The most ridiculous establishment ever. They always over charge you and when you bring it up to their attention, they ask you to go pick up the tag and show them. Are you serious? Do I work for you? Managment here totally sucks . See pic of the receipt . And the tag showing for red bell pepper. If you don't watch, they will over charge you a dollar or two here and there without you noticing

Cheese just left on a shelf.

Where do I start? I made three trips here to buy food trays based on their posted restock dates, and all three times there STILL were no trays. It's so hard to find ANYTHING. The products are trashed (chafing dish boxes that look like they've been through a shredder--and you'll find chafers cheaper at Costco!). Items aren't in the right place. Missing prices on 60% of shelf items so you have to take the product to the front desk just to get a price. Continuously out of stock, no idea when they'll get it again or posted restock dates that mean nothing. Everything is expensive. Lousy selection. Two cashiers open when they should have four or five. Long, long, slow moving checkout lines that block access to the isles. It's dirty, dirty, dirty! Store is dirty. Parking lot is dirty. Carts left all over the place, including in parking spaces. No one rounds them up. A bag of flour or sugar or something spills in the isle--no one cares to clean it up, they just leave it. Items that require refrigeration just left on shelves near the cashiers because customers didn't want them but were too lazy to take them back to the refrigerators. It's just a miserable place to go. Only go there if you absolutely have to. Costco business center has better prices on most items--stock is in better condition, and all the prices are posted.

People not sure where to go, being turned away from lines closing

This is an establishment that requires membership. So you pay for the privilege to shop there. More often than not they have what you're looking for, even if you have to locate it high up on a warehouse rack and flag down a guy with a forklift to get it. Their biggest downside has always been their checkout process. For a long time it was a single line down a single isle, and they would direct you one by one to available check-stands. Seemed slow and sometimes the line wrapped around the store. But it was orderly. The other problem related to checking out is the management and inventory system. They seem to have a poor control of their POS/Inventory system and never know for sure if an item is discounted like the boxes say. So they are forever calling for non available management overrides on their old POS systems. This dramatically holds things up. After that, check out clerks have to call a manager to finalize each transaction. So again, you're waiting for a manager to come over a count items. It's insane. They provide No empowerment to their employees. And waste every customers time. Lately they have abandoned the single line for a free for all at the front of the store. This could make sense. However, the employees still need multiple checks from management to complete transactions. And many of the employees have zero customer service skills. They are stressed out, trying to get to their break times, and end up yelling at the customers or being extremely sarcastic with them. This palace doesn't respect you as a customer. At all. Not your time, or your experience with them. I would strong recommend seeing if somewhere like US Chefs store, smart and final, or Costco can meet your needs before coming here. It will take much longer than you'd expect, and will be largely a bad experience.

    Line and line for days!

I've been here so many times with my mom to pick up food for our restaurant. It is so overwhelming if it's someone first time bc they have everything and everything you can think of if you need food to operate a restaurant from bones to green leaves to Togo packages to can foods, they got everything. Some days it's a hit. Most days it's a miss bc they're not stocking fast enough. Customer service can be improved for sure and feel super rushed. Tip of the day is to always take picture of the pricing and compare to what's being charged on your receipt. Also if you get their sale advertisement just make sure it reflect in the system bc they don't always code it on time.

Firstly, the store is open to the public. I looked for some signs, but there was nothing posted,…read morebut ask and the answer was a resounding yes. I give five stars to any place that convinces me I need that bit of kitchen equipment. Not just replacements or duplicates, I mean stuff that does not exist in my kitchen. I have limited space in my kitchen and I do my best to avoid nonessentials. And there are not too many holes in my kitchen inventory. Since this is a restaurant supply store, I figured most of the equipment would be inappropriate for a home kitchen. And mostly it was. I really don't need paper napkins 5000 at a time. But every now and then I saw something that you don't normally see for the home cook. Now the restaurant size woks and pots were to be expected. What I didn't expect was the equipment that's clearly meant to cook individual size portions. Literally these were the cutest little woks I've ever seen. These were also the only woks where I had even the faintest chance of executing that professional chefs flip. I gave it a whirl and no luck. It's still too heavy for me. They did have some items that were on clearance. Now these prices are perfectly in line with other stores, possibly even lower. But way too late, I already have those. What a bummer. There's some stuff that automatically incited lust. But I already know this type of equipment should never be installed in a residential kitchen. For example, they had gas burners for restaurants. I seriously doubt anyone would run the gas pipes that you need to fuel these burners. I think they would violate most residential building codes. Nevertheless, they're awesome kitchen porn. I found the mix of kitchen equipment very interesting. The percentage of items that were clearly of Asian origin was very large. Here are all the missing doodads that *some* Asian markets should be stocking... Have you ever been frustrated purchasing equipment, where the plastic bits like the lids keep breaking and you can't find the replacements? Take a look at this place, the containers are standardized and so are the lids. Finally. I ran across some truly unexpected items. A lot of them were things you never think of like replacement knobs for pots, replacement wooden handles for woks. And you know those traditional brushes that your mom insist is the only way to clean a wok properly? They had it. They had it in the extra extra extra large size, but they had it. And sometimes it was just little things like the kitchen gloves that look like they would survive a tornado. Unfortunately, they were all latex and I'm allergic to latex. Oh well. Of course, there are the bits of equipment that are only useful in the home kitchen and obviously they are completely missing. Sometimes professionalism is too big of price to pay for giving up traditional cookware. If you're just glancing at the prices, they seem awfully high. But take the time to pull out the item and hold it in your hands. There is no doubt it will be heavier and probably has some interesting features that you won't find for the home version. Let's just say the wire racks will hold your cookies even if they're made of lead. And just to make my point, there was no nonstick anything anywhere that I could spot. For those of you who are looking for kitchen items that are a little bit out of the way or need something heavier duty than average. This is a great place to shop. On the other hand, many of these items are going to be too large to store easily or even to use if the dimensions of your kitchen equipment don't match. The Customer Service in the store was simply fantastic. They left you alone if you wanted to browse, and there was certainly plenty to browse. If you had questions or if you were getting serious about a purchase, they were happy to answer questions and make recommendations. 100% recommend if you are a kitchen equipment geek. You'll have fun even if you can't use any of it. 50-50 if you are looking for something unusual. Most items are only stocked if they are used in a restaurant kitchen. There's nothing that specifically aimed at home kitchens. For example, there are no kitchen appliances. Inventory fluctuates. I was delighted to find a silicone baking mat, but it only came in the half sheet size. My hopes for a domed wok cover rose high when I saw the display of Asian kitchen utensils. But the only wok covers I saw were clearly meant for the industrial size version and not for my puny home kitchen. I would say the store is not for everyone. If you love kitchen equipment, you'll enjoy browsing here and snagging cookware that you can't find anywhere else. For everyone else, most likely you find it disappointing since most of the equipment can be found in your regular department store except these are heavy duty. you may not want to pay the higher expense for an item that's going to outlive you. Or maybe we should all buy here instead of caving to our culture of consumption.

They aren't designed for making baby food, almond butter from almonds or grinding frozen meat into paste for making cha lua or hotdogs. Can smell the burning electric motor smell from home appliances. This smell is toxic and emits cancer causing chemicals. The commercial appliances here don't have that problem. Costs more but you have equipment which fits the task. 2) The home pizza ovens which are popular require peels to get the pizze in and out of the 800 degree oven. They sell both metal and wood versions. The pizza stones for home ovens are much cheaper here than Amazon because it costs more to ship heavy items and AMZN adjusts the price to reflect that even though shipping is "free". Prices better than online and you can see the quality of the product. They have both 16 and 12 inch sizes for peels, etc.. The newer lower cost electric/gas home pizza ovens are 12. They have bread baking pans and detroit pizza pans in stock! No need to go online to get them. The long handles for pizza peels make them unattractive for shipping. If they are shipped then price is 2x of what you see here. 3) Cutting boards, they have the fancy John Boos wood cutting board considered by many to be the best made to cheaper and lighter bamboo boards and poly ones. All come in larger sizes. Not the smaller sizes sold in costco. Much better variety here. Same comment as above for pizza stones. Cheaper than online because heavy items are expensive to ship. Will never get a sub $50 price for a large cutting board online but you can here. 4) Kitchen utensils, heat proof spatulas, long handled stainless steel soup spoons, slotted spoons; stainless steel serving tongs, thermometers, everthing 1/3 - 1/4 the cost of williams sonoma with more useful design like longer handles for deep stock pots. WS doesn't sell long handled spoons. spatulas, because most home cooks have cheaper small pots and skillets. 5) steamers, they have larger sized bamboo and stainless steel steamers for making dimsum. The Asian markets have a limited selection of steamers and WS or costco will never sell steamers. Designed for Asian cuisine. Steaming much healthier then other forms of cooking. 6) Glassware, they have the larger Picardie, 16oz+ in stock! They don't break. Most RS stores only sell cheaper imitations but they are the same price and the Picardie glasses here and lousy quality. 7) Plastic serverware; they sell larger dimension plastic serving platters; good for parties or home use. The larger ones made of porcelain are too heavy and difficult to store. They only go up to a certain size because of cost. Recently most serverware is more than 100-300 each because of inflation. They see reduced sales because of the increased prices and most places are transitioning to not carrying these higher cost items.

Noelle's Yelp Notebook 2014…read more I stopped by Goodware Restaurant Supply today with my family. I've seen it many times as we headed to the Costco Gas Station. We found parking easily and entered through the side door. You do not need to be a business/restaurant owner to shop here. It's open to the public. Upon entering the large warehouse you will note the cash register counter on the left hand side of the shop and the right hand side filled with everything under the sun that a restauranteur would need to open up an eatery. We were greeted with friendly smiles by the husband and wife team that own Goodware Restaurant Supply (they were helping ring someone up that was obviously a regular customer). After their regular customer left, they asked us if we needed any help. I told the wife that I was looking for 32 ounce and 16 ounce containers with lids that were BPA, freezer safe, microwave safe and could hold hot soups. Both husband and wife smiled and told me that they have that in stock and that I would have to purchase each by the case. Before I came to Goodware Restaurant Supply, I had already done my pricing of the items I wanted online. I asked how much it was per case and realized it was more than a fair price and decided on those two items. I asked if they had large plastic bins and other items and they were very helpful showing me where the items were which made my shopping trip fast. All of the items in the warehouse were clearly marked with prices that were clear and easy to read. Everything was extremely organized. I was very pleased with the fact that I received excellent customer service, the products I purchased were a good value and they accept debit/credit cards. I don't own a business but I came here primarily for the to go recyclable soup containers. Now, when I make soups or stews and want to share with family and friends I don't have to worry about having enough plastic food containers because I bought two large cases. They also have a great selection of recyclable and biodegradable to-go food containers which I will definitely buy on my next trip (I already have some at home). To-go containers are great for left-overs at parties for my guests. I look forward to shopping here again! Whoa I had driven down this road many times but totally missed glances over here. Maybe I looked…read moreonce but thought it wasn't for the public. You see US Foods is one of the big wholesale food distributers that restaurants big and small use. They will deliver big loads of goods whether food or supplies right to the restaurant, usually on pay terms so no cash is handled. And for busy restaurants this is a must, as they constantly need raw goods coming in weekly if not daily. This is the first time I saw a 'US Foods' store. I think they took over something else. But it is a big store/space where almost everything is in bulk and/or wholesale form. For the home cook there is really nothing here that would fit their needs/kitchen unless you like to buy in bulk. 20 - 50 pound bags of beans, sugar or flour is usually just too much for an average Joe to carry to the car, let alone store in a home pantry. But if you like to entertain/cook for a large group like a big birthday, a bbq outing or big holiday get-togethers, then this place may serve you a purpose. I browsed one day and got a good feel for the place and here are my observations. If you go into the fresh produce area or the meat/dairy areas, you will have to go into a refrigerated room. The whole room is about 35 degrees so if you go in there in shorts and/or a t-shirt, then you will not be able to stay in there for too long. Produce not really extensive but you will be able to find some basics. Some things are in cases/big bags but not everything. Actually lots of things in smaller packaging like 2-3 pounds which is doable for a home fridge/usage. I'd say the offerings here are somewhat similar to what you could get at Costco. Meats are a mixed bag. Lots of processed meats like deli meat in whole form. Lots of cheese too but much too bulky for a home fridge. There are pork and beef but all in big/whole chunks. Nothing will be cut into steaks. Big packs too like minimum 10 pounds or more. But if you're cooking for a big group, you're gonna need a minimum of 10 pounds so this may be a draw for me. The bad is for the beef selection, even though the pricing did seem good, there is no 'choice' grade. They use 'select' grade here, which is a notch down from choice. But if you're just braising or slow cooking then this grade would be just fine. Costco only serves 'choice' grade or higher so theirs is more premium. Pork is fine here, I got some pork tenderloin in 2 packs, which is one of the smallest packages I saw, ideal for home usage. Good selection of restaurant ware. Pots, utensils and storage containers. This is a big draw for me as I love restaurant quality storage containers. They are sturdy, with tight lids and many are stackable. These are even hard to find at Costco and Smart and Final. On a weekday morning there is zero traffic here, complete opposite of Costco. Now this is more geared towards restaurants, but knowing if I can get something here or Costco, I will choose this, as the parking and ease to get in and out is an amazing asset to me. I was gonna give them 3 stars for not really being friendly for home usage but given those certain occasions where I'm cooking for 10 or more people, then this place will get a heavy consideration. And drum roll please******no membership card needed. Open to the public. **cymbal crash**

I like shopping here because the prices are pretty good and less crowded than other brand stores.read more
