Large Shrimp with French Fries Platter

Quick food and cheap! If I lived near I would eat there often. I like how they season the shrimp as well.

This place is amazing. The fish is always fresh, I mean it has to be since it's a fish store. Anyways everytime I get my order it's great. The steamed fish, shrimp and the mixed vegetables is excellent. The flavor is great. The portions are big and the owner is very nice and friendly. I usually call ahead of time since it takes time to make. All in all this place is perfect if you want some seafood right away.

It tastes like mayonaise now, and that broke my heart. I just want the good food spots in the Bronx to remain that way. The food is definitely not as good as it used to be.

I go all out when I come here becuase it's fast seafood at it's best, steamed, raw or fried. You order at the counter for things you want, so plan your order with friends so you can get what you want all at once. Send one to get the fried's, one to get the steamed, raw, etc. It looks like any seasonal shack on the eastern seaboard, but just a tad busier and a tad nicer. Service is good becuase it's far enough away from the NYC grind that people aint tryna bring that vibe. They're trying to have a different experience. It's got great views. Cash only of course. Seating is cafeteria style. I usually have to go for a walk afterwards to help digest everything. Prices are high if you indulge or come with your whole family, but it's kinda in line if your tryna splurge and go big. My usual order is steamed snow crab legs, fried calamari, fried clam strips, steamed cherry's and little necks (or raw if it's daytime or late summer) and a steamed whole snapper if I'm with more than 1 person. It's a feast, but worth a gout attack. It's fresh seafood that's well prepared and simple. You can't go wrong on the cocktail sauces, butter, lemon on most items.

I remember when Fish N' Ting first opened several years ago and I'm pleased to know that this family run establishment is still kicking. I would put it in my top five list for Jamaican restaurants in the city. The menu is wide and varying and accommodating of different diets. If you love jerk chicken, you need to try it here! The jerk chicken lovers in my life can't get enough. My recommended dishes are the whiting (fried) with rice and peas, rasta pasta and now the lobster (which I didn't know they had). The seafood is made to order, fresh and super tasty. I never thought sweet chili and lobster would be a good combo but it totally rocks! It was truly delectable. My only issue is that they charge for gravy if the dish isn't saucy (as if) lol but I get it!

My order took about 25 minutes, but the escovitch snapper was clearly made fresh. The rice and peas with steamed cabbage were flavorful and delicious. The fish had a nice spice, but the escovitch dressing was missing that signature tang--didn't taste like it had any vinegar, which was a little disappointing. Not the best escovitch I've had, but still satisfying overall.

There were like five other customers placing orders. However from time of placing order and receiving food was not even a good 10 minutes. Staff was quick and friendly. I had the surf and turf box. 3 pieces of fried fish, 3 chicken tenders, 3 jumbo shrimp with fries. That was $20. I also had a slice of pineapple upside down cake. The fish was very nice sized portions. The chicken tenders where a little skimpy. The looked like when your mother say we have chicken tenders at home. BUT to make up for the skimpiness they tasted like your mother made them at home. The shrimp were a nice size. The cake take like a well made box cake. By no means am I complaining. I enjoyed the food. The box I got was big and shareable. It easily feeds 2 people. The food was hot and made in clean oil. I certainly will be going back. But next time I simply want the school street sandwich. I would say if you will not be eating immediately in your car or live extremely close by you need to open your bag and crack open the box if not you risk your food being soggy.

When inside it's just a counter for take out and there is a restaurant further in. I went to the counter and ordered the crab legs, Henny mac & cheese, and calamari. The total came to about $80, which felt steep for takeout. The crab legs were good in flavor, but the meat was really hard to get out, every time I cracked one, the meat broke apart inside, so I spent most of the meal digging. The seasoning was great though, and the corn and potatoes soaked it up nicely. The Henny mac was a big miss for me. It had almost no flavor, and whatever flavor was there definitely wasn't Hennessy. Really disappointing. The calamari was also dry and bland. Honestly, the food looked way better than it tasted, and I'm not sure if it was just an off day, but neither side hit. I also don't understand why dining-in prices are higher than takeout. I would've preferred to eat inside, but it didn't make sense to pay more. The prices to eat inside are higher than to order at the counter which I've never seen or heard of doing that before. And since there's nowhere set up outside to eat takeout, unless you live nearby or want to pay extra to sit inside, I'm not sure what the point is. Overall, the experience didn't match the hype for me. Hoping it was just an off day, but I wasn't impressed.
