Being from Ohio, we're regular Kroger shoppers. In Colorado, King Sooper's is part of the Kroger brand. King Sooper's carries a number of Kroger brand products and their delivery vehicles are branded "Kroger". SO -- shopping at King Sooper's feels very much like home. This store is renovating their front entrance so you need to dodge a little construction getting in and out. The in-store selection is good and I found the staff to be helpful and friendly. read more

I am cool with this King Soopers. Was here after our dinner @ Texas Roadhouse, a couple miles away. I need to get some stuffs, and since this was the nearest King Soopers which is still opened, I ask Hubs to go here instead. Time was about 22:10hrs. WORST...KING...SOOPERS...EVER. - Rude, entitled employees. The people who work self checkout in the afternoons are often too high to do their job properly. Ask someone for help and a typical response is, "That's really not my job." - They go months without having prominent items in stock. You can find these items at any other King Soopers in the area, but not here. - They don't carry items you can find at most King Soopers. I came here the other day looking for Fresh Pet dog food, something I can find at any other King Soopers in the area, but not here. - Cleanliness is subpar at best. - The franchise owner is clearly lazy and doesn't want to better the store in any way. There were rumors that when the Walmart moved in, the King Soopers would undergo some remodels. Years later, it's worse than ever. - Most King Soopers have a Starbucks inside. They have adequate space for one, but again, the franchise owner is lazy and doesn't want to do anything to better the store I live half a mile away from here, but often drive to the Ward Road King Soopers. Picking up your food from here is just a waste of time. I had two crying babies in the car while the card swiper wasn't working. This isn't the first time I've had problems with pickup. Other than than the cashier's-the deli & the pharmacy - the help is a bunch of kids screeching at each other, & they are completely clueless where anything is located, the entire summer there has been zero air conditioning -i asked & was told there is no plan to repaired it! The Pharmacy staff are amazing!!!! They are dedicated to their job, kind and go above and beyind. I've been a loyal customer to Walgreen for prescriptions for myself and family. For two months in a row I tried to refill prescriptions at 4 different locations in Arvada. I could so much at get a phone call to go through. Kings staff was so kind in getting ahold of the perscibing Dr. get a new script and apply a discount card. I was pleased and surprised by this. I went in looking for somewhere to refill my water jugs and here's how that went. I asked the first person I saw he said to ask someone else. The next person frankly she had an attitude and told me she was busy and to ask someone else. And you know what that's fine so I go and find someone else she says to ask the people at customer service and guess what there was no one at the customer service. At this point I think o well I'll just look for it myself then I found someone working that didn't appear busy so I asked them if they knew if there was a water dispenser again I was told to ask someone else. I searched everywhere and there was no water dispenser which is fine. What upsets me is the fact that I asked four different people and none of them could provide with a simple answer. I've been coming to this KS for a while since it's convenient. They have a good selection and good prices for most things, which is nice. As other reviews have mentioned, the layout is different than other KS stores I have been in. I bought a book for a gift at another KS in Denver and needed to return it when I found out the person already had it. When I attempted to return it with a receipt about 2 weeks later, the clerk told me she had to get permission from her manager. It took her almost 15 minutes to come back with the manager. The manager asked me a several questions in a very nasty tone, basically accusing me of reading the book and trying to return it for credit. After going back and forth with him for several minutes, I gave up and left with the book. If you buy a book here, be sure it's something you really want because it won't be easy to return it. They don't have a policy printed anywhere that says there is a time limit on returning books or any nonfood item. There are much better KS stores around and I'll be spending my money there. read more

Renovation needed at this aging chain grocer. I typically get my groceries at King Soopers, and this was my closest option at my new home. Unfortunately, this store is disappointing. The aisles are crammed into the building in a strange manner. Unlike other King Soopers stores, the refrigerated cases here are often placed in odd locations with huge gaps between them. Also, the parking lot is a pain to get into and out of and the entrance to the store is always crowded. For some reason, this particular store seems to attract a lot of "strange" people. This is the store for you if you enjoy families of obese people walking around in filthy sweat pants, groups of elderly women debating vegetables in the middle of aisles, and the occasional man meandering through the checkout line having an imaginary and incoherent conversation. Otherwise, drive a few minutes to one of the better stores. read more

Pretty darned good produce selection. The store is laid out strangely. Things aren't where they should be, which is maddening. And it's always crowded. Decent prices. The aisles are small, and people are constantly bumping into each other. When I'm not in the mood for the crowd (which is most of the time), I go to the nearby Safeway. Safeway doesn't have as big of a selection, but at least it saves my sanity. But I usually end up having to come back here, anyway, because Safeway doesn't have it. The parking lot is always crowded, too. I guarantee you will have to wait in the checkout line for at least 10 or 15 minutes. read more

Employees here in all departments are slow, rude, and inventing a new phrase anti-helpful. Every single time there is anything that requires interaction with an employee here expect it to waste anywhere from fifteen minutes to a half hour of your time. Was here shopping with my girlfriend, bought some 2 liters of soda on sale, the register didn't properly ring it in, someone runs to check the price, comes back, gets another employee to go check, comes back, plays with register for a while, sends the original employee back again, moves us to another register to try to ring it through again even though at this point we don't even care about the soda anymore and want to be free from this horrible joke. (Lost time = 23 minutes) Came in to have prescription filled, was told it was going to be about 15 minutes because it was simple, shopped a little and came back after 20 minutes, it wasn't done - at this point there were no customers and the pharmacist in back was chatting with other people, he called over the counter it would be done in 15 minutes past the counter person. We shrugged and shopped some more, came back 15 minutes later, still no customers waiting, and prescription still not done, when the counter girl went back to talk to him, he loudly stated "Crap! I forgot again! I will do that now." she told us to wait and it took him 1 minute to fill the prescription. (Lost time = most likely 35 minutes, Lost sanity = plenty) Apart from this there has been times I have shopped here and the whole meat department was filled with green rotting meat that filled the whole store with its stench, good news it was marked down as a manager's special though. Stockers will blockade entire isles and blast music through their phones and other devices oblivious to customers attempting to shop, so plan on enjoying a cacophonic mixture of dubstep, Staind, along with some hiphop crashing into the store's own music as you parkour through their unfriendly obstacle course if you ever make the mistake of shopping here when their crews are working. There are other grocery stores to go to, and I go to them unless for some reason I am in dire need to punish myself, then I shop here. read more

This king soopers is close by and has a gas station so you can get your discount. We shop here for the big days although I much prefer the Safeway for it's quiet solitude. The pharmacy at this King Soopers SUCKS. 3 months in a row they basically lost my prescription and all records of it even though my doctor faxed and called. Use the Safeway pharmacy or somewhere else. Price wise and produce wise they beat the other stores in the neighborhood. They have damn good soup too. I like to go here late at night to get a glimpse of Alta Vistas creatures of the night. read more

I would give it 0 stars if I could. This establishment is absolutely lousy! The employees are more concerned with inappropriate conduct and gossiping than doing their jobs. Wait time for anything is ridiculous, shelves always messy and most employees are extremely rude when their asked something. I am new to Arvada and started shopping at this King Soopers. I go every weekend at 7:30am. I shop for the week and always have a buggy full. They do not EVER have a lane open at that time and I don't think 7:30am is unusually early. I have to track someone down to check out my order and there is a gal there who is always happy to open her lane and check my order. Well the most recent visit a few weeks ago, no lanes open so I asked the guy in self service (hispanic, unusually long hair) if he could check my order and he replied, "no, you have to go through self service." I told him no I have a buggy full and self service is not equipped for large orders, it is awkward and bagging that many items is not convenient. He said, well that is your choice and went back to standing there. I proceeded to scan and bag my $110 worth of groceries on my own (I should have just left). When I was all done, paid and trying to bag the rest of my groceries he came over and asked if I paid for my water. I said yes, that was the first thing I entered if he did not see me lift it from under the cart. He had a little machine in his hand and stood directly behind me and said no you did not pay for that water (a $2.00 water mind you) I checked my receipt and low and behold it did not take my water or my tea I got at checkout. I said, ok well if you would have checked out my order instead of being lazy and standing there, this would not have happened. He laughed and took the water (didn't ask about the tea but I set it on the checkout) and I left. His biggest concern was not providing good or even mediocre customer service but badgering me for a 2.00 water (that I lifted out of the cart and scanned) out of a 110.00 grocery order. Awful experience and I will not ever go back. I now go to the one on 38th and Sheridan. Wonderful management and customer service. Nicer store and better parking too. Oh and they have a checker at 7:30am on the weekends. AWESOME! read more

Never will I stop at this long Sooners again! THEIR machine wasn't working and was scanning my items but not registering it at the self check out stations. The parking lot is a nightmare. Then you get inside, and there's a traffic jam just inside the door to get carts / bump into people leaving / gridlock. Don't take a left just after the customer service desk, because every single time, there will be carts confusingly bumping into eachother. Ok if you can handle the cart traffic, they have a nice fruit and veggie selection. Their meat section is weird looking here, so I get that elsewhere. It IS nice that the dairy is on the other side of the store from the veggies. At my old supermarket, I would get my veggies and dairy in the same spot, then finish shopping a half hour later, check out, drive home, and wonder how long your milk has been unrefrigerated... So that's nice. They also seem to have good brand selection for most items. But then I check out and hit that gridlock again, get annoyed, almost get run over in the parking lot, almost get in 3 car accidents, and finally leave. This is probably a 3 star establishment, but it's convenient and the pharmacy tech is cute. read more

They do have a few wonderful employees here. But that's all this store has. I generally shop here, but they seem to think it's acceptable for a customer to carry around a rat dog that looks like it had hair falling out in a baby carrier on the front of her. This was no service dog! Management needs to step up and stop being intimidated by customers. I know how difficult that can be, but there other customers in the store that deserve respect as well. read more

Horrible place! I have been shopping here almost a year. Parking us terrible. .I have never seem so many handicap parking spaces. Don't get me wrong we need them but we don't need this many. ..even during the busiest times they aren't filled up...reducing the already horribly crowded regular parking. It's really dirty,disorganized and understaffed. I have had the same issue 4 separate times going there....the lines are huge...and inevitably I will have been waiting in line for 30 already when I ask the manager that is chatting with her bestie..if she can open another lane she rolls her eyes and leisurely calls somone..then goes to the back of a line and picks someone who just walked up to go...then everyone else in the back of the lines fight for the next spot. That was the last straw! I don't care how much I will save...I will never go here again. NO common sense or courtesy...it's gross! And yes the other person who commented on here was right about many strange people. Thanks King Soopers but no thanks! !! read more
