The food was well packaged and the sandwiches were wrapped really well. When ordering Bahn Mi sometimes you don't know what you're going to get. These were on the pricier side and small compared to the Bahn Mi I'm used to getting. I will say the chicken in the Bahn mi was a little dry but the bread was really tasty. My husband really enjoyed his teriyaki chicken and would order again. I can't say too much about the ambiance as we took our food to go. Parking can be a challenge in the area as it's sparse.

Nestled just off the beaten path near a slightly industrial area of Waco, I discovered an…read moreunexpected gem, Cajun Craft. I was staying near Waco for a few days, but the area I was in had very limited choices for food. So, I looked up some nearby restaurants in Waco, and found Cajun Craft. It was worth the drive in from where I was staying. From the outside, it doesn't look like much: small parking lot, rusted roof, etc. However, I have found that often conceals some of the best places. An immediate friendly greeting was offered at the door and I was surprised by the quaint setting. There were only a few tables near the bar, but there was a covered patio attached and even more seating outside. The menu offered most of the traditional Cajun dishes at a modest price, but I already knew what I wanted. I ordered the Atchafalaya Catfish, a catfish filet over a bed of rice smothered in crawfish Étouffée. It was amazing. The Étouffée was rich and hearty, with the perfect spice level, maybe the best I have had west of Baton Rouge. The catfish was crisp and golden, giving a great balance to the creamy Étouffée. If you are ever in the Waco area and have a craving for some authentic Cajun cuisine, you must give Cajun Crafts a visit.

My order of Chicken & Broccoli, and Mu Shu Pork were both well prepared, and as good as anything I have had in San Francisco where I live. Regarding the Mu Shu Pork, the restaurant provided Wonton wrappers, vs the traditional pancakes, and did not provide a Plum or Hoisin sauce that is often added to the Mu Shu Pork packet. FYI, H-E-B should carry Hoisin Sauce which we had. Overall a good experience, I would go back.

Walked in, greeted by the server, she was very nice and recommended a few dishes. So far so good. One star for her. Here's where it went wrong. I'm thinking okay, lunch price was fairly decent so I ordered the lunch portion as I don't eat that much. Boy was I wrong. It was less than a cup of rice that was soaked in gravy sauce that was overly sweet. It was probably less than a cup of riced cooked. Wow, shock that you would charge $12 for that bowl. Not what I expected from a clay pot rice. My husband ordered the Pho and he said it was alright but one piece of mint is ridiculous and it was $20. Zero star for the food. The only reason I gave it another star is because of the music. We heard some Cambodian music. Not what I would hear in a Vietnamese restaurant but I'll take it since we're Chinese/Cambodian American. Would I return, most likely not.

This was my second time visiting this place, and I really enjoyed it again!…read more There were four of us, and we spent around $50 total, which I thought was pretty reasonable for everything we ordered. For appetizers, we got the crab puffs. The combination of the crispy puff, cream cheese, and crab was delicious! We also ordered the steamed dumplings, which had a nice combination of vegetables and ground meat. I liked that the appetizers balanced each other out--one was a little sweeter, while the other was more savory. For our main dishes, we ordered Kung Pao chicken with fried rice. You really can't go wrong with Kung Pao chicken! The spice level was just right for me, although I do enjoy spicy food, so keep that in mind if you prefer milder flavors. We also ordered the beef with snow peas, and I was honestly surprised by how much I liked it. It was a new way for me to try snow peas, and I'm officially a fan! We also got the wonton soup. It looks simple, but it has a lot of flavor and was actually a nice palate cleanser between dishes. I went with my aunt, who usually isn't a big fan of eating out because she tends to have not-so-great experiences. However, this place earned her "I like it" stamp both for the food and the service! The only thing she mentioned was that the food was a little salty for her taste. She usually eats food with very little salt, though, so I think that's more of a personal preference than a complaint about the food itself. The restaurant itself is pretty, welcoming, and comfortable, and the service was fast and friendly. Definitely a place I'd come back to!

Drink: I ordered a large peach green tea with boba, no ice,…read moreand it was fantastic. The tea was brewed beautifully , fresh, balanced, and not syrupy sweet like some other boba spots. The boba itself was perfectly chewy and just sweet enough to complement the drink, not overpower it. I also really appreciated that, even with no ice, they filled my cup completely to the top. Simple, thoughtful detail and it makes all the difference. Service: The staff here was genuinely kind and patient. I asked a few questions about sweetness levels and tea bases (I'm mindful about sugar intake), and they answered every one with care, no judgment, no pressure, no upselling. They made the drink exactly how I ordered it and didn't try to push other menu options on me. That respect and attentiveness go such a long way. Ambiance: Cha Community has such a warm, creative vibe, red brick walls, cozy coffeehouse energy, indie music, local art, and stickers that make the space feel personal and loved. The whole café smelled amazing, and you can tell they've put heart into the details. It's the kind of place that feels like a little pocket of calm and connection in the middle of the day. Overall: Highly recommend stopping here if you're in Waco. The experience was night and day, proof that quality, care, and consistency matter more than anything else. Refer to my Poppa Bear review if you want the comparison, but honestly, just come to Cha Community first.
