Great burgers! Tasty fries! Good beer! And we're set. Wait staff is friendly and prompt. And the decor? Everything you would want in a bar. Lots of animal heads, skee ball, and a tv playing the World Series. Worth going just to read all the graffiti in the bathrooms. Definitely worth a visit!

The tots were really good and on HH special when I went. I also had a pint of the Hefeweizen they had, which I felt meh about as it didn't taste like Hefeweizens usually do, but that's on the beer probably. I mostly sat and read my book at the bar where the lighting was best but the music was also solid with metal and punk rock mostly. The servers were attentive where I sat at the bar and I got speedy service when I needed anything. They have skeeball for 50 cents a play which was awesome! I was a fan and I'd totally come back for another chill beer and snack.

King's is a dive bar of the highest order. Case in point: they have skee-ball, Big Buck Hunter, a very large but dimly lit dining room, Montucky cold snacks, and Twisted Tea in BOTTLES. 'Nuff said. But actually it's not enough, because I need to let you in on a little secret: King's has hands down the best buffalo wings in Seattle. At least I have yet to find better ones, or even any that really come close. They are modest in size, not from some 'roided out mutant bird, perfectly crispy yet tender, and tossed in a superb classic buffalo sauce. If you are a fan of wings, do NOT sleep on these. In fact, all of their bar food is excellent. Their chicken tenders are also some of the best in town, their tavern burgers are basic but wonderful and priced reasonably, and they have curly fries which, in case you didn't know, are an optimal form of potato. I love you King's, please keep on doin' it right.

The bouncer was an asshole and made all of us cry for no reason. Completely rude and disrespectful after trying to deescalate.

I come here weekly for a chess club (yeah, I'm a nerd). Each visit is about the same each time which is pretty good. With some variance good and eh along with it. Kings, which I suppose used to be a hardware store in the olden days but now has become a hotspot on the Ballard strip amongst a host of other places. A basic looking bar with divey dimness but kind of outdoorsy style with wood decor and taxidermy. Most of my visits have been just for drinks while playing, but I had the spicy chicken sandwich. Not bad. The cut, slaw and spice were all there. The fries were really good. Just the right amount of crisp and saltiness. This along with burgers and chicken fingers are pretty much the make up in the way of food here. The beer options are alright, kind of the basics for the area which is ok, help it stay different from the breweries around The barstaff/waitstaff seem to be about the same every visit and they're pretty cool. The bouncer dude seems to take his job a little too seriously at times, but the benefit of the doubt comes in since this seems like Kings biggest demographic is 20 somethings so he's extra all over that. Overall King's is pretty decent in my visits.

I like the patio area a lot, burgers and tots are yummy as far as bar food goes (we got the pb burger and wings). And of course lots of drinks to choose from. You don't have to compete to get the staff's attention while still having a fun atmosphere. Perfect sweet spot!

I remember coming to King's Hardware years ago. I love the unique name and the inside connecting doorway to Rudy's Barbershop next door as well as the larger sized outdoor covered seating in back. And of course, who doesn't love skeeball? There's two skeeball machines for use in the back of the bar. Fun game. We had a waitress named "Knives" serving us and she was very nice and knowledgeable. Plus her name was sooo cool. Hard to forget! We had the Bull Rings (Onion Rings) and a couple of drinks. Very good pub style onion rings and a fun atmosphere here. Our bill even came with a free souvenir postcard (pictured in review). Overall, this is a fun place to try in old Ballard and it fits right in among all the other bars nearby. Go see Knives and get some hardware at King's!

One of my favorite hang outs. Always great staff, always good food and drink. Even with COVID this past year they have all the appropriate protocols in place and even some additional "patio" seating out front. Greatest thing about this place...you can bring your pup! Their covered patio in the back is covered, heated, and always has the games on. You can't lose! Sundays = $6 Bloody Marys Their wings = delicious and only $8.95 Their chicken strips & burger...also delicious. I mean, who doesn't love fresh ingredients and waffle fries!? While their menu is a bit more limited than normal due to covid, you really can't go wrong with any of it. It's all good! Full bar, plenty of cocktails, and beers available. Can't wait for some normalcy so I can play ski ball there again!

Went for a dinner date last night and have liked this place. Read about their Fried chicken burger winning the award two years in a row, so I had to try it! Its a decent place to hang out with friends as well and it is dog friendly too! They have dine in and back yard with heating available during the cold months. Ordered the chicken wings, Buffalo chicken burger, Rico Suave burger both came with onion rings and waffle fries- what fun! I like how the food was served hot, needed it as it was so cold with snow and rain.. Drinks were great, we got the Winter break and Fremont Kraken. Over all a good place for a casual dine in and chilling.

Visited on a trip to Seattle during COVID. We were seated outside and were allowed to pick our own table/booth. The waiter was extremely kind and friendly but I don't remember her name. We ordered buffalo wings and an order of waffle fries (which are bomb!) They were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I'm not a big drinker, but when I do drink I like things that don't taste super strong and these arnold palmers are exactly that. They are the perfect mixture of alcohol and arnold palmer in a slush. They were so delicious, our table ordered six of them. We asked for extra sauce on the side because we were given blue cheese (we don't like blue cheese) and didn't know we were charged for them until we saw the bill. Overall, the workers here are kind and they have great bar food. The arnold palmer slush is a MUST try when coming here!

Kings Hardware is a perfect bar for drinks and classic bar food. I was pretty blown away by their hot wings! Their hot sauce was great, crispy and hot, and there was a fair amount of wings. Kings also has skeeball in the back! They have a large back patio with plenty of seats, but it can get crowded on weekends but not as busy as Kangaroo and Kiwi.

A true staple in Ballard for its pub eats and divey vibes. I think I prefer to get a bite to eat with a cocktail during early evenings vs. the night scene. I might have grown too old to truly enjoy the busy atmosphere here! It's true their Tuesday burger special still exists at $4.99 and they're to seriously die for - very similar to the Linda's tavern happy meal burger they used to have. Along with the kings burger, I ordered a side of half tots and they did not disappoint!!! I'm obsessed. Don't skip on their frozen cocktails - they're addictive and perfect way to spend the glorious summer weather outside on their patio(s).

$.39 Wing Mondays! This special is a good enough reason alone to check out King's Hardware. Every Monday they offer a traditional hot wing, as well as a rotating special that they post on their Instagram day of for only $.39 each. I don't think I've seen a wing deal any cheaper than this in the Seattle area. I've only ever been on Mondays and they are sometimes busy sometimes not, but I've never had a problem finding a table right away and their service is quick! The staff is incredibly nice and are always on top of things. I have really never had a negative experience with the service there. Wing Mondays have become a somewhat regular occurrence for my best friend and me (our attendance is usually based on whether the rotating special sounds good to us or not). We order around 30 wings to share and along with that we've tried various items like their wedge salad, fries, tots, etc. and everything has been solid. I look forward to spending many more Mondays here!

They are kid and dog-friendly, too. We ordered an NA IPA (which they have on tap!) and their hop water (comes in a can). Both beverages were absolutely delicious. I love that this place is NA-friendly. They offer some light snacks and free pretzels, which is awesome for a brewery without a kitchen. There is a food truck on site, but it was closed when we visited. No worries, though, you can bring outside food, which is perfect since there are plenty of great restaurants in the area. I asked the bartender if they brew at this location, and he said they've moved all brewing to a different location in Seattle, but it's still super fresh and tasty beer all around. This is a spot worth visiting in Seattle or getting together with a large group for a few drinks. Plenty of choices for everyone!

This is a new favorite of mines. Been here 3 times so far and can't wait to get back every time…read more What I like the most about this place is the vibe of it all. It's not divey, but not hipster either which I really appreciate. They also play good classic rock in here, but switch the music to something up-tempo when it becomes evening. I feel that anyone can feel comfortable here. Ok so the food and drink. I was told that this is a whiskey bar, but I'm a tequila girl so I wasn't able to explore their whiskey library. I didn't want any of the happy hour drink options, so I just asked for a margarita and it was damn good. I had too many to admit on here. The main food attraction at Triangle Spirits is their fried chicken, which has been dubbed by some as the best in the city. You can get the chicken as a slider or sandwich, boneless skinless thighs on the happy hour menu (great deal of 10 bucks for 3 pieces and fries), or as a meal (dark or white meat with a side, or half a chicken with 2 sides). I tried the happy hour chicken basket and the dark meat meal. After trying both, I feel that the chicken on the happy hour is better than the meal. The happy hour chicken is boneless, very tender and more flavorful than their chicken on the bone. The secret mix of seasonings is more pronounced on the boneless chicken than it is with the bone in. The bone in chicken was just ok to us and didn't blow us away and it was also ridiculously expensive. I would not pay 35.00 again for what I tasted. The bone in chicken was fried well, but didn't have as much flavor as we were expecting. Also, the mac and cheese was the most disappointing. I suggest skipping that as it's obvious that the cheese is some kind or processed concoction from a box. This is still an awesome bar in Fremont. Stop in for a good time and atmosphere.

I've only been here two times and they were both for Happy Hour…read more The Happy Hour prices for drinks are pretty darn good. My go-to HH cocktail here is the Vieux Carré, but I like herbal sweet & bitter, so it's right up my alley. Currently there are five HH cocktail options and they are $7... hard to find in Seattle! I've also had the rainier & rye for $9- the rye is great, forgot to ask what kind it is. I've had a few other HH drinks, which were alright, but these stand out the most. As for food, I've only tried the spicy Seattle dog, and I would get it again. The hot dog is cut up & shaped weird (see photo), but it tastes wonderful. I heard the fried chicken is great so I'll try that next time. Also, I was excited to see that they had buckeyes on the menu, but they didn't have any when we visited. Inside is spacious and woodsy, & outside there is an enjoyable patio. Servers are nice and seem happy to be there, which always elevates my experience anywhere. I definitely recommend coming to Triangle Spirits for Happy Hour (available daily 3-5pm, dine-in only).

You know it's good when you pull up the establishment and they have not only a long line, but also a paper dictating what is sold out, which they update on a 10-15 minute interval. Waiting in line is the most time consuming part of this experience, as we probably waited 20-30 minutes to get to the front to place our order - which is good sign! You can definitely formulate what meats and sides you want as you get closer to the front. Parking for the restaurant is a bit difficult, I think the only options we found while visiting was streetside, and we were fortunate to find a spot only a block away. I could totally see it being impossible to find parking when it gets really busy in the area. Once you get your food, there is plenty of seating, from high tops, to booths, to tables, to outdoor seating with a fire pit. We got a good variety of items, which I'll review a couple down below: Brisket: A good brisket with a nice visible smoke ring. Similar to the pork belly, you can tell the skill of a barbecue restaurant from how their brisket is, and this brisket is delicious! Really meaty and pleasant smoke flavor. I think we did get a leaner cut of brisket as there wasn't as much fat to help with the leanness. Beef Cheek: A delicious cut of meat that melts in the mouth, and has a pleasant smokey flavor. Out of the three cuts of meat, this one was unfortunately salted the heaviest. The first couple of bites are delicious and really delicious, but it goes really overwhelming the more you eat it. If you order this, definitely get some sides to help. Pomegrante Pork Belly: A solid BBQ pork belly that has a pleasing fatty crust with a meaty interior. This is what I would consider a good baseline for a reputable barbecue restaurant. It is advertised as pomegrante pork belly, but I unfortunately wasn't able to taste any flavor of pomengrate - maybe a tiny bit in the glaze/bark but that could just be attributed to the sugar. Mac and Cheese: A pretty comforting side! bechamel sauce is really creamy and fully coats each noodle. The noodles were at the sweet spot of soft and having enough integrity to hold their shape. Cherry and Rhubarb Cobbler: Wow, this is an amazing dessert! I haven't had a cobbler where they added cardamom to the crust before, and I think it works spectacularly. The cardamom gives a nice floral taste to the crust, which is complemented by the tart and fruity filling. I think this is one of the better if not best desserts I've had a barbecue shop, and the small tweaks made were creative and delicious! In the end, I think we paid about $100 for everything you see here. Having been to a couple of BBQ places, I would say that it is pretty standard pricing. Good BBQ does take a lot of effort and it does come at a premium. Outsider BBQ is absolutely delicious - if you are looking to get some comforting food, they definitely have you covered. I would totally revisit to try their items that got sold out (missed the beef cheeks, need to try those!) the time we visited!
