I've been to this nail salon plenty of times. I don't get my nails and pedicure regularly. I usually don't come unless I'm going on vacation or something special. I was a regular pre covid. I'm writing this review because I've had two blatant disrespectful encounters with Jack. Who actually was my go to nail tech. I followed him from Secret Nails. So I was taken aback today from his rude encounters. At first I thought maybe I misread the response, so I asked him what was the problem. He immediately and rudely referred me to another tech because I only wanted a polish change. I'm wondering if my money isn't good for him or the establishment as a whole. I've never received bad service from anyone else and in fact the tech that did my nails tried to explain away Jacks rudeness. I was here in October and their behavior (4 months later) is still offensive. I didn't write at the time because I hate emotional reviews...and I'd had had an all-out negative experience, so I thought I should calm down before adding my review. But, here goes... First: I was assigned to a female and got shoved off to a guy who had been standing around in the back. When he sat down, I showed him pictures of what I wanted (short acrylics, full set, straight w/rounded corners, nude polish). I showed him pictures of what I DIDN'T want : thick, boxy nails that look like backwards shovels. I have narrow fingers and have had the same style nail from my home salon for yearssss. But I was out of town and thought this would be uneventful. To start off, the gentleman (I'm being generous) cut one acrylic thumbnail much shorter than the other. When I pointed to it and smiled, he said it would be fine. (Like I was being impatient.) Ok, I thought, maybe you've got some magic in your process. I decided to wait and see. Next, he used a CLUMP of acrylic on my ring finger nail. It was completely lopsided, you know, toward the top by the cuticle so that it looks like a deformity. By now, I was having a hard time concentrating because my thumbnails were still drastically different - but when I noticed he was now BUFFING the clump, I again, smiled and pointed...figuring he would file it down to even it out. Well, instead of just taking care of it, he suddenly pushed off of the table, (chair rolling) put his hands in the air, stood up and started walking off saying a whole lot of words that I couldn't understand. WHAT A DRAMA QUEEN! I almost looked around to see if I could spot a camera - this couldn't be real. Seriously? 3-4 minutes later, another woman came to replace him. No explanation, no greeting. She just put her head down and got to work. I pointed at the thumbs and yep, it was my fault..."your thumbs are uneven." I pointed to the lop-sided ring finger...she squinted, acted as if I were showing her something the size of a flea and said, "I don't see nothing." There's that. She was going to start my nail polish and I asked "Doesn't this include a hand massage?" (Now, to be clear, I NEVER get a hand massage. But their price was so much higher than what I pay back home and their justification seemed to be how they "include a hand massage" - BESIDES, I saw all of the OTHER women on my row get all kinds of hand massages...where's MY hand massage?) Lol. What are the chances this ends well? This lady (who I think might have been the manager) left my station, cantankerously walked over to the sink area and brought back a used, dirty-looking, open pot of cream. She dug her fingers in, slapped it on my hands, resentfully went back and forth a couple of times and started my nail polish. (Now, how does one push through that and ask for an appropriate hand massage from someone who is acting like an absolute animal? What were the chances she would have cared enough to turn all of this around? Nope. I was done) I just sat through the polish phase and finished doing my time at the nail dryers. ...hours later, I was at the grocery store and found a dirty chunk of the cream in the crease of my arm. I regret not having taken a picture of it to add to my review. I still remember all of this FOUR MONTHS LATER. (Clearly, there are GREAT Nail Techs who care about doing their best - some of them may even work here but I won't be returning to find out. I am never one to complain and I give people a lot of grace. However, the customer service at this place is awful. I was sat down and ignored for a good 20 minutes. Then a very rude lady came and turned my water on boiling hot and left before I could tell her it was too hot. She returned a few minutes later and said which pedicure. No greeting not friendly at all. Then she literally threw the nail colors in my lap prompting me to pick a color. She was rude, aggressive and not friendly at all. She kept tapping my foot annoyed when she was ready for me to give her my other foot. She rushed me through the service so fast I felt cheated. Then she said go dry so I thought she was telling me to go sit and dry my nails. There was no where to dry my nails in that fancy place. The place is very nice looking but I will not be back due to the rude customer service. Reading other reviews shows me this is ongoing. The owner needs to step it up and teach basic customer service skills. Do not waste your money. The place looks nice but service is awful. It's deceiving. I called and asked to speak to the owner. They told me the owner was not there and a lady got on the phone. She barely spoke English so I just said the service is not good, they need to treat people better. I told her what happened and she just said ok I'll tell the manager. Sorry ma'am. She didn't care. The cleanliness is lacking in many areas. I had a lady by the name "Kim" take care of me. She was in a rush. Her priority was to keep customers in knowing they were understaffed. She wore no gloves. Rough with my feet. Her tools weren't sterilized and she got upset when I told her if I could have clean tools. She had another person take over the pedicure. I also saw customers come in w/ appt. & the nail tech had a walk in customer even though the customer made her appointment weeks ahead. read more

Second time coming with two different experiences. The second impression did not uphold the first. I received a gel manicure that is four days old and has already chipped on three nails and they look old already. My pedicure is starting to chip as well but the pedicure was rushed for the amount paid. Clean environment but no impressionable employees. Kevin that provided my services seemed customer focus. They did offer water. Hesitant about coming back for a third chance but the location is convenient and well put together. 7 Day manicure update: Day 6 they were all lifting and catching on to my hair. They all unpeeled whole and I put them in a bag to show them proof. I went in told them Kevin did my nails, which is the store manager. They spoke among themselves and presumed to say it can happen after three days and I needed to come back earlier and not take them off and can't wash my hands a lot. I told them I've never had a gel manicure not last for at least two weeks. I asked if the manager was going to apologize they said no. The customer service Kevin provided doing my nails was a completed 360 from coming back with an complaint. Couldn't look me in the eyes just it's not his issue. His wife did my nails and kept explaining how he doesn't remember people when that has nothing to do with apologizing. Long story short his wife redid my manicure and I mentioned that I would be posting a review and they'd loose my business. Kim Tran was aggressive with the nail tool around my nail cuticle. I told her more than twice that it hurt and flinched in pain when she continued to hit the spot and it bled. She was rude and rough. She also seemed as if she had an attitude because I wasn't as relaxed as she wanted me to be. I am a dental hygienist and I deal with dental anxiety on a daily basis. I would not be able to hold a job if I was rude and rough with patients when they didn't relax to my liking. I went to get a gel fill-in and gel pedicure. Some of my toes are uneven and she didn't clean it up very well, but it's nothing I can't fix. I really like my nails! She was ripping my nails off. Never have I experienced this before! Instead of soaking my nails in acetone like every other nail tech has done then filing them away. She was literally pulling my nails off. The first two nails I jerked away you would think she got the hint. She moved on to the third and I told her "you are hurting me ma'am" she moved on to the 4th nail and she tried to be more gentle but wasn't getting anywhere so she continued on with her method of sticking and unused nail between the fake fake nail and my nail and went to yanking it off again. I told her we we were done. I walked out with half my nails ripped off. I used to get dip powder done all the time when we lived in California last year. This is my first time doing dip powder in Florida and I came here because I was told highly recommended. $45 for dip powder, and she used the light which I thought wasn't supposed to happen for dip ...and no lotion or cuticle cutter or hand massage I was thoroughly upset. I went without an appt and asked for a full set. they sent me to the worst of all the bad techs there. Anyways, I was looking at my nails as she did them. they were good in length and not thick like I asked. My face changed when she was putting the color. The only "design" I asked was a french tip, that's all, nothing crazy. I kind of noticed a weird shape on the design, but I let it go because the lighting in there was not as good and I had new contacts that I was still getting used to them. So I paid and left. when I got home my daughter noticed the bumps on the nail and the bad shape of the tips. I was very disappointed, hated my nails to a point that I removed them myself later that day. Why is it so hard to get a good, professional nail place here in Jacksonville? I come in to get a pedicure with my friend and originally I wanted the basic pedicure for $25 (with KELLY) and switched over to the $30 one and pointed it out as well. Also my friend followed suit and we tipped them well and at the end they charged us for the second to last highest pedicure knowing I pointed it out and said the price. Ultimately they said we were wrong and overcharged us anyways. We were polite in asking and all but they wanted to speak their language and not communicate clearly with us. This is the service I was looking for but these days are very hard to find. Not to mention Ricky did the best manicure and pedicure I ever had so far.
