They also have a full service bar where you can order. Brisket sandwich is legit good. But the King Sandwich has cheese sauce, two jalapeño poppers, and smoked sausage for only $2 more. Mac and Cheese is heavy on the cheese and delicious. Potato salad is different. I enjoyed it but the flavor contrasts with the bbq flavors instead of complimenting them. Multiple sauce bottles are available at your table and I was surprised that I enjoyed the western Carolina style the most. Banana pudding was good. I would definitely come back when in JAX.

Smaller price, but smaller beer. Pic attached represents what was handed to me before I took a sip - stingy and flat. Got the burnt ends and jalapeño poppers for an appetizer, and the wings for dinner. Burt ends were delicious, smoky and flavorful. However, poppers and wings were pretty bland. They could have used more seasoning. It's an ok place and definitely very popular. Lots of after work traffic dropping in. I just don't get the appeal of a happy hour short on pour and bland bbq. But hey, it's just my taste and opinions.

We came in on a Wednesday evening. We asked about the menu and were told at the counter that it was Wing Wednesday and the wings were $1 each. Well how could we not add those onto our order. We ordered a Burnt Ends platter with mac and cheese, and corn nuggets, a Brisket Platter with corn nuggets and beans. We also ordered a large mac for my son and a side of lean brisket. For the wings we ordered the Cajun ranch. Our food started coming out in about 5 minutes. Firstly, I was shocked at the wings. I love wings, but they aren't something I usually order often as I find them just OK. There are only a couple places that I visit specifically for wings. Well, let me tell you, I would make a visit back just for these wings. OMG, the Cajun ranch was simply amazing, really addictive. They were my favorite item. We devoured them. The burnt ends were very good. I appreciate they are big chunks of brisket with no pull pork filler. The flavor was amazing as well and the bits of fat melted in our mouth. The corn nuggets were fine and the Mac N Cheese was quite tasty. We enjoyed the meal so much, were were trying to figure out somewhere for a family lunch the next Sunday and came back again. This time my sister, son and I brought my dad. We of course ordered more wings and burnt ends and brisket with lots of Mac N Cheese. The food really is something special. The wings are absolutely wonderful and the burnt ends are a hit. This is definitely one of my new favorite restaurants and will always be on my list of visits to enjoy when I come back to Jax.

The server mentioned they give out free bacon when the Jaguars score, which is a cool perk. I ate everything so fast I forgot to take pictures, but the touchdown bacon was awesome. I'd definitely recommend this place and will be back.

After not being seen for about 30 minutes at another restaurant, we came over here and had the complete opposite experience. It was the perfect amount and we even had a little bit left over. We go the mashed potatoes, green beans, and beans as the sides and everything was so delicious. I espescially loved the sausage and chicken. The waitress we had was kind and knowledgable. The house sauces were fantastic. Food was great. Views so beautiful. I'll be back!

We arrived from two different directions at just about the same time and slowly walked into the restaurant together. We were immediately seated inside (Florida outdoor heat at noon, ugh ...) and ordered cool drinks while perusing the menu. Everyone selected different options along with two appetizers that were shared. The dining room offered a nice view of the intercostal waterway while we were able to talk among ourselves. Our lunch meal orders arrived at a good time, nothing was being rushed as the dining room was completely filled with hungry customers. A variety of sandwiches and an order of brisket tacos were placed before us and were all thoroughly enjoyed! Coffee was ordered to top off our meal and our leisurely lunch began to wind down. Our waiter was attentive, very pleasant and always touched base with us at just the right time! This was not our first visit to Valley Smoke Restaurant and it will certainly not be our last!

The service was steady and I came in around 5ish so it didn't pick up til after I arrived. The staff were nice and polite. It was quiet but had several tables occupied. The chicken was moist and dipped with the spicy bbq enhanced the flavor. All sides were seasoned well especially the green beans and collard greens. Cornbread was good, just note it does have jalapeños. I would say the only feedback was the brisket appeared to be more lean than moist. When we ordered the moist brisket a few weeks ago, it was a lot more marbled, looser and fattier than what we received in this order which was less marbled with leaner cuts. So it appears the staff may had gave the lean than the moist cut... Other than that, everything was good, but perhaps the staff could have additional guidance in brisket cut differences.

Best BBQ in Jacksonville. Period…read more In my 6 week trip to Jax, I sought out some BBQ joints. Now, I'm no connoisseur, I am not from an elite BBQ region and I know that Jacksonville is not a BBQ go to area. But that said, I tried a few places in the region and 4 Rivers is the only spot I'd repeat visit. Service is friendly and prompt, and they were helpful with putting me on their best items. The brisket was moist, tender and flavorful. The ribs? To die for. Best I've had in Florida. The burnt ends are a combination of brisket and pork, which compliments one another nicely. I loved the beans! The corn was the only thing I found lacking, tasted too much like canned corn for my taste. Their nice seating area is big and welcoming and they have numerous sauces for you. We really enjoyed the blueberry bbq over by the fountain drinks. It went well with the ribs! Overall, must visit for Jax! Thanks guys! See you soon!

The food is outstanding, the drinks are great, and the service is always quick, friendly, and attentive. We started with the Fritos Pie and added pulled pork--such a great decision! It made an already delicious appetizer even better. For our entrée, we shared the Texas "Trinity" (the "give me all the meats" option), which comes with ribs, sausage, and brisket. The ribs were unbelievable--fall-off-the-bone tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The sausage comes in two varieties: regular and cheddar jalapeño. The cheddar jalapeño has a nice kick without being overpowering and was absolutely worth trying. On this visit, we upgraded our sides to two fresh salads, but during our first visit we had the baked beans and coleslaw, and they were both fantastic. Honestly, everything we've tried has been delicious. If you're spending the day at Neptune Beach and need a break from seafood, ABBQ is a must-visit. We've already been back twice, and it definitely won't be our last!

I keep trying to give them another chance, so when they invited me to make a reservation for the World Cup game tonight, I took the bait. I should have gone to Mojo's or Strings instead! I stopped ordering a brisket sandwich long ago because the buns were always hard and stale. Lately, I've been going with the two meat plate because the sides are usually very good, especially the potato salad and cowboy baked beans. The turkey is usually pretty good as are the ribs, but the brisket is always pathetic, especially for a guy from Texas looking for perfection. To be fair to the management, the bar and atmosphere never fails to impress me, but when I am missing good old fashioned Texas barbecue brisket, I will be going somewhere else that knows what they are doing. Come on y'all... My summary: over rated, over priced, and over done. Low and slow is the barbecue brisket mantra, but the pit master needs to go back to Texas for a refresher course in Austin, in my humble opinion!!!
