Recently though, I stopped in to look at a boat I saw advertised on Boat Trader online. It was the boat I had been looking for casually for a couple of years. Ralph Stokley was super friendly and took me to the far showroom to see the boat. He was very helpful and answered all of my questions about the boat. I didn't have much time to check it over that day, but I went back in Tuesday (they are closed on Sundays and Mondays) for a more detailed inspection. Ralph was very patient as we throughly looked the boat over and asked a lot more questions about the boat' history, trailer, etc. I decided I couldn't pass it up and so Ralph took me up front to fill out all the paperwork. This was my 1st purchase from a dealer and the staff was super helpful and friendly. They fixed a couple of minor things on the boat plus installed some fender clips for me. They also did a complete walk-through of the boat and trailer. The best part about shopping here is the personal touch. They know me by name and greet me each time I stop in there. The prices are a bit higher but I think it's worth it for the selection and level of service.

There is also a new playground setup that covers a wide range of age gaps between people that visit. The dog park available next to the playground is very spacious and never really crowded at most times of the day. The park is massive and never really has any crowding problems even at the two basketball courts or on the water. The pond is open to fishing and boating (in separate places of course) which is nice for families that don't have access to a pool and want to go swimming while allowing people to fish if they want. Overall, the park is very spacious and looks enjoyable to all that visit.

Our puppy loved the ducks (and these were some FRIENDLY and INTERACTIVE ducks...) and we experienced some other cool avian sightings. Not a surprise - but the restrooms were suitably scary and during the first part of our visit, the overcast and gray sky made the cement building feel ripe for a horror movie experience... compete with a scary service truck and a man in stained overalls. (Please note, the gentleman was actually very friendly and engaging and was hard at work - he was not in any way a negative presence). The park is expansive and it was actually really busy for a Thursday evening. The dog park was intriguing but we ran out of time to visit. The play area had something for all ages and was popular with children through teens. Loads of parking and the shelter area was great for a school gathering. Can't wait to visit again!

Our daughter had spent part of her growing-up years here in Frankfort, where my husband and I have lived for 50+ years. She enjoys introducing her Colorado daughter to the beautifully forested, living beauty of Kentucky's natural world. Before departing the dock, we enjoyed browsing in the gift shop, with a great assortment of caps, tee shirts, memorabilia, and some Ale8! Upon boarding the boat, the crew offered a bourbon service that would rival most any local selection. We all enjoyed lovely bourbon refreshments! Together with visitors from Tennessee and other nearby states, we learned some Kentucky River geography and history, along with equine, bourbon, and horse racing history. The captain was skillful and knowledgeable, as she cruised the riverboat on the sunny Sunday afternoon. The tour guide was a true font of history with amusing anecdotes of his personal career in the bourbon industry and his overall knowledge of the Commonwealth. Treat yourself, your family and your friends to an altogether enjoyable, educational, and Kentucky-based adventure-- spend some time on the riverboat! You'll be glad you did! He was friendly, engaging and humorous. The round trip ride lasted about 90 minutes. The boat was very nice with bench seating and the ride was smooth. We sat upstairs in the open air to enjoy to scenery. A bar tender will take drink orders and deliver beverages to your seats. Drink prices are reasonable. Drinks can also be ordered and purchased on line. (I think snacks were also available). We booked our cruise several months in advance with tour and tasting tickets at Buffalo Trace Distillery. Two members of our party backed out and we were able to cancel their reservations (thankfully) the week before and get a refund. We started with our visit to Buffalo Trace. We arrived about an hour early so we could shop at the distillery and we were glad we did because we did not have time to shop after the tasting and getting to the boat. The tight timeline between the tasting and the boat departure was the only downside to the trip. I recommend the cruise, but plan on going at least an hour early to the distillery to shop.

The catfish was freshly fried in cornmeal and in strips . It was not greasy and was served piping hot. It had a wonderful taste, crispy cornmeal outside and tender white meat inside . My meal was excellent with only one complaint.... I did not care for their hush puppies . It had an odd bitter-sour taste. But with delicious catfish, hush puppies are not a priority in my book lol.

The parking lot is so jammed around the ramp that it makes it highly difficult to access the ramp. The slips supposedly offer water and electric but the electric to ours did not work. Worse yet, we pulled our boat out for repairs and came back to find a barge owned by the marina parked in our slip and we could not put our boat back in. All of this in spite of paying nearly $2,000 for an annual slip fee. Did not get even a half a year use as our slip was taken after paying upfront. There was no notification by the marina that they were confiscating our slip or to ask us if we were returning. Just had to pull our boat home and leave it during a beautiful late summer and fall. Just a highly disappointing experience.

I picked the Taylorsville option even though it is about 40 minutes from our house. The instructor was fantastic and very encouraging. We had to paddle for 3/4 of a mile to get to the yoga spot, where we anchored and became one with nature. It was so peaceful on the lake :) I am not in shape or very good at yoga, but I was able to keep up with the instructor and get a nice workout. After yoga we chose another hour of paddle boarding. While paddling around I saw a little turtle and several schools of fish. I was first introduced to Endless Summer Paddle and Coffee through a Yelp event.
