Before I say what happened please know that I do not dislike all giftology locations just the east gate Ohio location. They have amazing products but the service in my opinion what a horrible one. I went in to shop for gifts and had the most unpleasant experience. When I walked into the location there were 3 employees working standing behind the cash register counter talking amongst themselves. In the store there was only one other couple looking around. I proceeded to walk around looking for gifts to buy my friends and family. I got to one counter with bracelets that were made of gold and pearls that I was interested in buying. I stood at the counter for over 5 mins just starting at the the 3 ladies that were standing by the register and non of them even looked my way. After another minute of waiting the girls continued their conversation and I thought I was going to get help since one of the girls looked right at me then turned her back to me and continued on with her convo. I was about to walk up to them and ask for help but to my surprise a new customer walked in and one of the girls said to the other two girls "does someone want to go and help her" mind you I had been standing there literally watching them do nothing but talking and waving their "under arm fat" around.... not a joke go check the camera for that one. After I heard one of the ladies say "I'll go help" I said "you've got to be kidding me, I've been standing here for 5 minutes waiting to be helped" I was told "sorry we didn't see you" so I asked how did you not see me when I clearly saw you wiggling your arm back and forth. To make matters worse being that I was already an upset client no one even tried to rectify the situation no one said "I'm sorry we didn't see you was there anything we could help you with" being that there were still 2 doing nothing. But no they let me walk out angry, then when I came back in to speak to a manager or get a business card they just handed me the card with no empathy whatsoever behind it. I have worked in retail my entire life and have also been in retail management for about 10 years now and I can honestly say that I did not feel welcome in the location. I actually felt as if I didn't get help based on how I look. I am half Filipino half white so I am a bit on the darker side and the lady that walked in that they rushed to help was a white lady. I was not greeted when I walked in but she was. She was helped asap and I was left standing there upset. I was excited to shop here being that I live in New York and have shopped at one of their other location upstate and do like their products. After I left the location I called the store and to my surprise no one answered the phone so I left a message, I received a call back from the assistant manager and she really didn't say anything that made the situation any better. She had no empathy and didn't even know her managers info. I told her I wanted a call back from the manager and if I could have the name of her managers manager and she wasn't able to give me their name. This place from my experience has horrible customer service and are quick to judge. Once I told the assistant manager that I was here to buy multiple gifts and had a spending budget of 2500-3000 is when she apologized. She told me the manager would get back to me when she came back from vacation and I have yet to hear back from her. I will be filing a complaint that goes above her. Aside from the bad service the products they carry are great products and I do not discourage people from buying from them. They may treat you better then they treated me.

"Hi Everyone, I have never written a review such as this, but in the light of all the racism and antisemitism on the rise, I thought this story was important to share. And as always, my reviews come from a place of truth and transparency, based only on my experiences. In 2022 Hanukkah began December 18 and ended on December 26. I live in Mariemont and this gift shop is the only one in my area. My first purchase I had bought a beautiful hat and gloves back in 2021 shortly after my return to Mariemont. During the first week of Hanukkah, 2022, I decided to stop in for two reasons. The first because I wanted to see if I could buy another hat. And the second was because I was wondering if the shop carried any Hanukkah ornaments that I could pick up. As it turns out, the owner was there that day along with one of her employees. This is how the conversation went: I said hello and I asked the owner if she had any hats for sale. Her response was, "not this year". I then asked her if she had any Hanukkah ornaments that I could buy. She looked at me with this sarcastic grin on her face, and then looked back at her employee, and laughed and said "nope, not this year- no hats, no Hanukkah ornaments" and laughed. You really had to be there to understand how this went down, but that remark, the look on her face, and how she said it in itself really was so dismissive and disrespecting. I just looked at her and said OK and then I left. I've spent a great deal of time thinking about how absolutely dismissive and humiliated I felt by her. During the time that followed I never said a word to anyone because I really wanted to think about what had happened before I responded. Mariemont has a well-known history regarding the demographics that they've been passionate about keeping in their neighborhood. But I would've thought that being the only gift shop in the area that she would've taken into account that there might actually be Jewish people living in the neighborhood, that Hanukkah started way before Christmas and that there might be people who might be interested in getting some Hanukkah ornaments, Jewish or not. I feel the owner not only displayed her disdain for me as a Jew, but Chanukah in general. I decided to share what happened with close friends of mine, some of whom live in Mariemont much longer than myself or their whole lives, knew the Owner and some of her employees. Shocked and upset, they shared negative experiences. Out of respect for my friends and their privacy, and because it would be considered hearsay, I won't be giving the details of the experiences that were shared with me. But I will say that these individuals shared that either the owner or her employee(s) had disrespected them and/or their children if they did not recognize them to be a regular customer, or perceived them to be just someone that appears to be "different" or someone they preferred not to do business with. My friends, sharing their experiences with me and that this behavior towards me by the owner and her employee(s), was not just a one time thing, made me realize that responding to her directly in any way would be falling on deaf ears. If I owed a store such as this and someone came in asking for Hanukkah decorations and I didn't have any. I would offer to see what if I could get some and use this as a tool to remember in the future that I should have just a few in the store in case somebody does want anything. I do realize sometimes you have to buy in bulk, but even if products sit for several days, or even months or years, Isn't it worth it for good business to have it around just to be able to make that one Jewish person happy who might be interested in buying something. And you never know, someone who is not Jewish would enjoy them as well. This is a shop that if it were mine everyone would be welcome and no one would be ignored. any form of discrimination, or racism or antisemitism in my mind is never acceptable."

What I left with was 2 teachers gifts and a bunch of stuff for me! Meghan, the owner, was there when I walked in and she walked me through her whole store. She had so much personal knowledge about all of her products. I had a difficult time choosing because I wanted everything! I really appreciated the reasonable price range for a boutique! Meghan hand makes Anthropology's famous Volcano candles in a variety of adorable containers, at a fraction of the cost! Most importantly, Meghan uses her shop to help our community. She does sip'n shops for our schools, where a portion of the sales for that day are donated to the school. On small business Saturday, a portion of the sales are donated to a local food pantry. Businesses who help our community will always earn my loyalty. To sum up- it's the perfect spot for one-stop gift shopping! (Card and wrapping paper/bags available too!)

We ordered the tuna salad sandwich and the fried chicken sandwich. Both were on sourdough buns from 16 Bricks, also Cole slaw and tater tots. The sandwiches were large. Both were very good. The pickled red onions on the chicken sandwich were a nice touch, a little acid to cut through the fried chicken. The Cole slaw had the the right amount of dressing. It was very good. Tots were crispy, just right. Prices are very reasonable. It's a great little place! Certainly a return visit will be necessary!

I have been a customer of Amelia Florist for the past six years. I would say I visit not in…read morefrequently. Today an arrangement was done for me that I was very unhappy with. I took it back in and the customer service was outstanding. Client retention and value - all but lost art. The young woman and helping me (I wish I had gotten her name), was apologetic and promised to make it right. She and another team member immediately went to task, reworking the arrangement and adding flowers to make it fuller, asking for my feedback along the way. When they were finished, she made sure I was happy with it before boxing it up. She also threw in a little something extra for my trouble. Her words were what were most impressive. She said." thank you for trusting us with your business and for giving us the chance to make it right." Businesses everywhere can learn a big lesson here. They could've lost me as a customer. I was pretty ticked off when I walked in, but they won me back in a heartbeat and cemented my loyalty. Merry Christmas, Amelia Florist!
