Nice enough Famous Footwear storefront in Tomball Marketplace…read more I guess I haven't been to a Famous Footwear in awhile, but the inventory is about 80% athletic shoes and 20% dress--not what I remember. I've shopped Famous Footwear since the early 1980s, but it's been a few years. I wanted a new pair of dress shoes for a wedding that evening, so Air Jordan's weren't on the menu. Their selection in dress was limited, especially in wide width and sizes above 10. With assistance, I found a pair that I liked that came oh so close, but they were too long. They were also reboxed in a generic Famous Footwear box, and showed signs of break-in (but not wear). They also weren't discounted for not being brand-spanking new. The very helpful sales assistant--who seemed to be running the store by herself--offered to check other stores or order the shoes, but my time was too limited for those heroics. They're A-OK--that is, if you have the time to wait for shoes in your size. I didn't, so I went away empty-handed, but not truly disappointed.

Very poor customer service…read more It is understandable if there is inclement weather or a sickness within the limited amount of staff however when the MANAGER shows up FOUR hours late and have customers + a FedEx delivery waiting on her that's just about ridiculous. Not only did she miss the shipment but whenever she finally arrived instead of informing customers that the location was closed she brought her son into The store, lock the doors and had us outside knocking for several minutes to get her response from the inside. If you have the spare time to choose another location do so because this treatment is disgusting and a waste of time.

Buyer beware. Bad quality clothing and poor customer service is not a good combination. I…read morepurchased an $82 blouse on Saturday late afternoon. Less than 24 hours later I cut the tags off to wear it and there was a flaw in the fabric. I immediately called the store and was told they would exchange it. They asked me to send a picture to the owner. The owner emailed me and said since the tags were off she could only give me half off and not exchange for one that wasn't flawed. I explained that I had never worn it and I had literally had it for less than 24 hours. It didn't matter. She would not exchange it. So I got back half the price AND had to find someone to repair it and pay for that myself. Why was this my problem to repair when clearly the fabric was faulty?
