    Ube flan!
    Marie Elise O.

I would give Chef Kryssie and Kitchen 1726 100 stars if I could! My cousin recommended Kitchen 1726 as we were planning to do a backyard rehearsal dinner in Tustin. I contacted Kryssie in late December for my wedding in March and she was so kind and responsive even while she was on vacation in Hawaii! We ended up using Kitchen 1726 not only for our rehearsal dinner but also for our wedding cake and favors! I also ordered a dozen ensaymadas for my bridesmaids for our morning getting ready fuel! Kryssie was so responsive and thoughtful with the meal planning. I asked so many questions and she walked me through everything! And she was accommodating when we asked for some vegetarian entrees (vegetarian isn't super common in Filipino food lol). All of the food was amazing and we had PLENTY for everyone. We ended up with the following (I put some extra comments on our favorites): -Soy roasted chicken: dark soy, ginger, garlic, scallions - SO GOOD! - Chicken coconut adobo: soy, cane vinegar, garlic, sweet onions, coconut milk - Beef caldereta: potatoes, sweet bells, carrots, chickpeas spicy tomato gravy - sesame sautéed veggie medley - unicorn garlic rice -ube rice, pandan rice, turmeric rice, jasmine rice, toasted garlic -- i never thought I'd be raving about rice until I tried Chef Kryssie's unicorn rice! - pancit - vegetarian: wheat noodles, carrot, cabbage, mushrooms, tofu, scallions -Lechon - pork egg rolls: these were gone by the time I got to the dinner, so I think they were a hit! - a cupcake board that spelled MB - ube flan cake - 1dz. ube bibinkga - SO YUMMY!! - ube pandesal For my bridesmaids breakfast: 1 dozen ensymada - ube cheese pandan coconut. - a MUST try! Our wedding cake consisted of ube with vanilla frosting, vanilla with ube frosting, and chocolate with a chocolate ganache. So yummy! The real star though were our wedding favors. We ordered ube crinkle cookies and created custom labels that Kryssie was able to use in packaging. We got soooo many compliments on the cookies. We also ordered some vegan gluten free almond ube cookies but I think I needed to have changed the label so that ppl knew it was for the vegans & GF folks! People who were non-vegan or GF had some and told me they never would have thought it was different from a "regular" cookie! I am definitely recommending Kitchen 1726 and I will definitely order again in the future!

We had the best time with Chef Kryssie and her team! I was looking for a filipino-inspired chef for a party I was hosting. I was so pleased to find Chef Kryssie and she was so easy to work with. She offered a delicious menu that my guests raved about. Leading up to the party, we corresponded via text which made decision-making convenient. The day of the event, she arrived early with her team and stayed in communication with me on timing of the food. By the end of the night, her team cleaned the kitchen, took out the trash, and left everything they touched spotless. We were spoiled to have her and it will make it hard for us to host future parties without her!

OC Magazine "Best of 2021" Party Celebration.

This week my husband and I had the pleasure of being part of the OC Magazine "Best of" Party at Rancho Las Lomas in Silverado. There were many food vendors there, and we had the opportunity to experience many of the delicious tastings showcased. AND... the one that truly captured my attention was the KITCHEN 1726 booth hosted by the incredible Chef Kryssie herself joined by a very charming young lady (whose name escapes me at the moment... forgive!) We were truly impressed with the blend of spices and herbs which joined, created what I call "A PIECE OF HEAVEN". The best chicken and rice recipe ever created; warm, creamy, and totally DELICIOUS. Thank you young ladies for such a wonderful treat and best wishes! PS: When we start doing events again at our place of business we will definitely call on KITCHEN 1726 to host them. :)

Coconut Ube butter topped with lava salt, with fresh baked pandesal.

I attended a dinner hosted by Chef Kryssie, and it was one of the best pop up dinners that I've attended. Ever! The food was a spectacular array of culinary art, where Chef Kryssie showcased her cooking skills. The food was delicious! The meal started up with Fresh Baked Pandesal served with fresh whipped ube butter, topped with black lava salt. The external crispyness of the bread, coupled with the chewy and moist inside made it clear that she knows how to cook her food. The beautiful ube butter, contrasted with the black lava salt, made the dish so exciting and fun to eat. The first dish was the Unicorn Garlic Fried Rice - made with red rice, jasmine rice, ube rice, pandan rice, toasted garlic. Everyone at our table was happy to eat this dish because it was so visually stunning, plus played with colors and contrasting flavors. I had seconds, and thirds, and fourths of this dish! The second dish was Chicken Adobo Sa Gata, which was Jidori chicken thigh, Lang (coconut braised collars greens), kabocha squash, Pickled mushrooms, coconut foam. I loved how the chef contrasted the textures and flavors of this dish. It surely tasted like a home-cooked meal. The third dish was Arrozo Caldo. The dish was steel cut oats, ginger broth, confit chicken, 64 degree egg, scallions, topped with Chicharrones & toasted garlic. My toes literally curled when eating this dish! So delicious! Again, the contrasting textures and unique flavors popped in this dish. it was like all ingredients were doing a dance in your mouth as you ate it! My favorite was the chicharrrones, which she patiently and artistically cooked herself for many hours. I wanted to order more of this dish, but was afraid of being too piggy! This was a highlight of the meal! Finishing off the meal was dessert - brown butter almond sponge cake. Homemade kesong puff, honey syrup, candied pecans. This dish was so good, I wanted to slap my grandma! (Southern saying...). The dessert was so artistically put together, I didn't want to touch it! But I'm glad that I did. The Kesong puff made it fun to eat. Again, visually stunning dish! Overall, this was perhaps the best and most fun pop up dinner that I've ever been to! Chef Kryssie knows how to cook, and everyone attending her dinners is like family! Her gentle soul and love for cooking clearly comes out in her food! She is trained well and puts on one heck of a dinner! I'm a forever fan! Food Grade: A+ Service Grade: A Worth the Money Grade: A Overall Impression Grade: A+ ,

We hired Chef Kryssie for our wedding cake, and it was beautiful and delicious. The process of inquiry for the custom cake order was very simple and easy. She was very responsive to emails and texts. We sent her an image reference as our cake's aesthetic guide. Our request for a nearly-naked cake with fresh flowers was spot on. We also appreciated that she came early to setup and decorate the cake with the fresh flowers. We recommend ordering her cake sampling kit. It was very helpful for deciding our wedding cake flavor. All of her buttercream frostings were delicious. We loved them because the frostings were light and not overly sweet. Ultimately we decided on onyx chocolate with vanilla buttercream. Thank you Chef Kryssie for taking part in our special day.

Mochi donut- ube, green tea, chocolate. Not oily! Must try.

Absolutely delicious. I saw Stacy S's Yelp review and I really really want the food. The pictures look so good! I checked Chef Kryssie's website saw more pictures of her food, And she delivers! OMG why did we not know this sooner?! Texted Chef Kryssie and she was so responsive. Within minutes, dinner was planned and delivery confirmed. Then it was waiting for the food. The most anticipated item for me was the mochi donut. There has been many pop up mochi donut places recently. They are good, but often too oily. Chef Kryssie's mochi donut has the mochi taste and I don't feel like having a clogged artery afterwards! So so good. Hubby loves the Lechon. Crispy and crunchy on the outside, the meat is so tender on the inside. My 80 year old in law can eat it. And the unicorn rice. Yum yum yum. My only regards is I don't have enough room to try everything! Well, until next time. Hehe. Delicious home made food, reasonably priced, and delivery. What are you waiting for? Go to Chef Kryssie's website and check out her products. She is known for her ube products. Give her a text. Now I have to get back to decide what to order from Chef Kryssie's next week. Later.

Salmon Carpaccio - yummm, not fishy at all

We hired Kryssie to host a dinner for 6 in our home. From beginning to end, she was very professional and very accommodating. We wanted an entirely new menu and she provided us with great options. We wanted a surf and turf type of meal and she delivered beyond our expectations. She served an ube bread with ube butter to start and it was so yummy. She stayed true to the ube taste which is what I loved. Our guests didn't care for dessert so she made ube cookies with little toffee bits. Amazing! Something I've honestly never had before and trust me, ube is my favorite so I've had a lot of it. She brought her own menus which even had a wax crest. She made us look like rock stars. She brought an assistant who served us as if we were at a restaurant. She left my kitchen better than how she found it. I will definitely be hiring her again soon. She was extremely versatile and creative. Thank you for a memorable night!

I haven't met Chef Kryssie or tried her food until tonight. I took a chance. I hired her to cater a dinner for 20 for me tonight with a week's notice. It turned out she was available and she was so responsive via email, text, and phone. She was extremely accommodating and helpful. She came to my house 3 hours before dinner time and stayed 3 hours after dinner was served. She was reliable and thank goodness, her food was amazing! We did a kamayan-style (traditional Filipino meal eaten by hand) dinner. While the way the food was served was traditional, the food was modern Filipino. She gave it a nice twist but still stayed true to the key flavor profile of the Filipino cuisine. With regard to her food, she put together a delicious and abundant dinner for my party. First of all, the ube pan de sal with ube butter is devine. This is the best dinner roll I've ever had. The unicorn fried rice was flavorful, the pork liempo was scrumptious, the chicken tasty and salmon perfectly cooked. The achara was a great compliment to the entire meal and the chicken lumpia added a crunchy component to the feast. Even the non-Filipinos loved the dinner and the evening. Go to her pop up events or hire her to do your catering. She's reasonably priced and I will definitely have her again at my home.

    Breakfast!

Just discovered Kitchen 1726 a few nights ago on Yelp and was immediately captivated by the spectacular array of ube treats. I didn't know how far in advance I had to place the order and actually ended up texting in my request around 1:30am. #Sorry. To my surprise, Chef Kryssie actually responded just couple minutes later. Yo, Chef don't play around - she going hard in the paint even at the wee hours! The next day, I went and picked up the freshly baked goods: - the limited time only ube pumpkin spice concha - ube cheesecake croissant - ube pan de sal (the minis) - a jar of the ube butter - ube milk breads And I came home to my wife that Friday afternoon a true hero. The pan de sal has been pretty amazing for breakfast. Schmear those puppies with some o' that ube butter, and you got yourself a dynamite treat to start the day. Pairing these with my pour over coffee has been pretty amazing for the last couple of mornings. The others have been our after-dinner treats. They are actually pretty sizable, so there is only so much you can scarf down at once. Our favorite has been the ube cheesecake croissants because the ube flavor really comes through in the cheesecake-y filling. Excellent introductory order to get me acquainted, and I will absolutely be going back. Chef Kryss can also cater to private parties, so if you're having small parties (sigh, pandemic) you can try some of her amazing looking savory dishes. Having this available in South County is a blessing!!

Warm ube pan de sal with ube butter

We hired Chef Kryssie for a five-course triple birthday celebration in early September 2021. She was very communicative and responded to texts and email messages promptly. We had the ube pan de sal with ube butter, steel cut oat arroz caldo, kare kare tostada, miso roasted sea bass, unicorn rice, and kalamansi meringue tart. Everything was scrumptious! The highlight of the meal was the Chilean sea bass, it was so delicate and exquisite. We also ordered a birthday cake and other yummy baked goods. Our family are HUGE fans and we have ordered from her for Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. I highly recommend ordering from Chef Kryssie or hiring her for a private event, she is an amazing person and chef!

Ube pandesal, ube butter, ube bibingka, ube cheesecake ensaymada, ube and matcha mochi donuts, ube flan cake (so good!)
