Doug Dushan gave me a tour of the facilities and explained their capabilities and was eager to answer all of my questions. Their showroom is basically a mock up of what I'd imagine Tom Brady's house looks like. TVs everywhere. Speakers stealthily installed behind walls and in the ceiling. It was incredible. And then there's the home theater. Oh my god the theater! It's a 14 seat home theater that is straight out of Best of MTV Cribs (remember that show? With Master P living like a king?) He let me pick a few scenes of movies to get a vibe for what they can do, and needless to say, I was amazed. Their engineering appeared to be top notch. Doug took me back to where they would build and test my media server and the accompanying electronics before they would be installed in my home. I really appreciate this attention to detail. Most home theater outfits do much of the install at my home. Echo Systems does all of the pre-install work at their site so all the troubleshooting can be done there before it gets put in. Doug was very knowledgeable, friendly, and patient with my tsunami of questions. I'm sure I'll be using Echo Systems for my home video needs in the future.

The modem, rather than being mounted on the wall, is merely laying on my kitchen countertop. Following my initial call, they assured me. They would dispatch a stand for the modem. Furthermore, Vivint installed monitor's adjacent to the smoke and carbon dioxide detectors on my ceiling. However, they presistently fall off, and I continually reattach them. They are currently situated next to the modern on my countertop. The most egregious issue is the garage door opener, which has a 50-50 chance of malfunctioning. I am compelled to run downstairs reset the circuit breakers. If we're outside and it fails to open and I inadvertently lock the screen door, I must enlist the service of a locksmith, which has occurred on 4 separate occasions. I fervently pray that this situation never arises as I care for a family member with a handicap. In the event of a fire, her solo means.of egress would be through the garage. If the garage door fails to open I would be forced to either navigate through the burning house, go downstairs to reset the circuit breaker or drag her outside and down the stairs. My dream home, constructed in 2020, has been plagued by the ineptitude of Vivint for nearly 8 months ( no issues with the garage door before Vivint). A lot count on how many times I called the call center? I'm looking at canceling this horrible service. There are no handles on the garage door and with Vivint I'm unable to use the keypad.

Not only was the equipment free, but the terms of the contract were very doable, even though it was a longer time period than most others. I believe that we ended up signing a 48 month contract, and since we have only had one issue with the electronics (which Vivint quickly sent someone out to repair, and it was free?!?!). We are now moving, and since we do not have a home selected on the other side of the country, we are able to transfer the Vivint service to the new home buyers who also were delighted with the technology and the more affordable price. Our alarm has been activated a couple of times, by accident, but they were quick to respond and make sure that we were safe. Our system included 2 full automatic entry door locks, wifi camera, glass break sensors, window and door sensors, wifi connectivity with cellular backup, garage door tilt monitoring, and whole home thermostat. I love it, and honestly, I highly doubt that I will check out any other company once we get a new place picked out in Vegas.
