After checking it out, it reminded me of the corner Chinese restaurants in Brooklyn. The cashier was very friendly and made some recommendations as to what is most popular. We had been wanting to try a new place. We were shopping in the center where King's Wok is located so came by to pick up some food for dinner. We ordered egg rolls, shrimp toast, wonton and hot & sour soups, pork fried rice, Mongolian beef and shrimp in lobster sauce. The Good: The shrimp toast were delicious. Mongolian beef was good though not spicy enough for me. Shrimp with lobster sauce was good. The Not so Good: The pork fried rice was a weird yellow-unlike regular fried rice. The flavor wasn't bad but it was just ok. The Bad: The wonton soup-wontons had a tiny amount of meat. The hot and sour soup wasn't very spicy. My husband described the egg roll as different. It was...and not in a good way. There was missing something. I spoke to someone else who went there regularly and he loved it. So, there may be other things that are better-like the chicken noodle soup and lo mein that he ordered. He did say they would make adjustments to the foods which is great for people with food allergies. Another good thing is the price. I love Chinese food takeout, and frequently try new places--some randomly. That was the case with King's Wok. I was doing business in the area, decided to give it a try. I rarely give a restaurant a bad review. Sometimes I think the meal/service/whatever didn't warrant a return visit but wasn't terrible. In this case I felt the need to write a review--it was terrible! The Krab Rangoon (my favorite thing on a Chinese restaurant menu) had no crab, imitation or other, no scallions or anything green--they were thin, greasy not crispy, and filled with a dab of sweet cream cheese. They were, without a doubt, the worst Krab Rangoon I have ever had. The wontons tasted like old grease. The bone-in ribs were mostly just bone. One was actually just a sauced bone without an ounce of meat on it. There is no way the person packaging them didn't see that they were literally sending out a bag of bones. The little bit of meat there was was tough and chewy. The sweet and sour chicken had a thin batter and were fried so hard that they were rubber. The shrimp fried rice had no taste. Well here's a list: Egg Foo Young Chow Mein Protein w/ Broccoli Steamed Vegetables Happy Family Anything w/ Lobster Sauce I always stay away from Lo Mein, Egg Rolls, Crab Wontons, Fried Rice, and the aforemention breaded proteins. All of those items are too oily, and most Chinese restaurants don't change the oil in their Fry-o-lator regularly, so why risk it? I ordered Pork Egg Foo Young, Chicken w/ Broccoli, and Sauteed Mixed Vegetables. The sauce for the egg foo young was weak, but the egg foo young had bits of ginger (which I really liked). The sauce for the chicken w/ broccoli and the mixed veggies was the same sauce. I first called to order the food and the woman who answered the phone was the rudest woman I have ever talked to! Seriously it is that bad!!!! A few co-workers about a month ago went there and gave them some cash to grab me something too. I requested the lemon chicken with crab puff. As i worked hard and steadily and also anxiously waiting for my lunch my first bite of food came o too soon.
