    Brown Sugar Oatmilk Draft Latte

I love coming here! This was my first time at the Hamtramak location and it was so nice! The Gallagher sandwich on sourdough is a must! So so good! The oatmilk draft lattes were delicious. I love coming here and hanging out with friends or doing work. Just good vibes and good coffee and even better sandwiches!!

Kitab is my place to go for a good sandwich and drink . So worth it every time the only downside I notice now is the gnats . They never use to have them . I don't like that at all. But great staff , great drinks, and great sandwiches. They even have kid books and sell juices , lemonades .

First time I've ever really been in this area, and when I looked up coffee shops, this one caught my eye. It's an extremely busy and lively spot. There were people doing work and others that filtered in and out constantly. But my drink and sandwich were still prepared fairly quickly. I did an iced caramel macchiato and this coffee was delicious. A bunch of their "on tap" coffee was out so I went with a tried and true classic. There's a brown sugar and 5 spice black and tan on draft that sound very intriguing. I went with the Gallagher sandwich; sounds like a simple deli sandwich but the po boy baguette made it delicious. And there are many others that all sounded really good. This is a worthy spot!

Amazing cafe with warm and welcoming ambiance. Breakfast options are fantastic! I had a Holbrook breakfast sandwich. I was a spicy goodness with jalapeño I was craving for.

This coffee shop is unlike anything Hamtramck has previously had. The shop has a beautiful front facade and the modern yet cozy elements remain continuous in their design aesthetic. Upon entering, you find a small sitting area before the step up to the main area of the coffee shop, so please note it does not seem to be accessibility compatible. I was also super excited to see they offered a few items from La Colombe, which is my favorite coffee chain so I absolutely had to order the oatmilk draft latte. It tasted exactly as it does straight from their shops. I also tried a specialty iced coffee off Kitab's menu- the 5 spice coffee with oatmilk. It was delightfully delicious, has hints of cardamom, clove, cinnamon, and a few other spices I can't quite put my finger on. All in all, beautiful shop, delicious coffee, and amazing service. Staff were incredibly helpful and answered all my questions and made recommendations based off what I said my preferences were. Service was also great. Will definitely be returning!

Books and coffee is the perfect combo!! This bookstore and cafe opened just couple days ago. The decor is so beautiful and has the coziest vibes. They have many amazing Islamic/spirtual books for all ages. They have some seating and free wifi which makes it a great place to read, study and work. I was so excited when I found out they serve La Colombe coffee!!! I love their Oatmilk Draft Latte and was so happy to see it on the menu. They didn't have it when I came in and was told they'll have it by next week. I got an Iced Caramel Macchiato which was really good and smooth. I'd recommend if you like sweeter drinks. They also carry a variety of pastries and sandwiches. From the menu it looks like you can ask to sub any meat for halal/zabiha meat.

Their ice coffee and Yemeni draft are my favorite drinks.. The thought of naming their sandwiches after main streets is a cool idea and they are all tasty. My favorite is Holbrook They have books to read as you are dinning in to read... It's near work and it's my go too almost everyday morning

Breaking News: the first time my Spicy Mocha was actually spicy! Kitab Cafe and Bookstore is a cute neighborhood spot that has a quiet, studious environment. I ordered the Spicy Mocha, and was pleasantly surprised that it actually had a kick. Usually when I order this drink at other cafes, it has a few extra spices, but no punch. This drink was great, and left a short lingering spice in my throat, which was really lovely. Milk was steamed great, and the chocolate was not too rich. One thing I noticed (not sure if it's like this everyday) is that orders are one-by-one. Someone orders a drink, it's made while others wait, the drink is put out, and then the barista returns to take another order. Leaves people waiting in line for a while, but if you're not in a rush, then that's alright.

Look at all these pastries! They've got flavored scones, bars (like a hazelnut chocolate bar or s lemon bar), and cookies.

What a nice new coffee shop in Hamtramck! I loved all the wood interiors. They serve an array of coffee drinks, pastries and sandwiches. There's also shelves with books, mostly Islamic books for adults and kids, but also some non-secular motivational/self help books. They are able to serve decaf espresso drinks, which is great, so I was able to get my usual decaf oat milk mocha. They also have some specialty drinks. "The Hamtramck" apparently includes a little kick to it -- I think the barista said with a little cayenne. I'll probably try that next time. I was happy to see they had a huge spread of pastries mostly flavored scones, cookies and bars. I got the coconut dark chocolate scone and demolished it. The staff were really friendly and helpful. I'll definitely be back.

My favorite place to go study at between classes. Their brown sugar oatmilk is so good and if I'm ever hungry I can always order myself one of their sandwiches. The Gallagher and Holbrook are amazing. Staff is always very welcoming and I love browsing the books whenever I get the chance. I love that they have children's books too and entertainment. I definitely recommend checking out this gem

Outstanding. I tried the honey cinnamon latte. It was beautifully made and not too sweet. The pastry case has a huge variety. I tried a chocolate almond croissant and it sent me to bliss! I love the big front windows that let in the light on a dreary MI day. I've heard good things about the Adeni tea, so I'll be back to try it with a sandwich. Very happy for a habgout, coffee and sweet shop that's open after 4 in Hamtramck!

It is massive, the…read moreplace is packed to the brim, and they randomly have some ephemera (eg a confederate-era bill) that are on display and for sale. They also have a bunch of postcards organized by city/topic that were a lot of fun to rifle through. I took my parents here and my dad, who is notoriously a non-reader, absolutely loved it. The employees were also very nice and helpful. They have a selection of free books at the entrance, none of which were appealing but I appreciated it nonetheless. Prices were a bit higher than they should have been - "nothing books" (by which I mean used paperbacks with nothing noteworthy to them) were around $3-6. Obviously not going to break the bank, but they were the sort of books you could find for a dollar or less at a yard or library sale. One other bummer is that they do have a collection of rare books, but they're housed at a different location. All the titles can be seen on their website, but it's naturally so much more fun to view in person. Overall a cool place, and absolutely worth a visit. Not sure if I'd recommend planning on making a purchase, but if you're a bookstore lover or just a lover of oddities this is a must do.

I think it's best to go with a plan of what you are looking for. It can be overwhelming to just wander around. They have maps available, which is helpful. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and I recommend seeking their expertise if you are looking for something specific. There aren't really places to sit down and relax. This isn't a place where you come to chill for a long time and read through things. This feels like a place where you come with a purpose. It really is special.

The video surveillance should have also captured the moment I was bear hugged, dragged through a dark hallway, and eventually thrown into a white sign outside. I received bruises and luckily nothing major happened like landing wrong on my head and getting a concussion and possible death (should I have had a bad landing after being tossed by this lady). As she grabbed me and before she threw me to the ground I pled with her that she did not need to do this, but she was very angry (probably because she was working on Halloween and saw me with 3 beautiful girls and she couldn't handle how well the costume looked on me - just speculating here.) I went to this place on Halloween 2025, by the time I was assaulted it was November 1st, 2025 because it was past midnight. I was with 3 other girls (I am a male). We waited in line to get in. I was dressed up as Spider-Man and the girl I was with was Catwoman. I am of Western European descent and maybe that was the issue, I was racially profiled by the woman hostess/bouncer because she was letting in the rest of the people except me and my crew. I proceeded to take my phone out and record her after the assault and take pictures of her so I could later report her. On top of that, there were gunshots nearby so I decided to uber home and report this later instead of right away with the owner. I am going to follow up with this place to make sure we can come to some understanding that assaulting customers is not ok and I will continue to spread the word about my experience if I am not adequately satisfied with their resolution (if there is one). Again, this place is bad news and you should stay away. I am willing to change this review if an apology and some sort of incentive is offered.

I love to purchase the shelves and find something new, although I found the layout slightly confusing, and I found various books and multiple locations. The little tags that talk about unique aspects of the book are a really nice touch. I did find it to be slightly biased politically, but I'm not sure what you can expect in downtown Ann Arbor. They did have a beautiful special version of a book that my best friend from Australia loves, so I was able to pick up that copy. I can't wait to send it to her. When I told her about it, she cried. The book is absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much Literati for stocking such lovely products! Sidenote - this bookstore used to have delicious oat milk, lattes and unfortunately, they do not the café upstairs anymore. I do like that they got rid of all the tables where people would sit for hours on their computer computers. Now there is more room for books and I enjoy their selection of YA, cookbooks, and other genres. This is the same bookstore. We brought our Canadian friends too to browse, and it was very fun also.
