"The food you eat can be either the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form…read moreof poison." Ann Wigmore 'The Conscious Cook' is a wonderful establishment where they offer live cooking classes that not only educates you about eating healthy, but also introduces you to a whole new world of foods. I attended a Vegan meetup here and was introduced to a live demo of 'Plant Based Nutrition for Cancer Prevention.' The owner, Sadie King and vegan chef and Health Coach, Landry Fuller prepared easy, flavorful dishes that were full of vitamins and antioxidants to keep your immune system strong and your body healthy. This was a great event to attend for those who want to try and change their diet and improve their health. We learned how cancer can be prevented by making smarter food choices including nutrient-rich fruits, vegetables, fiber, herbs and spices. 'The Conscious Cook' also offers an array of classes from all types of ethnic cuisine to themed dessert classes. It's also a fun way to bring a group of friends to and participate in. You don't even have to be a vegan and/or vegetarian to enjoy these dishes. Just have an open mind. :) Check out their website for healthy plant-based cooking classes, health and wellness coaching for individual clients and groups who are seeking healthier eating and more balanced lifestyles, monthly programs as well as talks, workshops and cooking classes. They even sell products such as the Saladmaster, which has been shown to be the best method for cooking. Here's more information: http://conscious-cook.com/saladmaster/ You are what you eat. I am a true believer of that. If you want to live a long and healthy life, having a healthy diet is the first step. In my opinion, plant based nutrition has been the most impactful and beneficial lifestyle for me. The food is amazingly delicious and that in turn affects my mood and overall well-being. I have never felt more energetic, youthful, and vibrant. 'The Conscious Cook' gets my thumbs up ! It's a business that I support and know people can learn and benefit from. They are really passionate about what they do and it shows in their food. So grab a group of friends or fly solo and attend a class. Get VEGUCATED peeps ! :)

She coordinated the menu with us before we left the East Coast. We made Alvacado hummus rainbow slaw salad, Thai Stry Fry, and Superfood Truffles. I don't have enough good things to say about Chef Teri! I contacted her to inquire about doing a…read moreteam event with my direct reports, and she came to my house to do a cooking lesson with 7 of us. Everyone had the best time, and the food was incredible. Chef Teri was super responsive from my first email, and she made the booking process easy. I had my team peruse sample menus on the Eatsies site, and we landed on grilled flatbreads with homemade ricotta and strawberry napoleon. The grilled flatbreads can be done with figs, but they weren't in season, so Chef Teri instead showed us how to make the delicious Piatti's garlic dip. Chef arrived with everything we needed (all ingredients as well as equipment). She started off the class by showing us some basic knife skills, and she shared good stories, tips, and tricks throughout the entire lesson. She was great about ensuring each of us got to try out every step so that we would really learn how to make each recipe. The combo of the grilled flatbread with the homemade ricotta (SO good!) and the garlic dip (almost like a chimichurri) was scrumptious! The strawberry napoleon was fun to assemble, beautiful, and delicious. That vanilla lemon whipped cream was *chef's kiss! We all got to enjoy the fruits of our labor right then, and we had some leftovers to send home with people. I think each of us have already made at least one of the recipes again already. The garlic dip is also an excellent marinade on any kind of meat. The entire experience was just perfect. Teri is incredibly fun and engaging, she makes recipes and techniques easy to understand and execute on, and the final product was so good. We will absolutely do more with Chef Teri in the future, and I would recommend Eatsies to everyone!

I follow him on Facebook and appreciate that he doesn't Spam his followers like other celebrities are wont to do. Sam the Cooking Guy genuinely appreciate his fans and tells them so! Now all over the airwaves in a Cox Cable commercial, taking over Costco with various book signings, appearing on morning radio shows or doing cooking segments on TV shows-Sam the Cooking Guy is the man! Don't forget his kitschy little cooking show! It's also nice that he is a friendly and unassuming and makes cooking and BBQ-ing look so easy and painless. When you watch his cable channel show, it looks like Sam just opens his frig and throws together whatever is handy. Sam the Cooking Guy DEMYSTIFIES the fine art of cooking. He also does that in the classes he teaches at SD Kitchen & Bath. These "Not-in-the-red" Kitchen Classes feature: * holiday appetizers & drinks- nov. 19 * just things i like- oct. 15 and some other classes that have recently concluded such as BBQ kinda stuff, summer food, birthday menu, and Cinco de Mayo. Rest assured, they all end up selling out because these classes & Special Events are like watching the TV cooking show - but you get to eat and drink everything Sam makes. There's cocktails, tons of food, tons of fun and you'll learn a bunch of important (and unimportant) stuff. Me and my pal are going to take the holiday one to get us into that celebratory end-of-the-year spirit, As Sam likes to say: He is just an everyday guy -(with 12 Emmy's) who has "found a way to make cooking casually understandable. With no fancy equipment and by speaking English instead of 'chef-speak," Sam is a sort of "everyman of television cooking." A 5 STAR YELP Everyman!

Had an amazing experience with the WCEMT San Diego location (Aka get Spencer as the instructor). As…read morea newbie into healthcare/emergency services etc and without any previous knowledge like anatomy classes etc, I had so much to learn, just listen in lectures and you'll pass and do great. I did the accelerated course for 5 weeks Mon-Thu 8am-5pm. Tips: 1. whether you have general knowledge of the topics covered in an EMT course or not, acknowledge that you are gonna be digesting a lottttt of new information. Get good sleep, take your notes, apply yourself don't just show up to class and expect to pass 2. Create a good set up. I did my sign/symptoms homework over the weekend in addition to the online JBL quizzes. (both graded). This way during the week all I had to worry about was learning new information, being ahead, and studying for the in person quiz and exam. 3. Ask questions, the instructor is a tool that you can use. They are always there to help you and want you to succeed. Super knowledgeable and helpful, just have the courage to ask questions, especially when it's needed. 4. Sign up for your 2 required EMS rides early, if you do them in the second or third week it's better. A lot of the students including myself put dates for the last 2 weeks of the course, however EMS services can only have so many ride alongs.Hence, I just finished the course and am taking my 2nd ride along the week after because it was backed up. Do it early. 5. Make friends in the class and help each other out. We were all able to bond over the topics that were harder to learn etc, it ended up helping a lot. Everyone the first week is obviously nervous but everyone is super nice just put yourself out there. 6. When your class is studying together for the quiz or exam and Spencer is talking, listen CAREFULLY to what he says, if he repeats something or says it slowly, it's for a reason, study it for the quiz/exam. You will be doing yourself the biggest disadvantage if you don't listen to the instructor in class. 7. The skills assessments. You get out what you put in. Skills instructors are there to help teach you and correct you in practice, but be able to make mistakes and learn before skills testing day. 8. Manage your time effectively. Some students understood the information better than others and were able to enjoy themselves more outside of class time, for students like myself, the information was hard to grasp and the extra time outside of class is needed to study more. Expect to be done with class, go home and study what you learned. 9. Quizlet helps a lot, however cross check the information on there with your notes. (the book wasn't really much of help). But Spencer goes over all of the important topics in detail. Quizlet is good for practice but know your definitions and how things work. 10. Not everyone in the class but most were taken as a prerequisite for Fire Service. Super nice to network with everyone on this journey and get more information about the different routes people are on. I believe we started with 60 individuals and ended with 40 passing or so. Overall, the class was not that difficult if you followed these. At a bare minimum, turn everything in on time, keep up in the class or get ahead, LISTEN to the instructor. Great experience. Also the Cargo Cafe coffee shop there is phenomenal. Very convenient. About to take NREMT, super confident and studying pocket prep after the class. Goodluck y'all.
