They never entered the home, never inspected anything, and only briefly stepped out of their van into my driveway to talk to me before leaving. At no point during the scheduling call was I told there would be a service fee. When the techs arrived, they made no mention of a charge, nor did they provide any kind of invoice or paperwork before leaving. I later received three bills by mail, each demanding $130, with no explanation of what the charge was for -- just a warning that failure to pay would result in the account being sent to collections. I did not believe the charge was warranted and disputed it in writing via certified mail with return receipt, which Universal Electric received and signed for. They never responded. No follow-up, no phone call, no documentation -- just silence. Eventually, they turned the matter over to a collection agency. It's frustrating to be billed for a visit where no service was performed, no agreement was made, and no information was shared upfront about potential charges. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Universal Electric.

Said it was due to a lot of looky-loos, fine. They gave us some estimates quickly, and I contacted them back via email to ask to go ahead with one of the two items. Never got a reply. So I called the office, was told someone would call me back, no one ever did. We ended up going with another electrician who did BOTH our items (installing an electric car charger and installing a new light fixture in a room that previously didn't have one) for just a bit more than AES had bid for JUST the light install. They did fine work came very quickly, getting the work done within a couple of weeks. However, they charged $80 to just come and look at our house. Then, they bid low, when they first came they said $1,000 to $1,200. Then, they came and did the work, taking less than then they originally said, but they charged us $1,640. They never stopped to tell us why they charged us more, they just did. So, don't trust the bid & know that they will take as much as they can. This job shouldn't have cost more that $800 so, we were already over paying. We are feeling kind of cheated

To give an example of the integrity he has, another company suggested 6 lights. Dave actually said I only needed 4, but then suggested I put one light at the top of the stairs to help transition from the entryway to the kitchen. Cameron and Everette did an excellent job and were both very personable. They also hung a chandelier for me. 2nd time: I was having some smaller retaining walls rebuilt and wanted to install landscape lights in these 2 areas. Dave gave me some great suggestions and we were able to run some conduit to connect everything together. I also had Dave quote some other projects. I felt Dave's quotes were fair and reasonable and the integrity he showed with the first project put me at ease that I didn't need to shop around for multiple bids. Plus I don't have the time. I have one more project that I want done and Oak Hills will get my business for that as well! I highly recommend them for any project you're having done

I finally blocked them on the phone and thought that was the end of it. But, no! I got a new phone last week and within less than 24 hours they were calling me again.
