Ratchet and rancid. This hotel, is NOT Making America Great. Poor plumbing, foreign staff, and an overall disgusting hotel. Sad!

Super 8 by Wyndham Corydon - King Room with Sofa

Super 8 by Wyndham Corydon

This place is absolutely ridiculous! The worst hotel I've ever stayed at!…read more When I 1st checked in the room, it smelled like mildew and the ceiling in the room and restroom is falling down. The sink in the bathroom and the toilet were loose. To to it off, the bed was hard and I could feel the springs. I went to the front desk asking to change the room, they said that water pipes busted and they didn't fix the ceiling or clean the carpet. They told me the hotel was full, although the parking lot was empty. They ended up switching me to a different room the following day. It was better, but the beds are terrible. When I was leaving, the hotel employees kept asking for my room key. It wasn't 11 and I wasn't done taking my luggage out.

Worried about her losing power and freezing to death I encouraged her to stay the week in town where it was safe(er). I live 15 hours away. 1st they told her she would have to give them a cash deposit. security and pet deposit . The website states plainly that they accept no cash. so, I called the manager and after 15 minutes of trying to understand what he was saying and all of his yelling , he finally let me pay the deposit with my card. Mom said the room wasn't terrible but moldy smelling and that her bed was extremely uncomfortable. She said breakfast was limited to a muffin and was scolded by management when she tried to take her meal to her room. He said in order to eat, you have to stay in the dining room. On the site it said breakfast to go. Just another lie.She said the temperature outside of her room was too cold for her. Mom checked out after the 2nd night. She said management made her feel. unwelcome and uncomfortable and she'd rather take her chances on freezing to death. Long story short , the hotel is unwilling to reimburse me for any of the unused remaining nights. I'm pretty sure they rented it out just as fast as they could have My bill for the week was $1174. My mother stayed 2 and 1/2 days . I will never stay at another Super 8 . It doesn't cost that much to be a decent human being. Wyndham should be ashamed to have their name attached to this establishment.

West Baden Springs Hotel - Newly renovated bowling alley

West Baden has now become a regular family destination. My family -- plus my mom, stepdad, siblings…read moreand their families -- just finished our second trip here. And it's safe to say that West Baden is now a family tradition. My parents spent a few days there to celebrate their anniversary, and then the kids all came to stay the last night, during Easter weekend. And we made the most of it. We started with bowling and pizza at the new Ballard's at the Atrium (see my review on that). My older niece then watched all the kids in one of the hotel rooms, while the adults got a drink in the expansive atrium and enjoyed looking up at the picturesque dome ceiling. The next morning, which was Easter, we found a quiet sitting area on our floor to have an Easter egg hunt with all the kids. These are memories we will cherish. We popped over to French Lick for brunch, though the Easter brunch set up in the atrium definitely looked delicious too. The staff is always excellent. We were able to call and get all of our rooms next to each other, which helped. Thanks for another fabulous mini-vacation, West Baden!

For a property seeming to target the upper middle market, I think there is a lot of value. They have many free amenities that most no longer do - no resort fee, no parking fee, free shuttle to the sister hotel and downtown. I also feel the pricing at restaurants is somewhat reasonable, particularly at happy hour. Add in amenities closer to a luxury property - evening music, nice indoor pool almost always open, and obviously just being in the unique dome... This is a winner. We found the service to be consistently friendly. We had no issues with getting help for our large amount of stuff at check in or check out. Very nice to our dog and he got a lot of treats for the pet fee. Dining service was on the slower side but seemed to fit the vibe. We stayed in a suite with two queens. It was large. The furniture was on the worn side but well maintained. Nice to see unique furnishings vs generic all white everywhere. Plenty for the kids to do. We enjoyed the newly restored bowling alley and found it nicer than the same priced one at French Lick Hotel. We did like going to French Lick for the shopping and to read about the history. There is a lot about the history everywhere, including the small museum (a large room) in the hotel. We were very happy and would like to return.

Hampton Inn Jasper - Exterior

Hampton never lets me down!…read more We came here after checking in a not so great hotel, and it was so different and lovely. It smelled fresh and clean, the staff was kind, and the bed was so comfty. Breakfast was good - obviously not restaurant level, but yummy. The oatmeal bar was fantastic! How anyone could give this place any less than 5 stars, I don't know.

The rooms are the best maintained I've in town across several work trips, the front desk, attendees are polite, helpful, and courteous, and it's located right in the middle of everything. It offers a large waiting pool, hot breakfast, and clean eggs, biscuits, sausage, waffles, and all the rest, and fresh, hot coffee, and cookies at the front are a nice touch. The downsides of noticed are that the sheets and beds, well comfortable pillow tops, seem to likely be synthetic and have me feeling confusingly, sweaty even with the air conditioner turned on, and the fitness room is long overdue for some very basic maintenance: the cable machine only has one side that works because the adjustment is broken on the other, and the weight bench adjustment knob has fallen off, keeping it flat and making a lot of exercise exercises not possible. Nonetheless, the pool is quite nice and large, and two treadmills, and elliptical, and a peloton spin bike are available.

They are dog friendly and service dog friendly, which is appreciated. We were given a magnet to put on our door stating that dogs were in the room for the hotel staff and other customers. The room smelled very clean and didn't give me any issues with my allergies. I always have to check and room out before I bring my things in. My nose is so sensitive. Lol. The only downsides that we found we the room keys. They didn't always take and open the door for us; but that doesn't mean the key didn't eventually work. Also, we had a small toilet paper roll and no extra toilet paper roll under the sink. We had Kleenex to use; but it honestly felt like sandpaper. The Cupboard had a variety of food items but seemingly pricy, as in 1 individual pop tart package was $2.00. The small kitchen inside the rooms were nice though. Full size fridge/freezer with 4 sets of silverware, plates, bowls and cups. It was nice to feel reassured that this establishment cares about sanitizing, when all of the dishes were newly cleansed in the dishwasher. All in all, it was a pleasant stay. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely come back.

Cons: no free breakfast, linen was mildewed and therefore made the whole room smell rotten. A/C is motion sensored and anemic. His means no A/C until you return to your room at night so you sweat as it tries to cool your room from 80 degrees. Then it turns off over night since you're sleeping and not setting off the motion sensor, so you wake up in a pool of sweat. Pretty darn unpleasant and the main reason for 2 stars Will I stay again? Absolutely not. "Energy efficient" is code for uncomfortable.
