I had my front stripes on and only needed my rear stripes installed, these guys told me to come in and when I did they tried to charge me for three hours? What the? The stickers in total were not more that 3 feet long. Even if I got on my hands and knees and licked it on centimeter by centimeter it wouldn't take three whole hours. If you want to get RIPPED OFF, come here. Otherwise, I ended up going to ClearGuard in SF at the European Motors on Harrison and they put on my stripes in one hour. Quality of workmanship and materials (3M) was five stars, but very unprofessional...I got stood up, and personally expect a business to take their appointments seriously (or at least cancel well in advance). I got all my windows tinted and had to go back several months later to have the fronts removed (learn from my experience: save yourself the trouble, Bay Area cops are looking to make an easy buck now more than ever!)... there was a line of folks outside the shop all grumbling about appointments, but the owner never showed up! I had even brought back a tool they left in the car during the initial work, but ended up having to drop it in their mail slot because they were closed...not even the office was open, we had to wait in the street. read more

I'm reviewing the detail portion of King Tint. For the price that is paid on a detailed job there should be more attention to your work. After a day or two later i noticed wax that was never removed from the car on the roof and around side mirrors. Also the bumper and roof rails that have black plastic have white streaks that are hard to remove now since its embedded into the plastic. Knowing that plastic does not go well with wax, no effort was made to separate the two during the waxing of the car. I could have gotten a better detail job at a car wash for 1\3 the price....My advice would be to stick at what you do best is tint windows...stay far away from the detail service Pay with Credit card.... gives you a price and then adds $5 when he swipes your card and does not say anything..very unprofessional read more

They do great work here. I got my 2011 WRX tinted almost immediately after I bought it since I hate the heat my black leather interior soaks up in the summer. It took about 3 hours, and the price was competitive with other shops, and I just watched a movie while it was getting done. It came out great, and has been on the car for ~10 months. I also went back here to get some vinyl overlays put on my taillights, and they turned out great, too! This was after having a negative experience with another shop that wasted 3 hours of my time before failing to put the overlays on and saying it was because it was some vinyl I got off the internet that couldn't be worked with. I got lazy and thought it would be an easy job, so went with the shop closest to my house instead of King Tint, which I know does quality work. Deng, Douglas does EVERYTHING. While he was tinting my friend's windows, we were talking to him about how long he has done tinting and etc. Douglas does everything from body kits to tinting to even car graphics, believe it or not (just ask him about it). He was even teaching us some tricks to doing the tint. Douglas is very down to Earth. He's a really friendly and great guy. All of his work is very professional. He is very helpful and all of the prices of tint are cheap. In fact, his work is probably the cheapest you'll find in the bay area and also the best. All of his tints come out flawless. It is also easy to find an appointment with him for tinting. My friend and I went in to Mach III to ask for an appointment for tinting, but they told us that they didn't have any time for 2 weeks. Ridiculous. Then I recommended him King Tint because all of the great reviews on Yelp. We drove to San Bruno not knowing where it was located. We called him up and he happily gave us directions to the shop. Then when we got there, he had time to do my friend's car on the spot. When he was done, my friend and I were amazed. Why? Because the work was so well done and the price came out to be only $170 for 5 windows (this was on a 2dr accord). Douglas will take care of you and also work till the sun comes up! I tinted my car not too long ago and my availability was only after 5pm because of work. He told me no problem and I brought my car in at 5:30, dropped it off, came back at 10:30. I didn't complain at all and wanted him to take his time. He worked on it by himself and I also tipped him I mean come on 5 hours of labor and he gave me a excellent price too because this was the second time getting tint done from him. No other tint shop will do that for you. Most tint shops close at the time he started to tint my car and Douglas goes by your availability. Go with the 3M tint. Based on the numerous positive reviews, I decided to take my car in to King Tint about a year ago. The first time I drove by, Douglas wasn't actually there which left me a bit disappointed and uneasy. The second time, I called and made an appointment to bring my car in. It's a small garage that I noticed was kept pretty clean and organized, which was important for me to see considering I was about to dish out 200+ bucks for his service. Douglas was very friendly and didn't make me feel rushed at all when I was selecting the tint levels. He showed me his own car which had 20% tints on it so I can better gauge the darkness level. Tinting all 5 windows took little less than 3 hours, and when I came back, the car looked beautiful. There wasn't a single spot on my front+rear windows that wasn't covered. No air bubbles or imperfections. The water spots between tint and window will dry out after a few days and disappear. It looks like an air bubble at first, but it's actually not. So don't worry about it. It's been almost a year now, and my tints are still looking great. My friend complimented them the other day, saying whoever tinted my car did a great job. For those enthusiasts out there, Douglas also carries 3M tints, which are higher-quality and a bit more expensive. I didn't get those, but it's nice to know you have an option. Also, be forewarned if you decide to tint your front windows because it is *illegal* in California. I already got ticketed once while my car was parked in a park n' ride lot (ridiculous) and pulled over once on the entrance ramp to 101. read more

So I just got a spankin' new NISMO and was on the lookout for a trustworthy quality tint shop. I Google'd the net and read many Yelp reviews before I chose King Tint. What helped sell me was that in the photos... there were no teenagers in doing the tint-work, there weren't 50 cars crammed into a tiny garage, and there were some quality cars (not just beaters) getting tint work. King Tint is a small shop... a "hidden-treasure". Douglas only takes on enough business that he can personally handle as he's definitely focused on the quality of the work. I am extremely pleased with the tint job and will soon be coming back for a clear bra. Here, I was able to see samples of Douglas' work and the different vehicles he has done service to. His clients ranged from your Honda owner to luxury cars like Mercedes and exotic cars like Ferrari. This gave me a good sense of his clientele and the trust they gave Douglas to work on their cars. Futhermore, I shopped around and found prices ranging from $200 to $400 for 5 to 7 windows. His price seemed competitive and fair compared to others. Douglas carries SunTek and 3M window tinting product lines. His motto is "the best for less" and trust that his skilled workmanship will get him more business via word-of-mouth. I had Douglas work on my 2007 Subaru Legacy Station Wagon. I brought a 2021 Rav4 to have tinting on all windows (20 and 35%). These guys did a great job, it looks fantastic. King Tint uses 3M for their work and has a guarantee. I brought my car here a while back at the old location after getting a great detail job by Phil at ADS. I can't say many negative things about the work, which was decent. I can't say it was the best price though. My real problems stem from the lack of organization by the owner. He double booked me with someone else, which not only delayed my car from being worked on, but showed that either a) he didn't have faith in me coming back, or b) he just isn't dedicated to his customers. There were no apologies or offers to get my car done quickly and efficiently. I wasn't even offered a loaner car. And to top that off, he left the interior of my car FILTHY! To be honest, I only went there because I was so impressed by the detail work by Phil at ADS. I would not recommend anyone taking their business there. read more

We set up an appointment for two cars, one coupe and one wagon on Monday morning. Douglas was quick in responding to my question and said to bring it by first thing Monday. When we got there, Douglas was friendly and did not pressure us into something we weren't comfortable with. After all, dropping a signficant investment in window tinting is something we don't do everyday. Douglas showed us the different options with metallic and non-metallic tints and it's many shades. We choose 20% all around on the coupe and 35% in the front and 20% all around with the wagon. He said it would take about 6 hours from the time we drop off the car (3 hours per car) and promised to give us a call when it was ready. His assistant, Hector dropped us off at the local mall. Fast forward to 6 hours later and I got a bit impatient and decided to give him a call. Douglas picked up and said the cars were ready in a about 10 mins. Hector picked us up in the coupe and we were both shocked at the work they both did. When he brought us back to the shop, we saw both cars and it was simply amazing. Douglas and Hector did a magnificent job and it clearly shows. There are a few air bubbles in the car now, but they promised it will disappear in a few days. The tints look great and Douglas and Hector have awesomeness skills in this field. The price was very reasonable for the quality and the time he puts into it. Just got my brand new 2015 TLX tinted 5% on 5 rear and 15% on 2 front. Extremely happy with the results. For the price and opening availability, can't be beat, was going to get charged nearly double the price and 1.5 month wait time at another shop I got quoted at. Don't know what all the reviews are saying about bad customer service, the dudes that work here were cool and chill as f*ck, stuck to the appointment i made and stuck to completion time they told me it would be done by. Called for a quote yesterday, made appointment for today. Showed up and dropped off my car for 10am appointment, was told to come back by 2 to get the car. Showed up at like 1:50 to get the car, wait 15 mins and boom done pretty much on time like they said. All these people complaining bout nowhere to sit are the kind that complain about every little thing about other places as well like: (the lighting was too low for my liking, the seat was wobbly, the air smelled funny in the shop, the grass wasn't green enough on the front, the paint on the building looked old, wha wha wha). No where to sit, oh well, call someone and get picked up, that's exactly what I did. Thought I was going to wait around but decided to randomly just hit up a friend and get picked up. Granted my driver side puddle light wasn't working after the install, but shit happens and possibly could've or might not had to do with the tint install, but that's what I have a simple screw driver for to pop the door panel off, fidget with the wires, and get it working again, no big deal. read more

My friend referred me to this place. When I entered, I was greeted and told that it was by appointment only - so I made appointment and came next day. I came here thinking there was a chair at least or couch to sit on while I wait to get my car tinted and there wasn't none. So if you bring your car here, make sure you get a ride from your friend as you don't want to wait here while your car is being worked on. There were two associates that work on my car. The owner and the assistant. The owner was great in guaranteeing the quality of the materials he use. There are two types of tinting materials he has. King tint has the standard tint and the 3M tint which he says retains it tint quality longer. I chose the 3M tint and the quality was great of course. Quality materials King Tint has it, obviously. ***** Service: 1. King Tiny needs a couch or at least a chair to accommodate his customers who have no choice to wait. 2. I have a 2000 BMW and came exactly when they opened. I also had the first appointment. A second car came, a newer Prius with a later appointment and they work on his car before mine. How unfair? This 2nd customer whom had a later appointment got his car worked on first and released much much earlier than mine. Remember, I was there first and had an earlier appointment. 3. Being observant as I do not like stranger working on my car, King Tint's assistant had to move my car just a bit, and the assistant kept on cranking the ignition on my car. He cranked my ignition for like 15 seconds. OMG assistant do you know what you are doing? I felt at this time that they were just plain ignorant. During this time, my anxiety level increased some more. 4. Of course, King Tiny has to remove the door panel to apply the tint properly. I noticed that after I left the store, my car door lock wouldn't lock properly. The door lock will not moe up or down as I am assuming when they ut the cars door panel back together, they musth ve forget to align something. So I have to ask my mechanic friend to help me fix this. This has never ever happened before. I asked him if he can check it out and King Tiny said there was already a problem with the door. Well that is totally untrue as I had never had any issue with the doorbeing unable to unlock and lock ever since I had the car forthe last 8 years. Only this time it occurs and he blames it on my car. How dumb and he couldn't even want to help me fix it. He wanted $ to fix it and at that time, I didn't want him nor his assistant touching my car anymore. 5. Receipt. I asked King Tint for a receipt and it seemed like he didn't want to give me one. When I asked him again and his secretary girl friend over heard, she made him give me a receipt. BUT the copy of the receipy seemed really inelligible as it looked like a copy of a carbon copy of a copied carbon copy. At this time, I just wanted to leave this place and never see this place again. Overall, the quality of the materials he used was good and he applied it well. The services suck as his assistant continuously cranked the crap out of my ignition, and the door panel when he replaced it back on didn't align something causing my door to jam more than once and had to get a mechanic to repair it. AND if you make an appointment, I'm pretty sure he'll work on someone else's car during your appointment time and make you wait longer. I wouldn't bring my family's car here for window tinting. I brought my car to him on a Friday at about 4:30pm and Douglas worked on it w/ his team until 11:30pm. I had the chance to pick up the car that Friday night but opted to pick it up Saturday morning. Fantastic job! Before I left, he informed me of everything I needed to know for care and protection and also gave me the warranty cards. He was kind enough to squeeze me in with my fresh purchased 09 Civic. I was able to drop off the car and pick it up later in the evening that same day! I took my car to King Tint after driving it to NY and back to CA, with my DOG!!! So, the main issue was hair everywhere! Needless to say, they had my car done the next day and there is no more pet hair. My car hadn't looked so clean since I bought it (new in 2006). Douglas did a tint removal on the back window of my STI. He did a superb job whilst I waited in his waiting room (complete with comfy couch,TV and internet). Two issues: he made an error on the time of the appointment and double-booked. To be fair, once he got to my car he did the job very quickly, so it didn't take much longer than I was expecting. Also, he said at the end that doesn't take credit cards and I had to pay an outrageous 10% surcharge for the detailing guy he shares the space with to run the charge through his machine. Would have been nice to have known about this AHEAD of time. One thing: he says he's moving soon, so call him first to make sure the address hasn't changed. read more

Got my crv tinted here a few years back. At the time, I got 5% limo tint (3M brand) on all the back windows/rear windshield and nothing on the front for $250. This time around for my accord I wanted a lil more of a blend so I got 50% in the front and 20% in the back. I was told the 50% wouldn't look like much but it actually looks pretty dark. Maybe it's the combination with darker tint in the back. I opted for the cheaper tint the second time around (Excel for $200 all 7 windows) since there's a lifetime warranty anyways. He used to sell suntek as his cheaper brand but the color of the excel tint matches more closely with the 3M tint color. (as opposed to the more brownish suntek) Douglas does a real good job and I would've given 5 stars if not for a minor problem with my door. The front passenger door won't open from the inside! I was fine with them removing the door panels to tint the whole window but unfortunately this happened and I had to go back on the next Monday (was the last customer on a Saturday so he left the shop right after doing my tint). By the time I noticed the problem when I got home, he was already gone. So as long as u check that everything works before you leave the shop, you'll be fine with his lifetime warranty on peeling, bubbling, fading. Definitely recommend getting tint done at KingTint, it's worth it! read more

I was happy with the end result of the 3M tinting on my brand new Monte Carlo. Douglas was very nice and also informative. Also received a nice car detailing from Phil. Drawback** Douglas has a young guy doing most the prep work. He banged my car door against a metal tool shed thing. NOT good considering i've only had this car for 3 days and it is brand new!! Douglas quickly wrapped the car door in a protective layer and scolded the kid. There was also liquid drips all over the interior of the car. This was left from the liquid they spray on the window (not exactly sure what this spray is). It was not cleaned or wiped away, instead dried into the vinyl. These are small issues but could have been avoided. Overall, I was happy with the way my car looked so I overlooked these minor screw ups. read more
