They set everything up quickly and explained the system (I highly recommend the King package - you don't have to pump the keg! Overcharged me over $8 for a pack of seltzers. When I questioned the price, he assured me he had given me a deal. I expect to be up charged a little at a liquor store but 33% markup is criminal. He knew it and then lied to justifying the price. Buyer beware. read more

The Baseline: For a liquor store it must have a wide selection of beers/wine/spirits, the selections must be varied, the store aisles need to be clean/organized, the traffic flow must be logical, the prices must reflect the value, and the service from staff must be good. Selection: King Keg has a great selection of alcohols and anything not available can be ordered. I found selections of new beers when I came in on July 4th. I have not patronized this shop. But I wanted to share my experience today with parking in front of this business. My wife and I had a trip to the Westfield - Century City. We were on our way back south. Got into a very congested traffic and my foot was hurting because of the excessively repeated motion given the stop-and-go traffic. We got off freeway and drove into the closest plaza with an empty parking spot and was hoping to swap between me and wife. This car with a lady that is parked right next to us was yelling to my wife and said with vengeance of why your husband parked next to her car. My wife didn't have enough space to open the door. I then went back into the car and back out immediately and parked elsewhere. Later when we walked by the front of the shop. The shop owner told us that he told the lady parked in front of her shop that she did the wrong thing. I did not expect such a gesture by the shop owner. My wife was bullied verbally for no reason. Don't ever rent or buy anything from this establishment. Charged me $630 for two days of use for two jockey boxes + CO2. Everything we rented was dirty and the boxes had broken handles, and duct tape on the drains which leaked. We couldn't use one because it was leaking all over our table. Wouldn't offer any sort of refund or discount. He yelled at me and cut me off mid sentence, walked inside saying he couldn't help me. The worst customer service I've ever experienced. read more

This place is a SCAM!!! I purchased a coffee keg for my wedding and they didn't inform me that I also had to buy nitrogen (wtf!) and a keg dispenser. My husband and I don't drink alcohol, so we were super excited about a coffee keg. No coffee on our big day. We called them a few days after the wedding and got the run around. Told us they would call us back and nothing. Just got off our final phone call and they said there is nothing they can do. So we just wasted $160 and not even a sorry. Super rude! Best place to buy your kegs!!!! I purchased my kegs for my wedding and they really helped me out and advise me of what to get, I wanted different kinds of beer and they suggested the best beer (affordable prices) and the system (jockey box) was the best thing ever. 2 thumbs up for King Keg! We ordered kegs of 2 flavors of Kombucha for an event nearby in Torrance and were very pleased with the options and service (which included delivery, set up and pick up!) They had a few different brands of Kombucha available and many flavors of each. We even got to sample a few when we went to the store (seated comfortably in the accompanying restaurant next door!) Both the owner, Tariq, and his assistant, Sophie, were very helpful over the phone as well as in person. They explained things a few different times for me to understand how kegs work and what the serving options were. Tariq offered us a nice upgrade from a jockey box to a kegerator which looked great at the event! (see pictures below) The delivery was very much appreciated and since we were close by, one of the keg techs come by to adjust the pressure when there was too much foam coming out. Long story short, we will definitely seek out King Keg next time we need a tall order of Kombucha, cold brew coffee or, of course, beer! (They looked like a very well stocked liquor store as well.) Last Saturday I was in a bind and needed a place with a good selection of alcohol so I stopped in looking for a couple of bottles to take to a friends party... Just booked King Keg for my wedding in August. Although our venue offered an open bar with hard liquor, it didn't have any beer - which is necessary according to my fiance. Through Google I've found only found 2 companies in LA that does keg delivery/set-up/pick-ups. We've contacted both companies but have had great communication from Tariq right away.. which is why my fiancé and I decided to go through with doing business with King Keg as opposed to the other company. I called, got an answer - and an invoice emailed to me all within one hour. They provide extra ice and cups as needed too for a reasonable price. The beer is a bit on the pricey side however I feel like it is completely worth it for their entire service as a whole (we really didn't want to ask anyone to go pick up a keg for us on our wedding day). 5 stars as of now just for their prompt reply and service. My relationship with King Keg began when I learned that they were the main distributor of kombucha-on-tap kegs in LA. I was planning my wedding and I wanted to supply kombucha to my guests, so I reached out and spoke with the owner Tariq on the phone. He was very confident he could help & guaranteed that they could handle all of my needs. I didn't think I needed anything beyond kombucha, but I made the easy trip to Hawthorne to meet Tariq and discuss more. I had planned to simply make a quick visit and sign some contracts, but what I received was above and beyond my imagination. I ended up hanging with Tariq for nearly 3 hours, talking all about our wedding logistics (many of which I had overlooked but he made sure I should be aware of), sampling all the different kombuchas that they carried, and just discussing life in general. He offered me chai from his Tandoori restaurant next door, as well as a small meal to-go. By the time this very enjoyable visit was over, I'd not only decided to use King Keg for the Kombucha but also for the kegs of beer to supply our wedding party. I felt that all the prices were incredibly fair for the service they were offering. As our wedding date approached, I learned that our venue was notoriously tricky to deal with when it came to delivery & pickup times and they only gave King Keg short windows with which to drop off kegerators and pick them up. This was over 4th of July weekend, where there were numerous events, far larger than my own, that Tariq was servicing. Nonetheless, he went out of his way to ensure that all the beverages were set up and broken down on time, everything remaining at optimal temperature throughout the day. Our event was spectacular and the team that provided delivery and pickup couldn't have been more prompt and professional. They even brought me an additional tap so that I could keep the leftover kegs of kombucha as there was plenty that our guests didn't drink. I returned the empty keg a few weeks later with no issues or complaints whatsoever. In all my discussions with Tariq, I learned that he and his team take great pride in ensuring that their service goes off without a hitch. He is incredibly busy as his phone rings at least once a minute with incoming texts or calls, but he works long hours and slaves over the success of his operation. Sure there were times where it took a little while for him to get back to me, but I could always trust that he was working hard behind-the-scenes. And this review is not only about Tariq, but his entire team who works incredibly efficiently to handle tons of events across all of LA every day. Maybe I shouldve looked for "Tariq". Judging by the previous reviews, he must be the key to the apparent awesomeness to this store. From the freeway, this place seems like your typical run-of-the-mill trashy liquor store. Go into the plaza and pull up next to the yellow hummer, you'll see how wrong my first preconceived notions were. Its nice. Very nice. Next to a kabob lace that i'd like to visit sometime. The store is clean, seems very well stocked and organized with high-end liquors (they have Laphroaig! no liquor store or even bevmo near me had it!) and beers and such. Its very classy looking for a liquor store, like one of my favorite liquor stores in newport beach. Too bad that as i walked in, there was about 4 little girls and a guy who looked way too young to be selling liquor, busily playing a computer game behind and next to the counter. How delightfully unprofessional. Ok, im not trying to be a bitch about that, but you feel like such a degenerate trying to buy cigarettes and liquor and lotto tickets in the midsts of kids. What made it worse is that they all seemed to glare at me as i walked in, like i was interrupting their game. The young guy behind the counter continued to ignore me as i stood there and after a few minutes of standing, he finally gets up to help me. I hand him my purchases and the entire process is made painful because he's moving exceptionally slow and has a look on his face that screams, "ughhh, why must you bother me?" Here's the reason i decided to write this review...I was recovering from laryngitis and my voice was still deep and raspy. He asks coldly if i want anything else, i say ,"no" and he hands me back my stuff sarcastically saying, "here you go sir" then smirks and then lethargically corrects himself,"i mean, madam". I raise an eyebrow at him, he just looks at me, dead behind the eyes and helps the next customer. He was just dull and sarcastic and treated me like some bullshit hassle. That really grinds my gears when service is not only bad, its mildly insulting. Ok, I can be accused of being petty and i accept that, but it was just one of those things where you think to yourself, i can just let that snot-nosed punk get away with that. There didnt seem to be any other higher authority present so i couldnt complain, so this blurb on yelp will have to do. This place would probably be great if there was an (or more) adults present. For a strip mall liquor store, this place is top notch. Into a fairly small space, they've really thought through their merchandising. I find it annoying when a small store has 80 12 packs of Bud in the cooler and their 'exotic import' is Sierra Nevada. Not so at the King. Also a pleasant surprise was the wine selection which included some higher end wine (Cakebread, Silver Oak) at prices that are competitive to Von's. Regardless, this place carries great amounts of rare beer and liquor. Their selections are huge! If you prefer wine, they also have a large wine selection. They also have a keg service. You can order whatever beer and have it delivered straight to your party. One thing tho, it is PRICEY! everything is over-priced. So if you just want a 12 pack of bud-light or corona (something common) just go to the gas station across the street. Save a buck, burn a couple calories. Was put on hold and then told that actually the price is all of a sudden $600 higher. King Keg's service was fantastic and the prices were very reasonable. The highest recommendation I can give is I'll send all of my friends to them. Since 1998 BevMo had been my store of choice all things alcoholic. Not anymore, King Keg is now my store of choice! I found King Keg while looking for a kegerator to give my best friend as retirement gift after 40 plus years of service, sure beats a watch. Tariq gave the absolute best service and prices. He helped us find the best price on a very good dual tap kegerator and provided guidance how to get the best upgrade parts for it. I was able to save a couple of hundred dollars with his help. When it came time to setup the unit Tariq was able to help me out at the last minute with only a days notice. I wouldn't expect this level of flexibility every time but it's great to know Tariq will work with you if he can even up to North Hollywood. Skip did the setup and I would recommend him to my friends. He brought the kegs on ice, Fat Tire and Sierra Nevada, which made for a fast inauguration of the kegerator. When the kegs run dry, probably within the week, King Keg will be called to replenish this dispenser of golden nectar. Thanks Tariq and Skip!
