Obviously I can understand staff being stressed but I don't think it's fair for it to be taken out on the customers. Makes for a lovely relaxing meal. Along with this they are now serving fantastic meals, specialising in traditional English cuisine they never fail to produce a great meal. Drinks are all very reasonably priced and service is always top class. This pub really is fantastic and its so lucky that its off the beaten track of the town center otherwise it would surely always be heaving! The main downsides to the pub are lack of entertainment or a food menu, however this pub does what it says on the tin it serves great drinks in a great setting!

We sat in lovely large, comfy sofas, and after buying the original round at the bar, we were waited on at the table. I'm not sure if that's just on quiz nights, but it made a lovely change. Prices were fairly average for this type of family/food pub, and I didn't eat but friends said that it's not bad at all. There's also a play area, but I didn't have the kids with me so didn't check that out - again I was told it's good. Handy as there's a small Tesco next door and a few take-aways so depending on how much you've had to drink, you can pick up a kebab and/or a pint of milk on the way home.

Does have a beer garden that looked like it would be good in the sunshine & even a kids play area at the end of the building. Not somewhere I would rush back to, but the service was good (no one else in the pub though) and food was average for that kind of pub (could have been better). Not great value for money but wasn't a complete rip-off.
