They were so great about explaining all of our options and made it a painless and smooth process…read more Everyone in the office is very friendly and great at their job.

This review is based on my experience with Mr. Waltar who managed the probate of my husband's will…read more My recommendation is that if your estate is a modest amount, say under $300,000, your income is such that you pay no taxes, and there are no issues with your estate, then Mr. Walter is NOT the attorney for you. This was the situation when I went to Mr. Waltar two weeks after my husband died. The purpose of my visit was to have a new will made and to gain clear title to our condo. Believing that his fee of $5,000 for managing the probate and another $1,000 for my new will was a reasonable amount I went ahead and signed the agreement. However, I learned more information during the probate waiting period-- information relayed to me by friends who talked to their attorneys about their fees for probate, plus two attorneys I knew personally, plus an attorney at Legal Aid, as well as research online. They all agreed that $5,000 was too much for the service rendered. Yes, I received an "estate planning" notebook with the usual boilerplate forms, and the will appears to be in good order. Barb and Jean in the office are also very pleasant. For me, though, selecting Mr. Waltar turned out to be an expensive lesson that I hope others will consider when they choose a probate attorney.
