Most uncomfortable, disappointing dinning experience I have ever had. Went to grab some burgers and drinks before a show at the Tractor one night. Our friend got us a picnic table in the far back because she arrived just minutes before us. We watched a server help our surrounding tables and then move on, not even acknowledging us or asking a drink order. We had a group of 7, all ready to drink and eat, money in the bank for a server. Everyone of us has been in the service industry for years and many of us are servers ourselves. After sitting for 15 minutes without any sign of a server, we had to get up and go find someone and let them know we were ready to order. We found a bar tender who said he didn't know where our server was but he would do us a favor and take our order. I don't feel if I go to a restaurant I should feel like the person taking my order is really doing me a favor, but hey, we went with it. We got a round of drinks that would have been much faster ordered from the bar with two laid back bartenders, not particularly busy. Our bad, I guess. Our drinks arrived, not exactly what we had ordered and placed in front of all the wrong people. Not a big deal at all, but noticeably awkward. Drinks finished, no food yet. No sign of our server, so I went and ordered cocktails at the bar (lesson learned from last time, worked out much better.) This is where it got awful. Second drinks empty, still no sign of food, it's been 45 minutes since we ordered, and an hour since arriving. One small hipster server comes by to see if we are "still doing good" with a cute thumbs up. Bless his soul for having the balls to ask if we were good, so we were nice and and said just waiting for food. But we were not "still good." At this point I couldn't drink anymore without food. Finally, half of our table receives their food. All of us had ordered medium cooked burgers, but one, who ordered rare. They were all raw, straight up bloody, except the one ordered rare, which was more cooked then all the others. Not sure what happened there. minutes later two servers walk by with 6 burgers, looking lost, asked around looking for who the burgers belonged to. With no luck, they wandered back up front. 20 minutes after all my friends received their (incorrectly cooked) food, my boyfriend and were still food-less. We were over it by then and just wanted to leave. The manager came out because we wanted to discuss with him, why we were upset. He came out in a huff and a puff, making excuses about his grill size and saying "I shouldn't even have come out here to explain myself." So unprofessional it was appalling. He then threw down our cards on the table and said "whatever, I am giving all your cards back, you don't have to pay for anything." So not what we were looking for. Awesome, yes, but rude. I left feeling like I had just been badly served and yelled at for it, for free. I would have much rather paid for good service and good food.
ps. My burger arrived as I was standing to leave and my boyfriend never received his. If they have a small grill, they need less tables instead of rushing through and half cooking burgers (or not cooking burgers.) I have never written a review before I just wanted to share my experience...because it was SO embarrassing and awful. read more
