A beautiful four poster bed with views of the Ohio river on the Scenic River Road and a beautiful tub made this an idealic place to start our lives together. The Inn did not survive the Covid pandemic and our attempts to stay here since have not been possible and some of the separate buildings have since been sold to others. The location across from the Overlook Restaurant at the historic and scenic Oxbow Bend of the Ohio river and proximity to I-64 make it a perfect location.

The outside looked like a small castle as we walked in the stained glass and wood working is stunning. Ricardo gave us some history and a tour. We stayed in the Victorian suit is the biggest room with very comfortable king sized bed with lace canopy. Couldn't be more pleased with the b &b the service and location. Ricardo made us feel so welcome and pampered. The breakfast was lovely and like he asked us when we prefer to be served so we could sleep in. The room was lovely and the whole place we immaculately clean .. and gorgeous décor. the backyard is quant .. seating areas. Great place to stay for romantic weekend away ... Was a great time for girls Weekend away. Great place to relax and enjoy. they do have free wifi and the password was in the room .. Tonight, when I was laying in bed, I once again thought of our stay here and my memory of it makes me want to go back and stay again over and over again. I had to search through my photos on my phone to remember the name of this place but I finally found it!...So many great things to say-From the couple that owns it and their hospitality, to all of the charm, authenticity, and character that this old home has to offer, to the amazing breakfast provided by the owner who used to be a chef! I still drool thinking about the eggs Benedict that she made me. Absolutely THEE BEST eggs Benedict I have ever eaten. None has compared since having hers. I would go back just to eat them and her hollandaise sauce. The rooms, too were just amazing. Clean, decorated so nicely and everything was renovated. They make sure you have everything you need as well. Just simply an amazing stay. I cannot say enough good things about this place and the owners. They're so kind, personable, and detail oriented. Regina and Fred own the inn. The are unbelievable cordial, caring and accommodating. Our room was so comfortable and we slept so well Regina is a trained chef and had gourmet breakfasts every day. She checked to make sure our tastes were met and each breakfast was so yummy. Great coffee. Cookies in our room The inn itself is an old home that has been done so nicely. Our room had a new bathroom and shower. We had everything we needed to relax. The grounds are prestigious. Norma and John really stepped out of their way and were happy to let us hang out hours after check out while we waited for a bad storm to bypass us on our way home. She kept wanting to send us away with food just like your grandma wants to! I highly recommend this to anyone looking for something more interesting than the usual hotel/motel/Holiday Inn!

The home is an incredible historic building on the iconic St James Court street in Old Louisville. The street is gorgeous and the Inn is right in the heart of it, right by all the beautiful fountains and blooming trees of early spring. There's a small patio on the front porch that, during nicer weather, you can sit and take it all in. My room was VERY comfortable, with a huge plush king sized bed, a spacious bathroom with heated towels, and stocked with toiletries and small bathroom appliances. I was only in town for 30 hours for a work event and by the time I got back to the inn that night I was EXHAUSTED. I slept like a baby. So much so that I slept right up until I had to leave for my flight the next morning, meaning I missed the included breakfast. But the offerings sounded fantastic. Pat is a wonderful, gracious, and warm host. I'd recommend a stay here in a heartbeat and look forward to my return.

From perfect food (David is amazing) and decorations to MY taste, this venue and staff does not disappoint. My fiancé and I could have picked any location, anywhere around the world to have our private and professionally executed wedding. We chose The Barn at Southern Grace. We simply have no regrets. We choose to rent the entire house as well but you don't have to do that. Renting the B&B for our family and friends from out of town provided a much more intimate event for us and allowed us use of the entire place with zero interference or interruption. It was like being in our own large fancy house. From the professionalism of the staff, the amazing cooked to order- personal choice- breakfasts to the personalization of everything you could think of that a bride might need, they accommodated and went over the top. There were many changes. They accommodated. From our wedding doubling in size of attendees, to the bridal party forgetting that they needed to leave one car at the house and the owner of this B&B driving me to my hair appointment the day of my wedding-the personal service is top notch. My parents couldn't be there. Theresa doubled as my mom and stayed with us to make sure that every single detail was perfect. We added extra people for breakfast; no problem. We changed the menu at the last moment; no problem. The use of the house that goes with this place is not required but it absolutely made a difference. David and his excerpt cooking are a quiet unsung accolade for this venue. The Barn at Southern Grace is one of the sweetest, coolest places to have a wedding-and it's recognized internationally. If you're looking for a venue you need to stop by and give Theresa and David some of your time. The staff is incredibly responsive to your needs. The package includes food, decorations, photography, the use of the venue, and anything else you need. When I asked for more photography they sent another professional photographer and the pictures are simply stunning. I happen to have a thing for llamas, and we went outside and I was able to feed them and our wedding pictures include them.
