I had a scare with blurry vision that turned out to only be a cataract. I thought I was too young for cataracts and worried for the worst. Dr. Barbara (Koslov) fit me into her evening slot (or maybe stayed late for me). I am new to the area and it was my first time seeing her, but she treated me like I was a long-time patient. She was very kind and very very thorough. She felt like it was only a cataract, but the sudden onset of my blurry vision concerned her and she dialed the phone right then and there after 6pm and called a colleague who agreed to see me first thing the next morning. It all ended up to only be the cataract, but I really appreciate how she followed through and kindly helped me. I now have two referrals from her for cataract surgeons and I look forward to seeing clearly again. read more

Went here during the COVID-19 pandemic and the staff here was friendly and phenomenal about making sure everything was clean. Dr. Barbara was kind and compassionate as always, making sure to take care of all my questions and needs. Second appointment with her (first was to get contacts, this one was to change from biweekly to dailies) and she made sure to guide me to the perfect fitting contacts. I simply adore Dr Koslow and she is the only reason why I have continued coming to this practice. However, the front desk has always been awful. And today may have been the last straw. Completely unprofessional as all your information is discussed right in the open in the waiting area in front of other patients I suggest they change the reception area to only greet patients and have a more private area to discuss billing and insurance issues. Over the years, I have struggled in finding an eye doctor and office that was both professional and friendly. With Kinnelon Eye Care we have found both. They are welcoming and willing to work with your insurance to get the most out of your investment. The Dr was knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. Their prices are ridiculous, their selection of frames leaves a lot to be desired, the sales clerk cannot negotiate the price of glasses and refers you to the boss. The boss in turn says he'll discuss it with the sales clerk and no-one ever gets back to you. Not sure who actually works for who. Avoid if at all possible! read more

I started going to Kinnelon Eye Care after I had a bad experience with another local eye doctor who was very arrogant and flippant. I have been going to Dr. Niki Patellis for several years now. She is very nice, thorough, explains everything clearly and patiently and also listens. I feel very confident in her care. On one occasion I had an eye emergency and Dr.Patellis was not in so Dr. Koslow took care of me. She was also very good. read more

I must agree zero stars. I went here multiple times to get the correct feeling lense and just never happened. I saw 2 different doctors. Then the lenses they sent me were definetly the wrong ones and when i called they were no jelp whatsoever. I never returned for the follow up and they never even noticed. THE WORST!! I've been coming here for years and the service has just gotten worse and worse!!!! I had an appointment at 10:15 and am still in the waiting room, it is 11:00. No one has said anything about what the hold up is or anything. I've been having problems with my eyes since March of this year and the doctor has only been able to help through trial and error. The lack of respect and knowledge of the eye are appalling. I don't understand. Getting my files and finding a new doctor. I suggest you do not ever come here!! read more

My wife and I took our 14 yo sone here after our school told us he may need to have his eyes checked out. My self I have never had to deal with a opt. So I felt like they were very helpful with us trying to learn something we knew little about. I learned a lot and feel like we got great help. read more

I don't understand the negative posts here. I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes when I show up for my appointment. Dr. Patellis has been SO helpful and patient with all my questions. The follow up exams have always been very thorough. I don't know what else to say. I moved almost 50 miles away and I still come back because of how nice everyone is and how comfortable I am that I receive quality care. read more

Everyone here is friendly and most of all professional. They do a great job from the front desk all the way through. I see Dr. Barbara who worked with me extensively to get my contacts right. Glasses are quite expensive if you choose to purchase them, but you are getting top quality and service. Based on my experience other places, I can not stress enough how competent and professional this place is. They do NOT pressure you, and do work with your budget. For years I used a larger "box" eye care facility because it was close to my home. After many years of struggling with getting the correct Rx (they couldn't figure it out) someone recommended that I try Kinnelon Eye Care. All I can say is WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! I had the most complete exam I have ever had AND I FINALLY got the RIGHT Rx!! I CAN SEE!!! I am sooo grateful to Dr. Nicki for taking the time to let me try different contacts and evaluate which ones were right for me. Doctor Barbara Koslow is professional and a great doctor , I have been going to her for about 7 years. I went to kinnelon eyecare today to purchase a $ 400.00 pair of glasses. I walked in to where the glasses are displayed looked around for about 5 minutes patiently waiting for someone to help me, there wasn't anyone that came to help. I went to the front desk and asked if there was an optician available . She responds well you just walked by the front desk, I didn't know you needed help. That response was rude , what do you think I was doing in the store. She gets me an optician , he pulls me up in the computer then tells another employee can you take her I am going to have my eyes checked now by another employee. She starts to help me , I am looking on the computer at color options for glasses and she gets up and walks over to another customer leaving me sit there for ten minutes. I tell her I am sorry are you going to help this women because I am here waiting , she replies yes we are short staff today. I would have waited another 20 minutes for her to finish up with a customer that came in after I did. She told me I would have to wait ,I told them they were rude and I will no longer be a customer there because the staff is always short and rude except for Barbara the optician she is very professional. To bad the doctors have to lose client for something they have no part in.There were other opticians there in the back room talking and laughing one of them the husband of an an eye doctor there and the other one was having his eyes checked. Apparently the employees don't care about customers because they will make you wait while they are kidding around in the back room . I know the employees there cause I have been going for many years. So they basically lied and said they were short staff to take care of there own selfish needs. Customer service used to be good here years ago but not anymore. I highly recommend Kinnelon Eye care they are very caring and took me and immediately for an emergency when I had a scratched cornea. Very professional and just overall great care. We just moved here from out of state and hadn't chosen a new eye care place yet. My son's glasses broke, so I came here out of convenience. They were so nice & friendly that all four of my family members are now patients here. The care is excellent, the office is conveniently located with great hours for working parents, and the prices are very reasonable (they accept our vision insurance). read more

Today I spent about an hour looking for new everyday glasses as well as sunglasses. The technician that helped me was amazing; helpful, sweet, knowledgeable. I got new frames for my glasses at Kinnelon Eye Care and one of the lenses was scratched when they gave my glasses back to me. The manager was extremely rude when I told him. He refused to admit that they scratched my lenses. He didn't offer to replace the scratched lens. Instead he implied that I scratched them and I was lying to him. My lenses were not scratched when I dropped them off. I was forced to use a onetime warranty to get the lens replaced somewhere else. I was absolutely appalled by his behavior. If you want to get eyeglasses, I recommend going somewhere where they won't scratch your lens and blame you for it. It's unbelievable that a manager would treat a customer the way he treated me. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

Likely changing doctors. First, appointments are never on time. Procedures take much longer than necessary and you will never be finished in a timely manner. The worst part, by far, is the feeling that you're being taken advantage of. The last two appointments I've had, I've been convinced that I needed two additional services performed, costing both more time and money. Neither time were either of these services addressed prior to the visit, but only after I'd nearly finished and been on my way. If you've ever received an estimate on a time and price from a mechanic only to be charged double and wait twice as long, you'll understand the practices here. Eye care is thorough and professional, but business practices are unethical and customer satisfaction is entirely neglected. IfI've also always loved the receptionists but the one today was rude and shut me down without a thought or conversation. Extremely disappointed in a place I've gone nearly all of my life. read more
