i don't think the guy who came to our house was a handyman. he couldn't fix the problem of our kitchen fixture not working and said maybe all four bulbs blew at once. he couldn't figure out why the dryer wasn't drying. it's an electric or gas and he said maybe they both need to be hooked up. the only service he did was installing the hydraulic on our storm door but he only did the top, not the bottom. very unimpressed, think they're in the wrong business read more

I've worked with Handyman Joe on a few different projects (carpentry and a number of electrical projects). Most recently was adding new electrical service for a hot tub. They have always taken the extra steps to make sure the work is done correctly. Had a deck removed and it left some voids in our siding. Contracted with HMJ to replace siding on a small portion of the wall. HMJ comes back saying they can't find siding to tie into our existing, wants to do a new quote to replace all the siding on the entire side of the house. Upsell? Not what we want so a different contractor found compatible siding and did the job. Two months later HMJ is trying to charge for the "service" of dropping off samples of siding that wouldn't fit. Clarification: our contract was to replace a portion of siding with new siding that was compatible with our existing siding. HMJ dropped off a sample of INCOMPATIBLE siding and in the same email telling us about the drop-off, told us they couldn't do the partial replacement that was in our contract; instead replacing all the siding would be necessary. That's not what we wanted and told them that, in writing. Now they're trying to charge us for dropping off a sample of a product they knew wouldn't work for the contracted repair. read more

Scott Johnson did low quality work at my house in omaha. Color match incorrect. Around trim he used white goop but my trim is black and things don't shut. Before Scott showed up everything shut. We needed some assistance mounting 3 TVs. I had reached out to a variety of possibilities but Handyman Joe was the most responsive and they were fairly priced as well. Our technician was able to come about 2-3 hours early and had our job completed super quick. He was super friendly and helpful and didn't mind when I had changed my mind about the location a few times. We will definitely use Handyman Joe again for any of our future needs. read more

After struggling to find a contractor that would actually answer our calls (we went through 4), we decided to try Handyman Joes. We discovered HJ is a "parent" contractor that brings together other contractors on a project. Well, the subcontractors must really like HJ because we had zero issues. Scheduling was on the mark, contractors showed up and finished on time, all were friendly, clean a respectful of our property, and the entire project was complete when they said it would be. There were even a few issues where they ran into unexpected obstacles. Instead of putting them off, the persevered and got them conquered the same day to stay on schedule. The only minor issue was a slight defect we found in the tiling after the project completed. We made the call and they came out the same day and fixed the issue. We're quite satisfied and have our eye on them now for our kitchen. read more

I've used this service before and had a good experience. But now I'm told it's under new ownership. Still, I asked for a bid to stain my small-medium sized deck. The bid came in at $2,175! That was over three times the amount of the other bids I received! In the past I've paid between $500 and $700 to have a pro power-wash and stain said deck. I Googled "Average price to stain a 350 ft deck" & got "$400-$950." It's pretty clear the bid from Handyman Joe is outrageously high. I hate to think about this company price-gouging senior citizens on fixed incomes who don't know any better. Buyer beware. read more

I would give them a zero if I could. I booked a service at the beginning of June. The day of the appointment, I received a call from Taylor that said the technician had been injured. She rescheduled me for the end of June. The day of the second appointment, she called and said the technician went home ill. Taylor rescheduled for the following day. Called again the a few hours of that appointment and said the technician was still ill. They are liars and should be ashamed! Don't trust them if you need work done. read more

Today I had Ken come out from Handyman Joes and he did an excellent job replacing a bathroom faucet. It turned out to be a "can of worms" and he was very talented in fixing all the issues that arose.
