Called around to several other repair places and the average price was around $200. Don't trust KingsGrant! I had a car towed there last month on a Thursday night and Friday morning was told the car was a write off and not worth fixing and charged $97 to be put on a machine to tell me what the problem was. Also they unknowingly charged me $20 for coolant. I told them I didn't tell them to put that in there and that I had two coolants in my trunk they said that I could give them one of mine instead of paying the $20. I was just so worried about getting the car fixed I gave them my coolant without a second thought at the time. His name was Barry I expressed to him I was a single mom and desperate for help or good advise it was my only transportation. He didn't care. I was worried about getting my kids to school and me to work .. appts, that were coming up. All kinds of thoughts of what I needed my car for, it was devastating. He told me that it would be better to sell my maxima that had been working well up until this point. When I brought it there to their shop it was driving like 5 miles per hour. He said it was a major engine problem. I had it towed from there at 12 midnight on a Sunday (he said it couldn't be there on Monday when they opened or it would be towed) I had a 6 year old with me and my son in the wee hours of the morning doing this. The tow man gave me a Machanic that could come look at it. The only problem was a broke alternator belt. He replaced it and the car works great. I was in tears because money is so tight for me and my oldest daughter who lives in CA. said I should have asked for my money back or took them to court for the time, tow cost and incorrect information giving and not giving me the codes. I told her I will just put it in God's hands and rely on Karma and hope this helps someone else. read more

We've gone here for nearly a decade and spent thousands at this shop. Sometime in the past year they changed their policy on their coupon card program restricting use to one vehicle. If you own two vehicles, not only can you not use it on your other vehicle, but it also can't be used on a new vehicle if you sell the vehicle that they've written the name of on the back. So you've paid for services that they refuse to perform. Their door-to-door salesman did not inform us of this change when selling us three of these cards recently. When I informed them of this and asked for the salesman's name they claimed not to know who that person was. We'll take our business to another company that doesn't play these types of games. What a great service station in the auto repair place and gas station I first took my car there for an oil change and tire rotation and then about a month later I went back for a state inspection and to have them look at and repair my air-conditioner Lee seems to be a fantastic guy and repair man he kept me informed of the progress of my car and was able to fix my AC for a reasonable rate and OMG even on the hottest days I have to roll down my windows cuz it gets so cold in my car now not that I'm really complaining they even offer to fill up your car when they are done working on your car I will be using them for all my Automotive needs in the future read more

This place took advantage of my gf when she brought her vehicle up for an inspection. They told her her motor mount was broken and failed her. After we took it to our normal shop they informed us that THERE WAS NO BROKEN MOTOR MOUNT. THEY COMPLETELY LIED TO US. Also last month into my bmw for an oil change and headlight out. I told them that after all my research I concluded I had to take it to the dealership to fix and program. They said no no we can fix that. I said ok dropped it off 2 hours late they call me back saying they actually Couldn't fix my headlight. They charged me 90$ for to tell me.exactly what I had told them. Having heard how long he had used this facility, and me just moving here and not knowing anyone, I gave it a shot. I dropped my car off Thursday and it was finished in Monday. The staff kept me updated on progress. Prices were fair. The proprietor was extremely helpful in my time of need. My car came back to me clean and safe. Ive Always used this shop every year for inspection..Well this year it happened to be time for an Oil change as well..So get it done and couple days later notice oil drips in driveway..Well it rains heavily for a few days and i forget about the drips..Then a couple days mor no rain and i notice the oil stains in the driveway again..So i take the truck back and Lee is nice about it and gets the truck in..Well the mechanic not sure his name,Black gentleman with braids looks over the truck sprays some of the oil off gets in my truck backs it out gives me the thumbs up and walks away.Im like thats it,You didnt do anything..So lee gets a different guy to look older white dude.That guts says he found the leak and either the seal was crushed or missing from the oil filter housing..They fix that and Im nice about it cuz mistakes happen..Well 2 days later Now instead of black oil drips theres fresh clean oil drips in driveway..So i took car back today 8/14/20 Now they added dye to it and are saying its my valve cover..Same Black gentleman looked at it today tho so i dont trust anything he says or has done..He doesnt seem to wanna do his job,He made a simple oil change into a giant problem and Ill admit i was so mad i couldnt even find the words to say so i just Left..Im supposed to bring the car back in a couple days to check the dye i guess but i wouldnt put it past this so called mechanic to sabatoge something as to make this not his fault... read more

Just dropped my car off. College student w/ a 02 Stratus. I had them replace a part a couple months ago and I didn't have the best experience but to be fair, I snapped a ball joint and apparently it took them like TWO DAYS to hammer out a bolt. But the guy was kind of a jerk about it and he didn't even call me before they closed on Saturday to let me know they'd have to keep it till Monday, and they charged me like an extra $250. I was kind of pissed. So, now I need to replace a couple more control arms up front and A/C pipes are cold but won't blow cold. I called yesterday, spoke to Lee, who I hadn't spoken to before. I told him the issue. He sounded really friendly, gave me a quick quote on parts and labor. Price was only slightly better than Hall Dodge's quote. Anyway, I need to get it done so I decided to drop in today. Lee was SUPER friendly, remembered our phone call and shook my hand. I didn't recognize him from my other visits. A lady was checking out. He made a comment of saving her $ with some coupons. I dropped off my car. I hope they can save me some money because I'll probably have to dip into my student loan for this. TIRE FELL OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF LITTLE NECK RD!!!!! Worst Place. Would not refund repair price ($1,545.98) After my family and I spent over $4000 in 1 month on our vehicles. We had just moved from Ocean Park area of VB and we were excited to have a repair place close. $2,300: We had a break job done on our 2016 Suburban, they still squeak till this day (after I have already been there to get them corrected) after a full year still squeak. On this same visit they simply forgot my oil change that I paid for, I had to get a refund for the oil change. The only way I knew this happened was my oil light came on two days later.$ $1,545: We had new struts and brake job on 1987 Jimmy. TIRE FELL OFF ON LITTLE NECK RD. Thank God no one was hurt! However, we were just driving 50 MPH on VB Blvd, right before. Barry DID reimbursed us for the tow, and funds to get this repaired by someone else ($550). However, may be the right thing for him to refund the money for the repair, which was not done correctly. I requested this from the owner several times over a 6 month period. We emailed pictures and all receipts. Barry would not refund the $1,545.00! This is very unfortunate and is completely crazy for a customer to go through!! But, it is also very unfortunate, KGA will miss out on all the money we would have spent there over the years. Also all my friends on Shore Drive, will no longer get their auto repairs completed at Cape Henry Exxon (ALSO OWNED BY BARRY). read more

They are con artists, I've tried them a few times because they are in my neighborhood and each time they tried to rip me off. I took my car there for an inspection and they failed it for ball joints, I got a second opinion and they said my ball joints were good. I have had several oil changes using their customer loyalty card on my two vehicles. Saved money and no problems with either vehicle. When I needed the timing belt changed on my 2003 Mitsubishi Montero, their price was nearly $500 dollars less than two other well known shops I got quotes from and they offered more services for the price. No problems with the vehicle several months later and nice to know that there's a new belt. Recommend highly. read more

I took one of my vehicles to Kings Grant Exxon to have it inspected a couple of weeks ago. The inspector failed it for front and rear brakes and a bad ball joint. They gave me an estimate for these repairs for over $1000. I disagreed with his findings and called the State Police. A trooper met me at the station and had the inspector review his findings on the car. The trooper didn't see anything wrong with the vehicle and had the inspector pass it and sent me on my way. The inspector left a clipboard in my car that had incentive sheets that indicated they get bonuses for finding things wrong with cars that become repairs. Please spread the word. read more

My neighbor dropped off her recently acquired S10 pickup for a state inspection. The vehicle was rejected sighting numerous discrepancies with the brake system, various steering components and the exhaust system. The total cost to repair was estimated at nearly $2000.00. I suggested that she allow me to inspect it and make all necessary repairs. I replaced the rear brake shoes, wiper blades and secured the battery at a total cost of less than $40.00. She then took the vehicle to a different inspection station where it passed with zero discrepancies noted. Be careful when dealing with these people. read more

My review from Feb 2016 - State Inspection, tire rotation and balance, and coolant flush and replace. Been taking my vehicles here for standard service since 2004 (when I moved close by). I've never had any issue with these folks. Work was completed to my satisfaction. Looks like you can schedule service online now. Great! One comment for the owners.....now that you have the computer system apparently upgraded, maybe we could skip having to fill out all the information on those paper slips for returning customers. read more

When they changed my oil, the filter was missing two gaskets and I got the low oil pressure alarm. I was 3 qts low. I had an emergency repair on the Eastern Shore. My engine could have seized and we could have had a terrible wreck. They reimbursed me for the repair and apologized. However, why didn't they check for the gasket or start it up and check for leaks after they were done? Never again. read more

My family, friends and myself have never had a good experience with this gas station. On June 25, 2015 I t took my car to the Kings Grant Exxon (f/k/a Citgo) for an inspection. I had $5.00 off coupon and the gas station was close to my home. I knew that they could not find anything wrong because I have taken excellent care of my car and just purchased new tires. They called me when they were finished. I arrived 40 minutes later and noticed my car was backed into a parking spot. I stepped inside my car to leave and the engine was running, gear in reverse and air condition blasting with the radio on. There could have been a very fatal accident with myself or others. I am so lucky that nothing happened when I was getting into the car. I went back inside and told the employee working the front desk. She sent a mechanic out to my car but he did not have an explanation. Did they reimburse me for the gas they wasted while it was running during that time - of course not. My family and friends have use this gas station because of the location (convenience). Not one has had a good experience. They always try to find something wrong and taking it to other places confirmed there wasn't an issue. They are very over-priced too. I will never take my car there again! read more
