so disgusted with him I tried to get a hold of the owner of Factory Direct but had to settle for the installation boss over him. I believe his name was Angelo, who was of no help at all. In my opinion, I would have liked to seen this matter handled promptly by the owner. Unfortunately, I could not reach him. I believe Rick, the installer, had too much on his plate at the same time. He had too many fires to put out with customers because, I believe, he was terribly overbooked. We went with him as an installer from good recommendations. If I had to do this again, I would definitely get my cabinets from Factory Direct but I would definitely go with another installer. I would rate the cabinets 5 stars with the installation only 2 stars. read more

I read some bad reviews but visited the store anyway. Displays were incomplete and the overall appearance of the store was not professional. I asked some questions and got an email to send in a drawing I had. No one ever contacted me after several messages and I had to contact a district manager in order to get a reply from the store. All of this seemed to reflect what I saw in the reviews so I passed on doing business here. This was a couple years ago so I am not sure if it all still apples, but do your homework before you buy is all I can say. read more

The kitchen cabinets are nice, but not as sturdy as we were led to believe. The price was right and our kitchen looks great. The counter people they recommended did not do a good job on installation. The seam is uneven. Loved all the furniture we bought, which amounts to three couches, an ottoman, a recliner, three tables and a bed. I say buy your furniture there, weigh your choices carefully when buying kitchen cabinets. read more

The cabinets were a good price and look very nice. My problem is with the over-all installation. The installers were in a constant hurry to get to other jobs and on the last day, after we were assured they could handle putting up the back-splash, they never asked our opinion on anything. The tiles were extended to the door framing instead of stopping at the ends of the counter tops. It looks very unprofessional.Large gobs of grout dried on the cabinet corners and it looks terrible. They were out the door so quickly we did not have time to check all the drawers and door before they left. We found 5 doors that have missing door adaptors that make the the doors and drawers "silent closers". Thus, they are not silent and close loudly. In addition, one of the drawers immediately fell off the track the first time we opened it and is tilted. I called regarding these matters and did not receive a return call. I then sent a certified letter to the attention of the owner that was signed for 11/3/15 and have yet to receive the courtesy of a reply. They do not rank highly in my opinion in the customer service department. I now have to pay msomeone to cut the tiles that were extended too far and also to try and remove the gobs of grouting piled onto the corners of the cabinetry. When my wife asked why they ran the tile so far beyond the ends of the counter tops she was told "we made an executive decision". She was available at all times if they had any questions. I love the cabinets I ordered and received. They're beautiful. The price was reasonable. They did not package the shelves inside the cabinets so when we opened them and had to turn boxes over to look for damages, they would fall from one end to the other. One cabinet was not put together which my contractor was surprised. My salesperson did a great job designing the kitchen. She was really nice but not always thorough. We had our first appointment scheduled and she took someone off the street before we got there so we ended up waiting for 45 minutes.The follow up was not very good. They forgot all of our hardware. I got a box of the wrong handles in 2 days and then it took me 2 weeks to get the right ones and they shorted me 5 handles. Took me another 3 weeks to get those. I had a cupboard door that I needed replaced and it took me 3 weeks to get it too. They sent me one that was the wrong size even after I sent them the dimensions with my first request. I love my kitchen though and my cupboards and I was well under budget so I'm extremely happy. read more

I have purchased cabinets, granite counters and a bedroom set and leather chair. Honestly, the bed is SO comfortable and our new kitchen looks incredible. The cabinets are soft close. Really nice. Got really good service....people there are personable and knowledgeable. The place is hopping so the salesmen dont have time to be pushy cause they are in high demand if that makes sense. read more

The process of ordering was problematic. The design had to be changed multiple times due to the designer not listening to requests. Once the cabnets were in 5 drawers had screws comming through the bottoms and one through the face of the drawer. The drawers and doors are not predrilled for hardware. Further the hardware that came with the cabnets had screws that did not match the various thicknesses of drawers and doors. Every screw had to be cut down which creates challenges getting them to thread. read more
