Special shoutout to Sal for going through the extra trouble of locating a more suitable club for me when I wasn't really happy about the one they initially gave (& also bringing it right up to me at the range!) The driving range is pretty spacious & there are plenty (although it does get more crowded later on in the day). There are a few target practicing flags on the range as well. Somehow, there was a mix-up, and they double-booked us and another group for the same time slot. They sent us a confirmation email, but for some reason, our reservation didn't show up in their system. Despite the initial crowd at the start, there wasn't much of a slowdown, even though there was a group of five ahead of us. Maybe they were pretty skilled, and the course marshal was driving by to keep things moving at a steady pace. Me and my partner got paired with another lady and it was a good time. It was SOoo much better than last year in terms of speed of us getting through the course. I mean the grass and ground on the fairway is a bit dry and hard so balls do roll a bit farther... it is what it is at this time of the year. Don't expect a fancy course. It's mostly par 3's and 4's with one par 5 at the end. Decent course for a beginner who can at least hit a bit further. Pretty open space for most holes with only 17 being tricky with a huge fescue in between the green and the tee box about 115 yards out from the shortest tee box (green). Good course to dust off my rusty golf skills.

Yes, each course is different, and I prefer some over others but the service and course conditions are usually quite good. The Country Club, formerly Board of Trade, has been around for many years so it's a very mature track with lots of very large trees. We played the West Course and it has a very narrow fairways on the front nine and lots of changes in elevation throughout the course. I like that. Some fool convinced us to play from the blue tees and the rest of us, bigger fools, went along with it. I think that fool should pay for all of our lost balls! The service, as expected, was very good - pro shop, back shop, F&B. The food from the restaurant was tasty and the portions were generous. Prices were reasonable. There was, however, one glitch, we were overcharged for the round in the pro shop. I hope to have this corrected.
