I have a very unique review to offer, having both LASIK and PRK done. I had LASIK in March of 2011. I had the basic procedure done. I was nearsighted with a pretty heavy astigmatism. The recovery was extremely fast and my vision was crisp after about one week. I had very dry eyes for about 3 months. I also had halos from street lamps, headlights, etc and in low light settings. It was something I could live with. I was just happy to have the freedom of no glasses, After about 8 months I started to notice blurriness in my distance vision. I returned to the office to be examined. The staff was very reassuring and had me visit monthly to determine if an enhancement is appropriate. We determined that it was and the procedure was scheduled for March 8. Per Dr. King's recommendation I received the Custom Wave PRK. The procedure itself was actually quicker and less painful than LASIK. I went home and slept for nearly 2 days straight, thanks to so,e painkillers and the staff's recommendation. During those two days my pain level was moderate but not excruciating. I certainly didn't want to be around light or keep my eyes open. After two days the pain was pretty much gone. I had to wear the bandage contacts for 4 days unlike LASIK which allowed me to have them off the very next day. Honestly putting up with the bandage contacts for 4 days straight was the worst part. Once they were removed my eyes felt new. Now it is April 10. My vision continues to improve. I can look at my iPad and tv screen just fine, but my computer screen is still a little tiring. I am happy to report that the halos and blurriness associated with low light are much better if not non-existent. What do I recommend? Custom PRK if you can plan your recovery time and ease back into your work and life routines. The only downside is the lengthy recovery. But did you know that the military approves PRK but not LASIK? That is because in PRK no flap is created. So that is my vote. Go custom LASIK if you choose LASIK. The Custom Vue is noticeably sharper. I little over two years ago, a colleague and friend had LASIK surgery at King LASIK and raved about the results. It was through his positive experience that I thought about doing this procedure myself. I had worn glasses or contacts for 25 years and with long working hours, often grumbling about switching from contacts to glasses, or putting up with my contacts feeling like they were glued to my eyeballs. I decided to go into King LASIK and see if I would be a good candidate for the procedure. The consultation was very thorough, the employees gracious and professional. In the end, I looked to be a great candidate. I decided that with our tax refund (thanks to my husband for his support), I chose to go for it. Any surgical procedure should be carefully thought out, so when it came time to go through with it - I was very nervous. While the actual surgery was a little uncomfortable, it was done so quickly, that tolerating the discomfort (mainly from the device that keeps the eye wide open), that as soon as I was thinking "what the hell am I doing?" - it was done and over with. It has now been two years. I see 20/20 in both eyes now, and have since shortly after the procedure. I had no pain after the surgery, no halos, no problems with night vision issues, and NO REGRETS. I did have tolerable eye dryness for a few months, but the drops were very helpful. After a few months, that went away and I have had no problems since. I used to need contacts for distant vision - my distance vision is now perfect. I do have to wear reading glasses - but, I was warned that this would definitely be a part of the procedure, but I can deal with reading glasses - as my distant vision is awesome. No more glasses late at night, no more contacts glued to my eyeballs while driving late at night or after a long day at work. Lastly, I honestly wish I would have done this at age 35 instead of at age 45 - it has been nothing but a positive experience for me. read more

Ten years ago I went to a Lasik center, a diferent one than this one, and was rejected as a good candidate due to my thin corneal layer and my astigmatism. My brother Jorge Garibay kept insisting me to try King Lasik since he had excellent results with them. I went in to a consultation and was told the my vision was off the charts and that my vision was 20/800... (My prescription for contacts was -8.5 and -7 on the other eye. Dr. King said that he wouldn't guarantee that he can give me Glasses Free results but help me eliminate the need for them, but that he will get as close to 100 percent as possible. I made a prayer and I went under the laser after all with the belief that any improvement is better than the blindness that I lived with these past 25 years. 8 and a half minutes later, I got out of the chair and was able to see my wife looking through the window without any glasses or contacts. I had PRK almost a week ago and have been very happy with Dr King and the staff at King Lasik. They answered all my question before and after surgery. I was very nervous during the procedure dr king and the girls (Lexi, Calleen and Lorena ) were very understanding and comforting. Lorena even held my hand during the procedure. Awwww. My husband had to call dr king and ask some questions which was awesome! Most doctors don't give their personal phone number to call. Believe me he really cares about his patients and wants the best outcome. Dr Travis is awesome too, very personable. He never once gave me false hope about my eyesight. I had my LASIK surgery done just over one month ago. I had been considering LASIK for a few years, but was too scared to get it done. My husband got a special at a Sportsman show, and decided he wanted to have his done, after going through the process with him, I was very pleased with the staff at King Lasik and excited to do it myself. I scheduled my pre-op, was given my options and scheduled surgery. I was scared to death, but the staff was very comforting and the procedure itself was SO quick and painless. I have worn glasses since I was 9 years old and was completely dependent on them...Immediately after surgery I could see well enough to walk next door to my hotel room, and the next morning, they removed my bandage lenses and I COULD SEE, I was seeing well enough to be cleared to drive. I have to start by saying, I was not reccomended for Lasik. I had heard that Lasik had become affordable. I found coupons on the lasik Facebook page. So, I made an appointment. I was given the most comprehensive eye evaluation I have every had and I have worn glasses since I was a child. The doctor spend a lot of time explaining everything to me and answered all of my questions. He explained why lasik would not be of great benefit to me. I was dissapointed. However, I also really appreciate that the doctor didn't do a needless surgery on me just to get a buck. He could have. He said I could get some benefit but that the risks associated with surgery would not be worth the small benefit I could gain; my eye sight being what it is. I am grateful I had a free consult with a doctor who has integrity. I would reccomend Lasik to anyone considering eye surgery. The doctor will make sure you understand the pro's and con's and give you a real consult on whether you need lasik or not. read more

I went with my wife to King Lasik to pick her up from her surgery. As I was sitting in the waiting room, Dr. King thought I was waiting to have surgery myself. I made the comment to him "no one will even look at my eye for I only have vision in one eye". Dr. King was intrigued by my answer and was questioning me why I only had vision in one eye. I explained what had happened when I was very young. Dr. King asked if I would come in and have a workup done on my one eye and let him think about the possibility of lasik surgery. I didn't figure he was really serious about it, but 2 days later as I was taking my wife back in for a checkup, his office staff asked when I wanted to come in that they had recieved word form the Dr. that his needed to be flagged so he could look at it. They explained the process step by step on the day of the procedure, which helped calm the old nerves. The actual procedure was fast and painless. Before I knew it I was home relaxing. I had PRK and I love it! My vision wasn't terrible before the PRK procedure. I mainly got it done because I hate glasses and contacts. My glasses would get slammed into my face by my kids or fog up when I walk into warm houses. My contacts always dried out and would make my eyes tired. I needed a change! I was blind as a bat. well my left eye was -10 and my right was -7 i was not doing too well for many and many years with my eyes. I couldn't deal with my contacts anymore and when ever i went out of town and forgot my contact solution i was doomed by having red eyes and a foggy vision. I went in Severly nervous. I have a Real Bad eye phobia,whether water, someone else touches it, the optometrist at my regular eye Clinic I know couldn't wait till his exam with me was done Every time I went in. My anxiety was Horrible. I went there today for Lasik got nothing but Pure Respect from The billing lady to the technitions in the room. The procedure went as explained. I have recovered well. Within a couple days my vision was as good as when I wore glasses and now my vision is better each day. Glad I did it. Great staff that makes sure you are well cared for. Doctors explained things thoroughly. Office is clean and professional. They offer a great discount on Maui Jim sunglasses too. I'm very happy with my experience with King Lasik in Kennewick. I'm glad to be without glasses, best decision. I hated the fact that I would wake up and have to feel around for my glasses .And when they where broken I couldn't see a thing from far away. All the glasses and contacts I spent thousands of dollars on couldn't fix my eye sight, it was just a bandaid . And the horrible pain and irritation I would get when something got stuck on my contacts would torture me for the rest of the day . I first talked with a repersentative from King Lasik at a indoor arena football game. It interested me so I made a appointment to go in and see what they could do for me. Every time I talked with anyone with the office they treated me like a delicate flower, making sure I was confortable with the answers. I opted to go ahead and have PRK surgery for my eyes. Dr .
