I have been going in this pub for a couple of years now since the new landlord took over back in 2006. Its been transformed and is now a really nice warm and welcoming 'local'.
They serve a really good selection of draught lager and always have one or two Ales on the hand pulled pumps.
They have also recently started serving food, this is absolutely fantastic, its excellently priced and more importantly always freshly prepared and full of flavour. The chef is a real find, he makes traditional dishes like Sheperds pie which are really tasty and more exotic dishses like Chicken breast stuff with garlic, spinich and Feta which i had last time, it was marvelous.
And for a sport lover like myself, this pub cannot be bettered, there cant be a pub that shows more games, they can show up to three games at any one time and always have a choice of 3pm games on a saturday as well as live games from spain, Germany, Holland,France, Bulgaria and Russia. Added to this they show plently of Rugby and a whole host of other sports.
You can walk into this pub at 12pm on a saturday and leave twelve hours, happy in the knowledge you have spent the day in a great place, serving fantastic food watching big screen sport. read more
