King soopers was my all time favorite store until COVID19 . Athough there are guidelines and local mandates regarding facial coverings, and store capacity allowing for social distancing. In my local kings not only do they not enforce customers wearing facial coverings, if a customer attempts to address those concerns with management they are told to contact the police themselves. Not a word is said to the offender. They make no attempt to limit store capacity at volume times making social distancing impossible. It would appear that the income potential is far more valueable then the health and safety of customers and employees. After the death of several kings employees one would think employees would be restricted from providing assistance or service to customers who are not compliant with mask policies. In actuality if employees resist assisting noncompliant customers they are told they have the option of going home without pay . I understand kings cannot be solely responsible for my safefy while in thier stores, but i do expect them to follow guidelines and local ordinances which enable me to protect myself. I once believed walmart to be the money hungery corporation that valued my dollar above all else, but clearly times have changed. Walmarts have reduced hours to ensure proper sanitizing, and enforce mask policy as dictated by local governments, but they also limit store capacity and attempt to direct customers through thier stores with one way traffic in aisles and discourage long "hang out" shoppers. Who are doing more killing time then shopping. According to wikipedia,
In 1947, Lloyd J. King and Charles W. Houchens opened the first King Soopers store in Arvada, Colorado. Their mission was to offer shoppers "friendly service, value, cleanliness, and quality". This mission seems to have lost its meaning today. read more
