Given the pace on the weekend, I might recommend walking if it's not too hot... The course is not incredibly challenging, but it's got a little elevation here and there with one water hazard. The greens were well maintained and the tee boxes were generally in good condition. The rest of the course was a little dry due to the extreme drought we've been having but that helped my ball get a good roll a few times :) It took us three hours to golf nine holes due to slow movement in front of us. We didn't have time to finish the back nine so we went into the clubhouse to ask for a rain check and they were completely cool with that. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! The staff in the clubhouse and on the course all have a great attitude and deliver great customer service. I commend them on their service! This course is going to be in my rotation from now on.

Everything was true. There was not a single hole where I felt comfortable hitting the driver off the tee. It was 3 wood or my trusty hybrid pretty much all the way, except for the par 3s, naturally. A few tee boxes were beat up a little. The fairways and greens were all in good shape. But there was plenty of trouble lurking if you missed the fairway. The rough was high to near impossible to get out of, plus there were plenty of thick woods and high reeds to gobble up to your wayward shot. Even playing the white tees the course seemed longer than most public courses. Yes it is a challenging course forcing you to play positional golf for much of the round. But by no means was it unfair. $67 for 18 with cart on Sunday, which seemed a little steep. I understand Peabody residents get a discount as the course is owned by the town. My only real gripe was the snack bar just ran out of hotdogs when we made the turn after nine :( I played well, hitting the shorter woods, and was happy with my round. I would definitely play it again.

Asked another cart only to find they were lost too. Very frustrating. We play lots of golf but this course was a new low in layout and signage. PS. Get a cart. Two years later we went back. Very sad to see the state of the course. Every course on the north shore is lush from the rains but not the Meadow. Either the greenskeeper isn't s greenskeeper or the city is not giving them money to maintain the course. The fairways are patches of grass surrounded by thousands of divots. The place needs mowing by professionals. Scrapes and scalps everywhere. The rough is all clover and ridiculously high. We lost seven balls that were a couple of feet off the fairway. Not a fun place to play. At least the signage is better.

Capital Hill is a fabulous stop on the Robert Trent Jones golf trail. This site boast three full…read morechampionship tracks named the Senator, Legislator, and the Judge. I spent three days here in June, and played the Senator and Legislator twice each and the Judge once. What a treat! The Senator is a links style layout that is very challenging. There are no trees, moderate elevation changes, lots of bumps, and plenty of sand bunkers. There are many blind shots where strategic placement of drives and layups are critical. The wind was blowing when we played, and I imagined it was close to playing an old course somewhere in Scotland. This Legislator is a beautiful course that is a traditional layout. The course meanders through woodlands and tree lined fairways. The back nine starts with a memorable ride past the clubhouse. The cart path winds down an elaborate wooden bridge. The back nine has some unique holes with a stretch that runs along a mountain ridge. #15 is a par four with a dramatic downhill tee shot to a wide fairway. I thought the Judge was hardest and most beautiful of the three courses. It runs along the Alabama River and water is in play on most of the holes. The view from #1 tee box is spectacular. It is extreme downhill drive to a narrow fairway. Two of the par threes are essentially shots to an island greens that require precise accuracy. This track measures about 5900 yards from the white tees, but it feels much bigger. The par fives are long and difficult(#7 measured 575 yard and #10 is 503).

She made sure every detail was handled from the first, incredibly detailed inquiry email to the follow up email with a special picture of my daughter and nephew. Our guests had, and still have, glowing reviews of her staff, the room set up, the outrageously good food, and ceremony and reception flow, and especially the kindness she showed to EVERY guest. Donna and her staff were accommodating, flexible, and generous were their time and expertise. There were plenty of beautiful locations for photos and the ceremony. Every single detail was perfectly mastered. The entire staff looked calm and relaxed. There was never a moment of panic or rushing. Donna seemed to be in every place, at every moment. My husband and I snuck away immediately after the ceremony to share a plate of hors d'oeuvres in the grooms suite (I can't recommend this enough. Do this! Take 5 minutes to sit in the quiet and relax together.) At one point during outdoor pictures I commented to my daughter, "I didn't eat enough." BAM! Food. Not too many water obstacles, not many sand traps. Course is challenging - mostly par 4's and a few par 5's and 3's. No place to eat or drink after play. Plastic outhouses - it would be nice to have a real toilet and sink. Carts are dirty, rusty and old. Course is very tight. Some balls easily end up on other fairways. Never found one set of red markers (9). Overall, a good course in a pinch.

Katrina worked with us to have mini-tea sandwiches - chicken salad, cucumber, smoked salmon, fig and goat cheese. She provided gluten-free and dairy-free options. I wanted to have three different kinds of tea on each table and she was fine with that. We provided our own tea pots that we had thrifted. Katrina decorated the room with napkins in the wedding colors. She even made the napkins at each seat into roses. They were placed on each plate and looked lovely. We brought in our own scones and mini pastries. The mimosa bar was a hit. The staff was great - all very friendly and helpful. At the end, they emptied and rinsed all our tea pots so they would be easy for us to get home. I thought the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend the venue and Katrina and her staff. I am trying to think of another excuse for an event there!
