The staff were extremely helpful and patient throughout the whole process, providing us with tips while also giving us space to do our own thing. They really played a huge factor in our experience being so positive. The place is clean and has a cozy environment... they even have snacks at the front that you can purchase, but my friend and I brought bubble tea back to sip on while we worked and they were fine with that. We definitely believe the tufting workshops are worth it for what you get... highly recommend!

They have all sorts of supplies for your fabric colouring needs: fibre reactive dyes, acid dyes, pre-reduced indigo, pigments, resists (wax and gutta), silk dyes and paints, polyester dyes (wow!), screenprinting supplies.. the list goes on* They also carry fibre arts/textiles-related books, dyeing related equipment and a decent selection of white fabrics like silks and cottons. Be warned, the fabrics are a little pricier here than you might find in a fabric store - I suppose for the convenience of being a one-stop shop. Dixon, the owner/proprietor, is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. And since it's such a specialty store, you're almost always guaranteed attentive service since there's usually no more than one or two customers at a time. Had them cut rods but they weren't cut properly even though the measurements were CORRECT and they won't do anything about it. Thought about having them install curtains too but when we realized that Mark, the owner, chooses (on a whim or based on how he's feeling that day) who gets a better price for such services, we opted out. It's hard to support small businesses when this is how they run their business - especially when it's something custom and so specific like curtains, rods, etc!

Window owners everywhere, this is a window covering solution you won't find at any hardware store. If you have a ceiling or bulkhead that sits directly on top of the window frame -- that is, there's no wall space between the top of the frame and the ceiling -- you've probably done what everyone does in that situation: mount a half-moon style rod hook on the frame itself. So you know what happens: you can see the top of the frame above the top of the curtains, and you get a line of light coming in at the top, because the curtains can't sit high enough to cover the whole window. Well, Mark's got an app for that. :-) Ask him for the ceiling-mounted rings. They come in all the same colours as the rods. Oh, and you MUST buy the rods, too. You know the kind you get in hardware stores, the expandable kind? You know how they sag in the middle because they're not sturdy? And how your curtains get stuck in the gap? And then you have to pull too hard on them, and the next thing you know you've ripped that cheap rod hook right out of the wall? Well, so far, I've bought... let me count in my head...six sets of solid rods and ceiling supports from Mark, and they're the greatest things. I keep showing all my clients and tenants, and they're amazed they've never seen such a simple curtain solution anywhere before. I tell them, just go see Mark at The Drapery King.

Shoot, sometimes I just wanna stop by to play with Fei and Aaron's cute wittle doggies. hehe. The folks here are very understanding and caring, knowledgable, and truly artistic. Good pricing and a nicely structured curriculum. I really recommend this place for growing artists. But, that doesn't mean the novice should shy away. First time here, came for a birthday party…read more Parking is ok, along the back, theres about 9 spots. First impression of the place was very nice. All this art work displayed in the staircase, hallways, bathroom, workshop.. everywhere!! It shows the quality of art that is produced from this place. All the art displayed was impressive!! It actually is a cozy place. The workshop area is neat and tidy. I chatted with the owner - Fei , and she let me know that she has classes for every level and all ages. There are one day classes available on P.A days, and there are weekly classes, but anyone who is thinking of starting in one of the available programs can try a one day session to see what its all about. My daughter had a really fun time at this birthday party. She painted a butterfly and took it home. 4.5 stars for overall first experience. I'm sure, the next one will bump it up to a 5 !!

I've always wanted to have California / Plantation interior shutters, so I started to do my…read moreresearch online. After visiting hundreds of websites, sending countless emails, and visiting many stores and manufacturing facilities, I decided that I specifically wanted a more premium product: Eclipse Shutters. The cheaper looking aesthetic and lower quality construction of other competitor products simply did not compare. From there, I emailed every major Eclipse Shutters dealer in our area and waited for responses. I quickly learned that there are 2 different methods in how most respond: some provide you with a proper preliminary quote (Yes! Thank you!) and others do the equivalent of a sky-high initial number with the buy-now-and-save-huge tactic (I'm not a fan of this method at all). As you can tell, I am quite particular and had a very specific aesthetic that I was aiming for. Thankfully, I found Kamfair Drapes and they were perfect from beginning to end! Jennifer responded quickly, professionally, and answered my countless questions (even the questions that drilled down into the smallest details). Plus, Jennifer's quotations were clear, transparent, and included check and measure and taxes (as opposed to many others who didn't even mention that check and measure was separate and additional until after I asked for clarification: sneaky!). After a few emails back and forth, my wife and I did an initial visit to Kamfair Drape's Markham showroom and liked that they had a larger assortment and display section of Eclipse Shutters available to see, feel, and try. (Most other shops we visited were disappointing as they only had one small section or panel to see in-person, which made it harder to visualize what things might look like in our own home.) Once our aging windows were replaced, Jennifer came to our home to complete some initial measurements. She arrived on-time and was very knowledgable. She told us the different pros and cons of each option and showed us what would work best in our different spaces. Once the specifications were decided upon, Andrew came to do the final check-and-measure and it was great hearing his additional insight, plan of action, and care for his clients through the different generations of this family owned-and-operated business. A few weeks later, Andrew returned with all of the shutter panels and installation hardware. He brought tarps to cover the floor and had disposable booties to cover his shoes, which we appreciated. One of the concerns I had early on was that our new window sills were made of vinyl (instead of wood), which meant that they might not support as much weight and that no mistakes could be made (as you can't redo it like you can on wood). I was happy with Andrew's patience, expertise, and attention to detail in ensuring that everything was done correctly the first time and with minimal mess. Long story short, we reached out to many different Eclipse Shutters dealers in the GTA and Kamfair Drapes was definitely the most helpful, knowledgeable, straight-forward, and friendly! We would (and already have) recommend Jennifer and Andrew of Kamfair Drapes to anyone looking for window coverings.
