The secretary I spoke with on the way out explained the nightguard, then handed me a piece of paper saying (I'm paraphrasing) "I agree to have this procedure performed at a later date and pay all costs." She told me "please sign at the bottom" agreeing that I EXPLAINED it to you, then let's talk about your next appointment." I said "I'm not comfortable signing because I don't want to go ahead with the procedure." She said "you're just signing agreeing I EXPLAINED it to you, not that you agree to pay and have it done." I said " that's not what the contract says." What if I believed her and signed, chose not to have the procedure done, and then noticed months later a $937 charge on my card? Could I later go back and say "she told me I was just signing agreeing that she EXPLAINED it to me, NOT to pay for the procedure?" They'd say "well, you signed it, so you're screwed." Luckily this didn't happen because I didn't sign, but I had another business scam me like this (Anytime Fitness) and they denied telling me that. The lesson is ALWAYS read what you sign and never trust what they tell you verbally. I can't prove this was the intent but it makes me VERY suspicious. Scheduled an initial intake at the Lakeville location and things went smoothly. Met with Dr. Molldrem and he was keen on everyone getting 'paid what they were owed' in the context of my insurance lowballing him. Mind you, the staff drive luxury SUVs and they have TWO locations. Several MONTHS later I have my teeth cleaning and not only could they not accommodate my allergies, they never had the intent to. Furthermore, they refused to coordinate care between me and my Medical Doctor to figure out appropriate treatment based on my Dr.'s medical orders. I asked politely to receive updates within the week regarding sussing out my treatment plan and they told me to get lost. I asked for recommendations on who else to go to if they couldn't get the job done and they told me to check with my insurance (HAH!). So here I am without any of the treatments they had agreed to help me work through. I called to file a complaint and the Eden Prairie location told me that this all had 'nothing to do with their professionalism' and that 'if I was unhappy with my care I could always find someone else'. I would say that treating me like a burden because I'm not filthy rich is a professionalism issue but whatever. Don't go here unless you love feeling awful.

I had no wait in their office for my annual check up & cleaning, except for the few minutes that I took to update my paperwork. The front desk staff was helpful when I explained my insurance doesn't mail cards for us to use at appointments, & they were able to get my benefit info any way. Graham took care of my annual exam, & Kelly took on my cleaning. Both were super professional & better yet, friendly! It was one of the most entertaining dental appointments that I have had because Kelly kept the conversation going & we chattered about high school & college reunions. The woman who has been at the front desk (her name escapes me) for awhile is also a delight to chat with when checking in and out. Please stay away from this office. They said I had to have 2 fillings as well and the other dentist said I was fine. They are all about getting the bill as high as possible. I am reporting this practice to the MN Board of Dentistry and the MN Attorney General.

My experiences with Dentist of Eden Prairie should be a word if caution to others. First I was charged for a cleaning that I did not have. If I had not checked the insurance form that came to me I would not have known. I had to let the insurance company know and ask for correction from Dentists of Eden Prairie. I do not know if the insurance company was reimbursed. Their explanation was a change in software. Months later on a Friday I needed a root canal and the result was terrible. I had had other root canals when I lived in Missouri - fairly easy procedure. Not with DEP. I bruised and a hard knot formed from my eye socket to my jaw. I called three times to their emergency service before I got a call back. It was a weekend was the explanation. The emergency service said the dentist would contact me within 2 hours or I should call the service again. Three call and I finally got a response. I was put on antibiotics for 10 days. It took nearly a month for the knot to completely dissipate. Then, in November I needed a new night guard. I was told it would take two to three weeks. I paid in full the day they did the scan. That was November 10. It is now December 26 and I still don't have the night guard.When I called after three weeks I was told they would call when it was in. I finally called back today and asked for the dentist to call me. Guess what - no call back. Be warned!

In April, I cracked a back tooth and went to my dentist. She told me I needed a root canal and a…read morecrown, but because her office does not perform root canals, she referred me to an endodontics clinic. I called that clinic and scheduled an appointment for the next day, but later learned they did not accept my insurance and that the procedure would cost $2,000 out of pocket. I told them I would try to find another endodontist who accepted my insurance and would get back to them. I then called Metropolitan Endodontics and asked whether they accepted BCBS. I was told they did, but that I would need to pay the full $2,500 upfront and would be reimbursed after insurance paid them. Based on that information, I scheduled an appointment for a few days later and canceled my appointment with the first clinic. I had the procedure done at Metropolitan Endodontics, and they did a great job. I paid in full using the Cherry plan, which covered the full amount upfront with no interest for one year. I expected this would give me time to receive the insurance reimbursement and then pay my portion later. I was surprised when my insurance company sent me a notification stating that Metropolitan Endodontics was out of network and had paid only $251.74. When I called Metropolitan Endodontics, I was initially told that I had not been told they accepted my insurance and that my bill was already paid in full. I explained that Cherry had paid the bill because I was told full payment was required, and I reiterated that I had been told they accepted my insurance. The representative put me on hold to review the recorded call and then confirmed that I had been told they accepted my insurance. She said someone from accounting would call me back after speaking with my insurance company, but I never received a call. I tried calling again, reached voicemail, and still did not receive a response. At minimum, I believe they should have charged me the $2,000 that the first clinic would have charged for the same procedure. They had to bring in staff from their Chaska office to staff other positions, too. I hate being surprised like this. And I just read in the paper that they want to go public in order to raise money to open more offices. They can't even staff the ones they have now!! For my next cleaning appointment she had to book me for 9 months out - - not the normal 6 months. What the heck is going on with their management?!
