Universal Electric was called to my home for what appeared to be a breaker issue. By the time their…read moretwo technicians arrived, the issue had already resolved itself. I asked them to investigate further in case the problem returned, but they declined, saying "there's nothing we can do." They never entered the home, never inspected anything, and only briefly stepped out of their van into my driveway to talk to me before leaving. At no point during the scheduling call was I told there would be a service fee. When the techs arrived, they made no mention of a charge, nor did they provide any kind of invoice or paperwork before leaving. I later received three bills by mail, each demanding $130, with no explanation of what the charge was for -- just a warning that failure to pay would result in the account being sent to collections. I did not believe the charge was warranted and disputed it in writing via certified mail with return receipt, which Universal Electric received and signed for. They never responded. No follow-up, no phone call, no documentation -- just silence. Eventually, they turned the matter over to a collection agency. It's frustrating to be billed for a visit where no service was performed, no agreement was made, and no information was shared upfront about potential charges. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Universal Electric.

Rick picked one from that list asked for my phone number and address. After that communication, 3days passed and he no called no showed for our appointment. This lack of communication is all I am able to review. As a client, communication is one of the most important aspects I look for in a contractor because my time is valuable.

Don't expect a callback. They say they will do some work but…read morethen either never show up or never return your phone calls. They also don't stand behind their work. They installed 11 exterior lights in my newly constructed home. Three of them were different, so they all would not dim equally. Though this was a newly constructed house, I offered to at least buy three lights from MAC so I could correct the problem myself. Wes stopped returning my phone calls and text messages. Previously, they had to be contacted multiple times because we kept blowing circuits in our newly constructed house. That problem still exists. Also, the house was mis-wired for a future hot tub. They had to return to correct the problem multiple times. Warranty or not, I will never use them for anything in my house. I am disappointed my builder used this type of business for my new home's electrical.
