My parents have been coming here for decades adoring the touch tunes on the wall, the pool tables that may or may not work, and the service. Well, you may have to yell across the bar multiple times but you'll get your drink. But you'll get it. And the prices for those icy good suds? Cheap. Sam provided terrible service as a bartender. Had the worst attitude and should never serve again. He purposely would ignore my request for drinks without any merit. For the record, on my Google review for this mess of a place, I'm not sure whom the owner talked to but I was not told to leave as I left on my own. Otherwise, it's definitely a lie from the owner himself to save face, which isn't helping resolve the real issue(s). As a business owner myself, I can see how this bar has stayed the same for years apparently, without much growth. I've never had service where I had to literally raise my hand just to get the bartender's attention, several times at that. This place is extremely unprofessional and that kind of demeanor should NEVER be tolerated at a workplace, even for a rundown bar. Word of advice: it should be wise to get our facts straight before simply "hearing" about things, and then proceeding to try and protect your already inadequate staff. Do better, get your staff to work on their customer service skills, and make sure they're doing their job professionally before others start complaining about it as well. I highly don't recommend this place. Everyone else can do better, unless you're okay with bad service, horrible seats and furniture that can cause injuries, and a mediocre atmosphere. read more

So happy I found this bar! The crowd was completely mixed and the karaoke was going 100% This little bar has a little bit of everything: Karaoke...Yes! Pool tables... Yes! Dart boards... Yes! I am a Steelers fan, no better way to watch the game then a Steelers bar. It is now half time and nobody (servers )has bothered to ask if I would like something to drink, eat, nothing. Not even a FU... servers have pass by me not even 5 ft away. I would invite my fellow steeler fans to come visit my Steelers bar "Buxy's Salty Dog Saloon" in Ocean City MD. Pure dive bar bliss. I'm rating based on the experience you'll find on a Monday or Saturday night when they have karaoke with KJ Franky. The karaoke typically starts around 9 and is probably one of the best karaoke experiences in town. You can sign up for songs on your phone and the song list is phenomenal. The bartenders are true pros, working quickly in even a packed house, serving generous pours with friendly service. The clientele is also incredibly varied, where you might see an old man on oxygen go up to sing a song followed by someone that just turned 21, and everyone else in between. Be warned. This is an old dive bar. If you like strong cheap drinks and want to belt out your favorite tunes in an accepting environment, this is the place for you. If you want fufu drinks in a room with special attention paid to interior design, you're in the wrong place. Take a group of friends on a Saturday night and sing your heart out. read more

First thing I noticed is they had a good 90s rock band. The drink prices were great. For less than 40 bucks the four in my party had a good selection of beer to select from. We did notice that the wait staff and bartenders ignored a few patrons, so I highly recommend tipping or else you'll sit there with the same empty bottle of beer. Always looking for a Dive I can go to, get great service and see no one from work. The bartenders were talkative, wasn't crazy packed and attracted a regular local crowd. Don't know that last time I paid for Shiner at under $3/bottle, so that was awesome. The music being put on the jukebox by the regulars was awesome, if my girlfriend had been with me I'd have moved a table and two-stepped a bit. As dive bars go, this one is alright. I just went back after it reopened and have to say I think it has improved. At least the waitress was cute and friendly and not a bruiser like the previous ones. They have lots of TVs with all the football you can eat. Beware of the obnoxious Steeler fans. Beer is very cold and the burgers from next door Lucy's make for good bar fare. The people are always friendly and willing to just hang out or play pool, shuffleboard or darts. The bartenders are quick and so friendly. Saturday night is karaoke. Wide range of singers and music genres. You can play the jukebox from an app on your phone. I can't say enough about this place. I have so much fun every weekend. There is an outdoor area perfect for nights when it isn't too cold out. Try it you won't be disappointed. This place is an institution in El Paso and has been around since the 60s so keep that in mind. Edit: I previously said great food. I need to be more specific. The food comes from the restaurant next door, Lucy's. I love the mechacas burrito and salsa. Those are the only things I eat there. I have had the queso and found it to be not so good. Therefore, I stand by the bar stuff and the mechacas. There is plenty of parking in the back and clean bathrooms. Children have been spotted here during the daytime. I personally have not taken my child here yet and not really sure that I will since it is mommy's hideout. read more

Went in here to check out the place after being told it was a Steeler bar. Website shows a bunch of Steeler stuff, but when I visited in August 2009, there was only one piece of signage up. So if you are going for a game, just be aware that it isn't heavily decorated like most Steeler bars. Other than that seemed like your average dive bar, was busy the Saturday afternoon we stopped in. I would likely go back if I was in the area, but not sure I would make a trip there solely for the purpose to hang out. It had a locals hang out vibe to it, and seemed pretty low key but I have my own local dive that is closer. read more

Great place to go hang out. I've been going to the King's X for 7 years especially on Karaoke nights. Taylor is such a great bartender and always know just how I like my drinks. KJ Franky is awesome too and he gets pretty busy nights at the King's X. He's very lively and informative about his shows. I love how comfortable I feel at this bar, some bars just don't feel right or service always suck but not at the King's X! Also they have great prices and specials every day of the week. read more

The bar is a great neighborhood bar with a lot of class A friendly regulars from all walks of life. Teddy one of the owner is perty much always drunk and let's his staff run the joint, the other Chet is minority owner is obnoxious and smells. While some of the waitresses are nice and attentive, the great majority are fat rude and give horrible service.( what could be expected of a bar where the owners get drunk in) Teddy is a good guy and has homeless guys living and showering inside the bar wish explains the smell. 5 stars!!! Walked into this place on a Sunday afternoon in Oct. and i was shocked to say the least. There were about 250 mexicans drinking beer, crushing tacos and all wearing Pittsburgh Steelers jerseys watching the Steelers game having blast. I'm not a Steelers fan but, i have to say it was awesome! They have Sunday Ticket so all NFL games were on. Great food and awesome place to watch a ballgame. Awwww yes the kings x. This place is just a great hangout! The juke box is always going, the beer always flowing. Not to mention its spacious and the patio is awesome. It's a dive bar and does divey things well. (When I went back to the bathroom around 830 pm, there was an old man surrounded by food on his table leaning back in his chair passed out). I think I prefer Lloyds down the road a ways better for my dive experience (plus their drinks are waaay stronger). But the people there were nice. I'd say 95 percent of the clientele was 45 year old men and up. The other five percent of females were the staff. King's has a lot of personality for a dive bar and has apparently been there forever. I hear they have karaoke Monday and Saturday so maybe I will try that out. Karaoke has a special effect on me if and if good, often leads to higher stars. Its true, I can be bought. But Lucy's is attached next door and they have awesome machaca. So if get a hankering for some food then Kings X and its proximity to Lucys raises it a star. read more
