    Bathrooms remodeled

Shon and his team worked patiently with me on two bathroom remodels and being able to see the flooring and the tile together in the showroom help me design the bathrooms that I truly enjoy. Also being able to see the various cabinets and components along with knowing right away if they were available or not helped to make decisions easier for ordering.

Kitchen & Bath Makers has a wonderful showroom laid out well with high quality materials for the kitchen and bath. Staff is very patient and accommodating. Affiliated with Blues Brothers Construction who did our remodel. They offered great suggestions on cabinet style, color and features. The project turned out better than imagined. Thank you Shon, Camilla, Micky and staff.

Working with KBM for 2 years and I highly recommend! As a interior designer, I highly recommended to work with those guys they are super professional. The material is very quality for the price and the service is above everything always responding. Thank you so much again.

I waited over a year after our kitchen remodel to post this review because I don't particularly like posting negative reviews but it's now become a sore spot every time I use my kitchen cabinets. First of all, Kitchen Makers was recommended by our general contractor Blues Brothers, located right next door. I would not recommend using Blues Brothers which I will post a review for separately. I believe the two businesses are partners, resulting in them turning to each other for business. Anyhow, my mistake to have trusted my GC. I have purchased from other cabinet manufacturers before and liked their work. I should have stuck to the places I have used before. The designer who worked with me was great. He did exactly what I needed them to do and was quick to respond. There was a mishap with my GC giving them wrong measurements and they ordered the wrong size cabinets but I blame the GC for that one. I ended up measuring it myself and checked it against the plans and discovered the issue. The quality of the cabinets from the outside seemed fine. It was the assembly and the lack of care during assembly that was the main issue. The doors did not have bumpers to stop them from opening too wide and it caused the doors to hit the other doors when open. It seems odd that it wasn't installed with this feature. In this past year, I have used other cabinet makers which made this feature a standard. A recent company that came to work on another job for us saw this and was shocked that Kitchen Makers did not include this. The assembly of the cabinets was subpar. They drilled so deeply that it damaged the wood and caused quite a bit of splintering. There were sharp pieces as well. I am attaching some examples because I don't have the time to take a picture of every hinge in the kitchen. The drawer glides are also drilled in so deeply that some have come unattached from the frame causing the drawer to droop on one end. I spoke to Kitchen Makers when they called to check in and I made them aware of the issues I found. It's been crickets since then. At this point, I am assuming there is nothing anyone can do but at least I can warn the next person that is thinking of purchasing these cabinets to be on the lookout for potential damages during assembly. Look elsewhere. There are a million cabinet makers. If you are in the East Bay, go to GS Fine Finishers. I hired them recently to make me custom cabinet doors and drawers plus the installation and their quality and workmanship were EXCEPTIONAL. Lesson learned!

We interviewed multiple contractors and they all had pretty identical design. When Shon viewed our small kitchen his suggestions were more in line with what we wanted. He got rid of the peninsula, thus opening up the work space, allowing room for more than one person to work comfortably at the same time. He also suggested adding a desk on one side - something I had asked the other contractors for but they all said it wouldn't work. I didn't mention a desk to Shon - he brought it up on his own. We are extremely happy with our new kitchen, the quality of the materials, and Shon's excellent design.

We wanted to remodel our kitchen and had our own contractor but needed some design help. We found Kitchen Makers on Yelp and decided to visit the showroom and talk with someone. We called and made an appointment to get going, mind you we didn't know what we wanted we just had a soon to be gutted kitchen with no clue of layout. After visiting and consulting we were thoroughly impressed with the knowledge they shared with us including different quality and design tips. We asked for a few different layout renders and we finally decided on version 7! We are picky and wanted to get this right the first time. Kitchen Makers were very easy to work with and never got frustrated with us. We not only needed cabinets, we needed countertops, a sink, hardware, and new flooring. Kitchen Makers always answered any questions we had and was extremely easy to work with. The prices were very fair and we could not be happier with our decision to order everything from them. All materials came in on schedule, zero complaints. We damaged a panel from a water leak that was 100% our fault. We called Kitchen Makers and they replaced the damaged panel at no cost. We could not believe the exceptional customer service on all levels. We truly highly recommend going with this company, they really know the products and have samples in the showroom to look at.

We were referred to Kitchen Makers by our contractor Shay. We were looking for good quality white shaker cabinets and when we walked into the showroom, we saw exactly what we were looking for. When Shon came over to measure after demo, he made excellent recommendations to our kitchen layout and we couldn't be happier with the results. We also were happy with how quickly they were able to deliver the cabinets and countertops.

My husband and I were looking for bathroom vanities and faucets for over 2 months. We had a tight budget and everything we liked seemed to be over our budget. Our neighbors who had recently gotten their bathroom remodeled recommended Kitchen Makers and I am so glad they did! . Just as we were losing hope they came at the right time. We purchased everything from this store for both our bathrooms! Shon one of the owners, was so patient with helping us pick out the right products. He also has a great eye for detail. They communicated clearly with our contractor and we were barely involved after we put the orders in,which is good considering my husband and I are both fairly busy. We could put our trust in them and our contractor. They delivered everything on time. Nothing was damaged and there were no change orders or broken material. Everything was really smooth. It was the only store with the best price for what we liked. Thank you again.

unfinished edge due to rushed mis-assembly after months of delay. The unfinished wood is still exposed, after numerous follow ups.

My experience with kitchen makers has been horrible. I've come to think of them as "kitchen/bath project breakers," rather than makers. Similar to other reviewers, we were referred by someone in the trades- a designer hired by our contractor. I can now see that KM's loyalty is to repeat referrals from trades (maybe there is a kick back? I dunno) rather than providing customer service to the actual end customer wo lives with the kitchen or bath. Beware, of KM's 100% up front payment approach. I now understand that KM's would likely not get paid if payment were contingent on providing a complete product and customer service. We ordered vanities with a specified delivery date. They were several months late. They did not let us know of the delay in advance, and said they only told out designer (who did not tell us). We only found out about the delay when we called a few weeks ahead of the scheduled delivery date to arrange delivery. It delayed the whole project by months with our bathrooms torn up. Then, when the vanities were re-scheduled to be delivered now months late- they said their assembly people did not show up that day. Natilee did not seem to appreciate project schedule and how their actions were impacting a project. Then when they again rescheduled, the staff that showed up seemed frazzled and the large vanity for the master bath had no toe board, and a smaller vanity was incorrectly assembled leaving wood exposed, with no color coating. We went through more customer reps than I can count. There was Natalee, then Stephanie and now someone else. (Stephanie actually seemed good, but only lasted a few months). They finally sent someone to the house and installed a toe board, but there was a gap. They said the office did not tell them about the other vanity with exposed uncolored wood. They said they would send someone else. Crickets. I followed up w Stephanie, she was pleasant and agreed to help. No one came. I followed up and Stephanie was gone. No one returned numerous calls. People that answered the phone had no idea of previous calls, problems discussed, or agreements made. Then after all these delays and the need to reconfigure to accommodate these delays caused us to need to make some returns on unopened plumbing supplies that were agreed to be picked up by the people sent to do installation- after the installation was so much delayed- Shon had the audacity to question the timing of the returns. I've got stuff that has been sitting on my deck for months waiting for their installation guys to pick up. The staff at KM's seems frazzled, overworked, understaffed and afraid of the owner Shon, and not able to make decisions. This drives the need to go to the owner Shon. It seems the only part of the deal that Shon seems focused on is the part of the deal where he gets 100% payment up front. The follow up- or even recall of agreements made just is not there. Also, In terms of price, I checked some of the plumbing materials we bought- nice toilets, sinks etc. I found the exact same items and model # at about 45% less cost at my local plumbing supply company- Moran Plumbing Supply- and had better customer service. For the premium KM price, I do not see premium customer service. KM has some nice products in their showroom, but customer service is about as bad as it can get. Mike

We worked with Shon on a kitchen renovation project, including the overall layout, cabinet selection and finishes. Shon offered excellent recommendations and made several tweaks to help us stay within our budget while ensuring that we got the features, quality and look we wanted. He got back to us promptly and made sure we got our cabinets on schedule. It can be daunting purchasing something as expensive as cabinets, but Shon made the process stress-free and fun. I am so in love with the finished project. I only want to hang you In my kitchen now!! The space that they were able to create by knocking down a wall and using bright colors is amazing! It's now a kitchen that I actually want to cook in. We recommend Kitchen Makers and Shon, specifically, to anyone looking for a kitchen designer.

I give five stars to any place that convinces me I need that bit of kitchen equipment. Not just replacements or duplicates, I mean stuff that does not exist in my kitchen. I have limited space in my kitchen and I do my best to avoid nonessentials. And there are not too many holes in my kitchen inventory. Since this is a restaurant supply store, I figured most of the equipment would be inappropriate for a home kitchen. And mostly it was. I really don't need paper napkins 5000 at a time. But every now and then I saw something that you don't normally see for the home cook. Now the restaurant size woks and pots were to be expected. What I didn't expect was the equipment that's clearly meant to cook individual size portions. Literally these were the cutest little woks I've ever seen. These were also the only woks where I had even the faintest chance of executing that professional chefs flip. I gave it a whirl and no luck. It's still too heavy for me. They did have some items that were on clearance. Now these prices are perfectly in line with other stores, possibly even lower. But way too late, I already have those. What a bummer. There's some stuff that automatically incited lust. But I already know this type of equipment should never be installed in a residential kitchen. For example, they had gas burners for restaurants. I seriously doubt anyone would run the gas pipes that you need to fuel these burners. I think they would violate most residential building codes. Nevertheless, they're awesome kitchen porn. I found the mix of kitchen equipment very interesting. The percentage of items that were clearly of Asian origin was very large. Here are all the missing doodads that *some* Asian markets should be stocking... Have you ever been frustrated purchasing equipment, where the plastic bits like the lids keep breaking and you can't find the replacements? Take a look at this place, the containers are standardized and so are the lids. Finally. I ran across some truly unexpected items. A lot of them were things you never think of like replacement knobs for pots, replacement wooden handles for woks. And you know those traditional brushes that your mom insist is the only way to clean a wok properly? They had it. They had it in the extra extra extra large size, but they had it. And sometimes it was just little things like the kitchen gloves that look like they would survive a tornado. Unfortunately, they were all latex and I'm allergic to latex. Oh well. Of course, there are the bits of equipment that are only useful in the home kitchen and obviously they are completely missing. Sometimes professionalism is too big of price to pay for giving up traditional cookware. If you're just glancing at the prices, they seem awfully high. But take the time to pull out the item and hold it in your hands. There is no doubt it will be heavier and probably has some interesting features that you won't find for the home version. Let's just say the wire racks will hold your cookies even if they're made of lead. And just to make my point, there was no nonstick anything anywhere that I could spot. For those of you who are looking for kitchen items that are a little bit out of the way or need something heavier duty than average. This is a great place to shop. On the other hand, many of these items are going to be too large to store easily or even to use if the dimensions of your kitchen equipment don't match. The Customer Service in the store was simply fantastic. They left you alone if you wanted to browse, and there was certainly plenty to browse. If you had questions or if you were getting serious about a purchase, they were happy to answer questions and make recommendations. 100% recommend if you are a kitchen equipment geek. You'll have fun even if you can't use any of it. 50-50 if you are looking for something unusual. Most items are only stocked if they are used in a restaurant kitchen. There's nothing that specifically aimed at home kitchens. For example, there are no kitchen appliances. Inventory fluctuates. I was delighted to find a silicone baking mat, but it only came in the half sheet size. My hopes for a domed wok cover rose high when I saw the display of Asian kitchen utensils. But the only wok covers I saw were clearly meant for the industrial size version and not for my puny home kitchen. I would say the store is not for everyone. If you love kitchen equipment, you'll enjoy browsing here and snagging cookware that you can't find anywhere else. For everyone else, most likely you find it disappointing since most of the equipment can be found in your regular department store except these are heavy duty. you may not want to pay the higher expense for an item that's going to outlive you. Or maybe we should all buy here instead of caving to our culture of consumption.

They aren't designed for making baby food, almond butter from almonds or grinding frozen meat into paste for making cha lua or hotdogs. Costs more but you have equipment which fits the task. 2) The home pizza ovens which are popular require peels to get the pizze in and out of the 800 degree oven. They sell both metal and wood versions. The pizza stones for home ovens are much cheaper here than Amazon because it costs more to ship heavy items and AMZN adjusts the price to reflect that even though shipping is "free". Prices better than online and you can see the quality of the product. They have both 16 and 12 inch sizes for peels, etc.. The newer lower cost electric/gas home pizza ovens are 12. They have bread baking pans and detroit pizza pans in stock! No need to go online to get them. The long handles for pizza peels make them unattractive for shipping. Will never get a sub $50 price for a large cutting board online but you can here. 4) Kitchen utensils, heat proof spatulas, long handled stainless steel soup spoons, slotted spoons; stainless steel serving tongs, thermometers, everthing 1/3 - 1/4 the cost of williams sonoma with more useful design like longer handles for deep stock pots. The Asian markets have a limited selection of steamers and WS or costco will never sell steamers. Designed for Asian cuisine. Steaming much healthier then other forms of cooking. 6) Glassware, they have the larger Picardie, 16oz+ in stock! They don't break. Most RS stores only sell cheaper imitations but they are the same price and the Picardie glasses here and lousy quality. 7) Plastic serverware; they sell larger dimension plastic serving platters; good for parties or home use. The larger ones made of porcelain are too heavy and difficult to store. They only go up to a certain size because of cost. Recently most serverware is more than 100-300 each because of inflation. They see reduced sales because of the increased prices and most places are transitioning to not carrying these higher cost items.

Before I even had the chance to properly look around, the male owner abruptly told me not to let my child touch anything. My baby was asleep the entire time. Not walking. Not grabbing. Not "running loose." Simply sleeping in a stroller. The comment was completely unnecessary and delivered in a tone that felt rude and unwelcoming. I fully understand that businesses need to protect their merchandise. That's reasonable. But there is a professional and respectful way to communicate that to customers. Instead, I was made to feel judged and unwelcome the moment I stepped inside. Customer service matters -- especially in a niche industry that relies heavily on relationships, repeat customers, and word of mouth within the chef community. Making a customer feel disrespected over a sleeping baby is not a good look. Because of this experience, I will not be returning and would not recommend this warehouse to others looking for a professional and welcoming place to do business.

I can't believe this is the first time I've visited this business and I can't be more pleased with…read morethe quality of service and pricing. I had a specialty vegetable cleaver that I needed repaired and sharpened. It had been used by someone to cut something they shouldn't have and there was a nice chunk missing. I brought it into the store and dropped it off. It was ready in a matter of days and the price was more than reasonable, despite them having to do some extra work to get rid of the chip. What j I appreciate it is that they did the repair in a manner that maintained the integrity of the Knife when they could've just had their way with it. I wouldn't have known the difference. They also have a nice variety of kitchen accessories and I was able to pick up a knife sheath to protect everyone from the now razor Sharp clever. It's nice having a local business that does quality work and took the time to explain my options and what was done. They deserve 6 out on f 5 stars!

Oh Eden, this review is LONG overdue. Have you ever become hyper fixated on a new hobby? Well, that…read morehobby has been cooking for the LOML. He came home with money burning a hole in his pocket, and the desire to own a chef grade knife. So, we walk in on New Year's Eve eve. Yes, you read that right, the day BEFORE New Year's Eve after going from Asian market to Home Goods, and any possible place to find a better knife than the under 100 cheap, not very well taken care of knives that we own. There were many questions, and Eden patiently, and ENTHUSIASTICALLY educated us, for over an hour about knives. Knives forged in Japan by old sword makers, knives blacksmithed by specialty metalists. There wasn't a detail he couldn't say, but most importantly, he was just PASSIONATE about his craft. We returned the following day and bought a VERY expensive knife. It's everything my beau dreamed of and more. And the amount of knowledge he spread in that interaction was something that I knew needed to be recognized. So thank you for that. The person who ended up making the sale was not at all on your level, but friendly enough. Thank you Eden for reminding me of how important it is to work at a job you truly enjoy.

Came to buy a simple shower cartridge thats sold $20 on amazon, but wanted same day for hot water…read more They found the part and didn't scan but instead went to back to ask supervisor for price. Charged $70, i didn't even mind knowing so because they helped me find me the part I thought would fit. I doubled checked with employee 2x that I could return if its not a fit. Returned it because it caused my warm water to be just cold. They straight up said no because i installed it. I had them ask the manager twice and he came out said no, he didn't listen to anything and just said employee informed me I can't return it when i purchased it. So scammy, I didn't reply. Just left and even left the cartridge, manager replied with a snarky attitude "thank you!" Didn't care much for the money and would never come back and will refer all friends and family not to visit. Also horrible service, I waited with one employee at front and 4 ppl in office staring at front.

There's some confusion on their operating hours. If you are there to pick up, you can enter…read morethrough their small pickup department to the right of the store and they open at 8am. But if you are there for the showroom or to talk to the sales people, the show room opens at 10am. When we got there it was 9:15am, so we waited outside and as the time went, more people lined up as they all thought they opened at 8. Once inside, the sales people are very friendly and nice. Kyle helped me out given my contact was on vacation. They are not on commission base, so there's less selling pressure. He showed me all the fixtures, the bidet options, the sink and their bathroom could be double used as a showroom. You can certainly try the bidet setup there to get a feel of an upgrade from the normal toilet. I like the sink they carry which is Toto and the maintenance is easy. Kyle was detail-oriented and he even discussed the option of having the overflow drain on the inside or facing the outside. After the discussion, once he puts a quote together for the items we were interested in, the rest could be done via email. So after shopping around, we emailed him about what we wanted and asked more questions for other items' specs. Everything was done on email and was convenient. After we finalize the decisions and Kyle put in the sales order, I just need to call them to pay with credit card. The whole process is seamless. Discounts are also applied if the contractor has an account with them. Once we had the order, I just need to drop it to the contractor and they will do the pickup. Easy peasy.....
