I am very pleased with my experience. I live in the states, my dad lives near the shop. I wanted him to start going somewhere closer as he is starting to get older and driving is becoming challenging. I made this appt and spoke with someone about details. She said that there was a $20 trim price that might apply to him if he just has a small amount of hair. A manager would call me back. The day passed and my dad went for a cut. He was charged full price $55 + tax/tip. Sticker shock moment! He was ready to drive back to his old barber across town. I spoke with Eman, while my dad waited. She handled it with such grace: She honored the trim price for my Dad, making him feel great about his experience and assuring him that I had his back even though I was far away. She also agreed to help me by billing him $20 and billing me the rest so that he remains happily oblivious to the real cost. (Which I think is totally worth it for this cool little shop) read more

It's the experience that keeps bringing me back. I always feel the warm welcome and walk out feeling and looking great. The moment you walk in, they offer to hang up your coat or sweater and then offer you something to drink whether it be coffee or or water. The moment you sit down, you already feel that you're in good hands. Even though I personally get something as simple as a buzz cut, I don't trust anybody else with my hair than my barber at King's crown. I've tried plenty of their services like a shave, threading, hand touchups, and the obvious haircut. Never once have I been disappointed with the work they have done. I have been seeing the team and Kings Crown for a couple of years now - I go to the location at Bayview Village mall where the owner also works out of (Bernie) When it comes to barber shops - these guys set the foundational bar of excellence and execution. From online booking, sms notifications, greeting you by name when you arrive, offering hot or cold bevy (wish they served up alcoholic drinks... one can dream ) the barbers and front end staff are very accommodating and professional. First, this review is based off of one visit to King's Crown, and may not be representative of their overall work. I came in today to get my beard trimmed, and the service was great. I was offered coffee and water, and the appointment time was honoured. Unfortunately, the trim itself was poor. The barber left my moustache noticeably uneven. I would expect more attention to detail from a barber at this price point. Two stars for the stellar service staff. However, the trim itself was disappointing. King's Crown is close to my house and I was hoping for a better experience, but unfortunately this may be my first and last time. read more

Saw this place advertised and thought this would be a great place to try out. Today, December 14, 2019, first time customer at the Bayview Village location. I was expecting top notch service with impeccable facilities. I was left disappointed with the hair cutting service and the location. The stylist appeared to be in a hurry. Very little cutting with scissors, mostly clippers. Was expecting a straight razor trim, as advertised. He used an electric razor, one that you would use to shave your face. His work station was messy and disorganized. The wash sink at his station appears to not have been cleaned in a long time. I was in and out within 20 minutes. The only good part of the experience was the attempt made by the women at the cash. She did make attempts to fix things. I was not interested. She did discount my price. I will not return to this location. The previous place I was using (Duzz Barbershop 5169 Yonge St) will have me back as a customer. read more

I told the girl at the counter that I'd like to check in with Yelp and get a noble cut with the discount here. Showed up and got a regular haircut and somehow all the rest of the details were missed. I winded up paying full price for a regular haircut and checking in Yelp for no reason at all. Everything was rushed so I didn't even bother saying anything afterwards and just left. I guess the haircut itself looked good but hey for $45 I expected much better. read more

A men's grooming salon in Bayview Village and a boyfriend with a beard in need of grooming, a match made in heaven, right? WRONG. My boyfriend's beard was losing it's shape as it grew long, so he thought he's go to the professionals for a trim. Maybe he did go to the pros, but he came out looking more like a pimp or a lounge shark than the man I knew and loved. For some reason, when he asked for a simple beard trim, the stylist took some....liberties. Instead of making the beard simply shorter and better defined she decided to trim it like she was in a hedge-sculpting championship. She carved out an upside-down triangle under his bottom lip, and fashioned his once-glorious moustache into the face equivalent of a bowl cut. The first thing he did when he got home was shave the whole disaster off. Now we are minus one beard and out $20. And I've got two weeks of short, stabby bristles coming my way. read more

Shawn is great! Truly exemplifies what a barber should offer. Listens to my ideas, tells me where the flaws are in what I described and offers a solution that makes sense and takes direction very well. Almost like a consultative process. His cuts look great, make sure you respect the balance between having an idea of what you want and extending enough of a leash to let the barber/stylist use their own touch to make the cut come out well. I booked a last minute appointment with Simon yesterday and everything from the staff to the store was really impressive. A nice sleek and modern looking shop with lots of great old school man cave touches like Swords and rustic textures on the wall. The service was really great with Simon taking time to ask and check as he was going through the cut. He washed my hair before and after the cut as well so I was able to go about my day without running home for a shower. I was getting my hair cut for my wedding next week and me and my fiancé were both pleased with the look. The front desk staff were really friendly and gave me a sample of some of their products. Really nice feels with tea tree oil and made for a great shave. The products were really cool to look over, not many shops carry such a beautiful assortment of straight razors and shaving kits. Beautiful pieces with antler handle pieces and lots of other cool features. This place is definitely worth a visit you get what you pay for and the crown is worth every penny. Also they serve beer, whiskey and coffee if you like a pint and a shave. I had a great cup of coffee but may try a pint on my next visit! read more
