I had an issue with roller blinds I purchased from KCB less than 6 months ago. The installer came right away on a Saturday. However, I was blamed for jamming the shade, when in reality, it was the same installer who put the stoppers in the wrong place the first time. I don't know if it was an honest mistake, incompetence or intentionally done so he could come back and charge for a repair that cost me almost $200. Be careful! read more

I was drawn to this location based on their five star home star rating. (There didn't seem to be anything for YELP). They are not in my selection set for final carpet installation. Easy access and parking, and a wide selection of carpet. The In-store service was adequate but product knowledge and expertise was lower than the three other dealers I met with. They do allow samples to be taken home which is helpful. Their quote was 60% higher than my careful calculations ( stairs & area rugs). The quote was hurriedly sketched out on a paper pad, and I was pressured to close a deal before he left. I contrast that to a much more professional and detailed quotes that came from competitors and spot on to my own estimates. (How hard can it be with $/ft material and $/linear foot finishing). Kingsway is off the contact list for me. read more

My wife left work early so we can reach there before they close yesterday. We reached at 4.50pm because their open hours are listed until 5.30pm. The sales person told us they close at 5pm. We told them we we thought the store close at 5.30 which is why we came at this time so we thought we could at least look at the blinds for the next 5 to 10 minutes and leave before 5. The sales person was irritated, itching to close the store and told his co-worker in front of us "this is the second day in a row that this happens". He was rude and extremely unprofessional; as if we are at fault that their hours are listed wrong. I am sorry but this kind of attitude is not going to earn my business. We had plans to have blinds installed by them throughout the whole house including motorized ones, after reading all the good reviews. We will look elsewhere. read more

During our initial conversation the owner was extremely rude and went out of his way to NOT help. I didn't have an opportunity to use their service as I would never deal with a company that treats a customer this poorly BEFORE they make a sale. What if their was a problem AFTER they had my money! My wife and I are extremely happy with Kingsway Carpets and Blinds services. The curtains in our bedroom were too thin to block the sun from entering our room. Plus it would heat up our room during the summer, making it uncomfortable for us to sleep in. So we called up Kingsway, and the owner came to our house, measured our windows and suggested the right kind of blinds to install that would fulfill our needs, as well blending seamlessly with our over-all aesthetic decor (my wife is an interior designer, so she's extremely picky). I purchased faux wood blinds some years ago from Kingsway for the coach house I lived in. I did not do a comparison shop as I really needed to replace the blinds I had and it was close to Christmas, so I cannot comment on the price (although it did seem quite expensive). The service was OK, although they wouldn't have scheduled the installation when promised until I called to follow up. I recently moved and while I felt sure the windows in my new place were wider than the blinds, I went in to Kingsway to ask if they could have someone come and give me some advice as to whether I would be able to use the blinds. The young lady I spoke with said the only way would probably be to centre them on the windows; she didn't have anyone available for at least 2 weeks and she said she would call me in 2 weeks to schedule. I did not receive a call so I called to follow up; they did have my details and said again that the only way if they didn't fit would be to centre them. I reiterated that I wanted someone to advise me first; evidently that is someone different from an installer so again I was told someone wouldn't be available until mid-August and if I could wait they would call to schedule. Again I have not heard back and in the meantime, spoke to Home Depot and another person they referred me to, to discuss the issue. Turns out I will have to purchase new blinds; I have placed an order with Home Depot. Not saying I would have purchased them from Kingsway, but they could have lost a sale here had their follow up been as promised. They could learn something from Home Depot's service and timeliness! On a side note, since it's several years since I purchased the blinds from Kingsway, I suspect the pricing now would be much more than I am paying. read more

The product is great (which I attribute to Hunter Douglas, not Kingsway Blinds) and the pricing was very fair. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. Dealing with this company was a nightmare. The day my blinds were to be installed, they gave me a 2 hour window where the installer would arrive. But then he arrived 2 hours late for that window. My entire day was wasted waiting for him. I asked for him to do me a small favor by moving pre-existing curtains from one window to another and I was told I would have to ask the owner (George). When I spoke with George and explained that I felt this was a fair compromise for the inconvenience he caused, he gave me a massive lecture about my bad attitude, trying to get something for free, and how I needed to learn how to speak with people. Next came the installation. The installer left hairline cracks in all of the frames surrounding my windows. Moreover, they ordered the wrong blind. I paid for the silhouette with a deux room darkening, and they forgot the room darkening blind. Had to re-order the blind, which took another 3 weeks and then wait for the installer to come again. Throughout this entire process, not a single apology was issued, nor was I contacted to inquire if I was satisfied (which I am not). Honestly, all of the circumstances above would have been totally forgivable, were it not for the terrible attitude of the owner George. I have never been talked down to like that in my life! The Hunter Douglas Silhouette blinds are fantastic! Do yourself a favor and buy them somewhere else. Terrible business! read more

I bought carpet for my 7x8' home office in 2009. I had them finish the edges so I could lay it like a rug. The fit was perfect and even after years of use it still looks great. The carpet roll it was cut from was wider than my needs. They finished the edges of the excess piece for free making it a rug. read more

We ordered the hunter douglas automatic blinds for a loft with 17ft windows. our blinds had to be custom ordered because of the length.. Their quote was within reason and comparable to their competitors. We went with Kingsway Blinds because they had the colour we wanted and the turn around time was 10 days sooner than others read more
