As is to be expected, some are a little rougher than others but they always seem open to feedback if you need something done differently. Dr. Molldrem is also extremely friendly, and he is able to quickly perform exams so you don't spend too much time waiting around. The reason I've bumped my review down to 4 stars is that my family has occasionally had issues with miscommunications between the office and insurance companies regarding payment and coverage, leading to some confusion. But otherwise, we've usually had great experiences with Molldrem Family Dentistry!

Long story short, money-hungry, impersonable, and immature…read more Was recommended Moldrem by my insurance provider because they testified to my insurance that they could accommodate my allergies. Scheduled an initial intake at the Lakeville location and things went smoothly. Met with Dr. Molldrem and he was keen on everyone getting 'paid what they were owed' in the context of my insurance lowballing him. Mind you, the staff drive luxury SUVs and they have TWO locations. Several MONTHS later I have my teeth cleaning and not only could they not accommodate my allergies, they never had the intent to. Furthermore, they refused to coordinate care between me and my Medical Doctor to figure out appropriate treatment based on my Dr.'s medical orders. I asked politely to receive updates within the week regarding sussing out my treatment plan and they told me to get lost. I asked for recommendations on who else to go to if they couldn't get the job done and they told me to check with my insurance (HAH!). So here I am without any of the treatments they had agreed to help me work through. I called to file a complaint and the Eden Prairie location told me that this all had 'nothing to do with their professionalism' and that 'if I was unhappy with my care I could always find someone else'. I would say that treating me like a burden because I'm not filthy rich is a professionalism issue but whatever. Don't go here unless you love feeling awful.

The moment we stepped into the clinic, we were greeted by a space that felt more like a cozy café than a medical facility. Soft lighting, tasteful décor, and a genuinely welcoming vibe made the waiting area feel like a calm little retreat. They even offered complimentary coffee and water--small touch, big comfort. But here's the best part: there was no waiting around. Dr. Shetty greeted us right on time with a warm, approachable demeanor that immediately put us at ease. His attentiveness was remarkable... he listened closely, never rushed us, and took time to walk through the issue with clarity and empathy. What really stood out was his integrity. Although we were ready to go ahead with a more expensive treatment, he gently steered us away from it, explaining in detail why it wasn't necessary. It was reassuring to see a doctor prioritize what's right over what's profitable. In a world of rushed consultations and upsells, Dr. Shetty's honesty and care were a breath of fresh air. Highly recommend this clinic--not just for the skilled care, but for an experience that actually makes going to the dentist feel... pleasant. *A surprisingly delightful visit to the dentist!* Took a family member in for a molar-related issue, bracing for the usual clinical coldness--but this place turned that expectation on its head. I checked in with a few clicks on my phone and when I got there, I was checked in almost immediately, they had my details, insurance. I received a call from the dentist to tell me they had confirmed with the lab that my scans were received and they will try to expedite the order. I appreciate that perhaps they understand there was something amiss with this process. Update Number Two: I called this morning and asked for a call back by niw I am frustrated beyond comparison. The office closes at 5:00 so I call them yet again only to find out "the scans aren't in the system and I need to come in and start over with new scans". They will call the lab but according to Isabelle the soonest I can get the guard is Jan 10. Two month after this whole thing started. Why didn't they find this out after I called at the end of week three. When were they going to let me know? The dentist called tonight at 6:00 to let me know they couldn't find my scans. I wonder if I had not continued to call would they even know the scans had not been sent to or received by the lab, Who dropped the ball here? Update One.This is priceless. ONE of my concerns is they do not respond or call back. I posted this yesterday and now they post a reply here (on-line instead of calling me) for me to call them (I called yesterday and again today). My experiences with Dentist of Eden Prairie should be a word if caution to others. First I was charged for a cleaning that I did not have. If I had not checked the insurance form that came to me I would not have known. I had to let the insurance company know and ask for correction from Dentists of Eden Prairie. I do not know if the insurance company was reimbursed. Their explanation was a change in software. Months later on a Friday I needed a root canal and the result was terrible. I had had other root canals when I lived in Missouri - fairly easy procedure. Not with DEP. I bruised and a hard knot formed from my eye socket to my jaw. I called three times to their emergency service before I got a call back. It was a weekend was the explanation. The emergency service said the dentist would contact me within 2 hours or I should call the service again. Three call and I finally got a response. I was put on antibiotics for 10 days. It took nearly a month for the knot to completely dissipate. Then, in November I needed a new night guard. I was told it would take two to three weeks. I paid in full the day they did the scan. That was November 10. It is now December 26 and I still don't have the night guard. When I called after three weeks I was told they would call when it was in. I finally called back today and asked for the dentist to call me. Guess what - no call back. Be warned!

In April, I cracked a back tooth and went to my dentist. She told me I needed a root canal and a…read morecrown, but because her office does not perform root canals, she referred me to an endodontics clinic. I called that clinic and scheduled an appointment for the next day, but later learned they did not accept my insurance and that the procedure would cost $2,000 out of pocket. I told them I would try to find another endodontist who accepted my insurance and would get back to them. I then called Metropolitan Endodontics and asked whether they accepted BCBS. I was told they did, but that I would need to pay the full $2,500 upfront and would be reimbursed after insurance paid them. Based on that information, I scheduled an appointment for a few days later and canceled my appointment with the first clinic. I had the procedure done at Metropolitan Endodontics, and they did a great job. I paid in full using the Cherry plan, which covered the full amount upfront with no interest for one year. I expected this would give me time to receive the insurance reimbursement and then pay my portion later. I was surprised when my insurance company sent me a notification stating that Metropolitan Endodontics was out of network and had paid only $251.74. When I called Metropolitan Endodontics, I was initially told that I had not been told they accepted my insurance and that my bill was already paid in full. I explained that Cherry had paid the bill because I was told full payment was required, and I reiterated that I had been told they accepted my insurance. The representative put me on hold to review the recorded call and then confirmed that I had been told they accepted my insurance. She said someone from accounting would call me back after speaking with my insurance company, but I never received a call. I tried calling again, reached voicemail, and still did not receive a response. At minimum, I believe they should have charged me the $2,000 that the first clinic would have charged for the same procedure. Don't bother doing business with a company that can't deal with you honestly up front. I would not have gone there had I known. They couldn't even treat me with respect and call me back. Cheryl C

Some negative reviews have appeared here since my previous review, and so I wanted to share more…read moredetails about my experience with Dr. Dickey's practice over the many years. Choosing a new dentist can be a daunting task, especially after relocating. Establishing trust and confidence in care takes time. I hope the following insights will be useful to others, and will help them make informed decisions. Looking back, I had frequent issues with my teeth, typically needing fillings each year. After addressing the initial pressing concerns (back around 2013), and following advice from Dr. Dickey and Laurie (the best dental hygienist ever) my dental health has improved dramatically. Hardly any fillings have been needed since! The few that did need work, were old large fillings that become unsealed after a decade or two. Importantly, my gums have been healthy since. For specialized work, like crowns: I have had a number of crowns done prior to becoming Dr. Dickey's patient. One crown was done in Australia by an inexperienced dentist on a life tooth. In less than 18 months, decay appeared under the crown. Root canal had to be done, but the crown would no longer stay on. Two other dentists tried since to place new (traditional) crowns. First in Poland, and second in Texas. Each fell off as there was little tooth structure left to support it. Reattaching did not work. Combined cost kept growing. Dr. Dickey has a special machine that scans the tooth structure in your mouth, producing a 3D rendering of it. He then 3D "prints" a crown from porcelain right there in the office while you wait. Yes, it is like in a sci-fi movie. In one appointment you get a brand new, near-perfect-fit, porcelain crown created and placed, i.e., there is no need to go for a week or two without a crown while it gets hand crafted in a traditional way. Most importantly, the fit was so good that I have had no issues with it since... 7+ years. A very important part of keeping both your gums and teeth healthy is removal of plaque and tartar by a dental hygienist. Most hygienists out there will use an ultrasonic tool, quickly wizz around your mouth, do a few touch ups (if you are lucky) so at least nothing concerning shows when you look in the mirror. However, they typically do _not_ spend the time to manually scale your teeth, especially in-between the teeth. Keeping the tarter at bay between teeth and below the gum line is critical for preventing periodontal (gum) disease. Otherwise it will catch up with you sooner or later. Your gums will recede, exposing less protected part of your teeth, that will make them more prone to decay. Eventually, in advanced stage, you will loose your teeth. My family members have major periodontal issues, so by now I am well aware. My gums have also receded to some degree. The progress of the recession has been impeded through the diligent work that Laurie, a dental hygienist at Dr. Dickey's practice, has done over the years. It is near impossible to find someone else this thorough and experienced, and I am very fortunate to have this level of care. A few years back, we have moved from Eden Prairie, MN to San Jose, CA. Despite of this, my spouse and do I travel back annually to MN for teeth scaling and dental checkups. That is how highly we value the attention to detail and the care provided there. Organizing the visits and communicating with the office is always pleasant and effortless. This is thanks to Shannon at the front desk. Shannon is _always_ very positive, helpful and patient. We'll keep going back. I have highly recommended the entire practice to my family and friends. Hope this helps you too.
