Obviously his small minded opinion is beyond a court of law, Beware!!! Your entering a goldfish bowl area here... DO NOT COMPLAIN.... To many young immature self conceited teens work here. Her sister then entered the property i was staying at and tried to stab me whilst I was asleep, I was lucky to wake up and suffered injury as I caught the knife as it was thrust down towards my neck, she is awaiting sentencing. It was a great way to spend a sunny day in Southampton. The crowd is diverse and super cool, there were families out on the hillside enjoying the sun and the marina view, there were a bunch of younger people enjoying the good weather as well. Our server comes right away, drops two empty glasses (for water) and menus and immediately asks if we are ready. Nope, you just gave me the menu right now, I am not ready. She leaves and never comes back. She forgot about us. She apologized but it never got better. It was half an hour before we got our pints. Our appetizer came 15 min after this and our food came in another 30 min. It took an hour and 15 minutes to get a burger and chicken. Thankfully, the food was good. Oh, and those empty glasses for water, stayed empty until they finally remembered to bring us water, about 1 hour in. And before you ask, yes, I hailed other servers and asked for the water and the status of our meals. They seemed annoyed they had to pick up her slack and maybe kind of took it out on us by doing things for their tables first before ours, which I understand but still kind of sucks. Would I come back? Absolutely not. However, it's so pretty and such a cool building and the beers and food were good so I do recommend checking it out.

I ran a B&B and would often send my guests here to sample their food while overlooking the beautiful countryside that surrounds this gem. The food isn't exquisite but it's reasonably priced for what you get and it's usually well cooked. The staff are friendly and there's plenty of seating both inside and out on the patio overlooking the sea should it be a nice enough day. There's plenty to entertain the kids with an indoor play area in the garden and some swings. If you're in the Isle of Wight I highly recommend you visit Chale. The scenery is stark and beautiful with the rolling hills complimented by the cliffs and sea for as far as the eye can see. Driving along the coast you can regularly see all kinds of birds of prey including hard-to-find Merlins. If birds don't take your fancy, keep your eye out for the kite surfers which can occasionally be seen out to sea. Great fun to watch, particularly if they're show offs and perform all their best tricks, which most of them do. All in all, this is a great day out no matter your age or interests.
