Kings is located in the Bedlington Station area and as such is popular with the students from the local highschool as well as serving a lot of workers and residents at lunchtime. The shop is on the main roadside and is easy to get to on foot. Parking may be a problem though. There is limited roadside space available nearby or a few parking places around the corner.
The shop is small with a glass window front. There is a small front entrance which wheelchair users may find difficult to open. The interior of the store is quite small but there is usually space to move around.
The counter stretches length ways opposite the door. It has a dulled metallic look to it, as if it is an old furnishing. It is clean but not new-looking.
The staff are usually quite young and as such are pretty straighforward with dulled manners. They are pleasant enough and efficient but get on with the job at hand.
I have always found the quality of the food here to be top notch and especially enjoy the thick, fluffy chip dishes. Chip butties are also well done with soft bread and plenty of spread. read more
