The black pepper beef short ribs are my favorite. I also like their house lo mein. It's all so good. I'll keep ordering from here every time I'm in Pensacola. When I have time, I'll try to make it to the physical restaurant.

First off, I'm grateful Pensacola has Xian Noodle Place. There clearly aren't that many options here when it comes to authentic Chinese food (I was trying hard to find a place when I landed at the airport). When I walked in, the service was friendly and seating was immediate. There is a bar area and there is a large seating area. Trendy remixes of Chinese pop hits from years past were being played. This all is super cool. As people know from my past reviews, beef noodle soup is a big factor in my judging. And I saw beef noodle soup options on the menu here and asked about them, because I want to make sure I'm getting what I'm wanting here. I'll give credit to the server - she was completely honest that the flavoring of the beef noodle soup wasn't the hearty richly-seasoned version known in Taiwanese circles. So I ordered the roast duck noodle soup and soup dumplings instead. The roast duck noodle soup is absolutely solid. It does the trick. The broth is a basic chicken broth, noodles are fine, and the duck is plentiful, as one would expect. Good garnish, it's tasty and does the trick. The soup dumplings, I would say, are perhaps not what you would get at an establishment that makes their own. Again, it's tasty and does the trick, but likely about the same as if you went to your local Chinese supermarket and bought the soup dumplings from the frozen section and then prepped it at home. Total price after taxes and standard tip? Over $30. One person, one normally-sized bowl of duck soup noodles and five soup dumplings with sauce. I know Miami is extremely pricey for food, so perhaps this is a Florida thing, but $30 is a bit exorbitant for food that does the trick but isn't quite spectacular. Again, I'm sure there are other options here that are tasty, but considering the different factors, when comparing to others in the game beyond Pensacola, the bottom line is I'd say Xian Noodle Place is solid but not spectacular, and also fairly pricey for the level of food served.

I went specifically looking for authentic Korean food. Having experienced Bulgogi while serving in Korea, it quickly became one of my favorite dishes. Most chain restaurants do not do the dish particularly well, so I decided to give Kalbi Ichiban's version a try. My waiter, **Carson**, was attentive, friendly, and provided excellent service throughout the meal. He checked on me regularly without being intrusive and made the overall experience even better. Carson receives five stars from me. The meal came with Bulgogi, rice, and a choice of soup or salad. I selected fried rice and started with the hot and sour soup. I also ordered a side of kimchi because, in my opinion, a Korean meal is not complete without it. The hot and sour soup was excellent. It had great flavor, was well prepared, and was easily one of the highlights of the meal. The fried rice was good, although nothing about it particularly stood out. The Bulgogi was tender and very flavorful, but it was wetter than traditional Bulgogi. The kimchi was also very good and added the right touch to the meal. Interestingly, the hot and sour soup was spicier than the kimchi. However, different regions of Korea prepare kimchi in different ways, so the level of heat and flavor can vary considerably. Overall, I was pleased with the meal and would rate the food **8.5 out of 10**. After adding a couple of cocktails, I was also pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the final bill was. I would rate the restaurant **two dollar signs out of five for price**, making it a good value for the quality of the food, service, and atmosphere. Kalbi Ichiban may not serve Bulgogi exactly as I remember it from Korea, but it delivered a flavorful and satisfying meal. Tonight we took Exit 5 to the Hell that is King Buffet. Oh, Silly Self! When will you ever learn that Chinese buffets are sent from abroad to slowly but surely take over the world by fronting coronary artery disease as a bargain, disguised as 200 awful 'entrees'? How many dollah will you lose on this Chinese Roulette Game? How many all nighters on the potty? Be warned! These things are a carefully executed offensive! They are a quiet, undiscovered surgical strike to our nation - how else would thousands of Chinese restaurants all over the country have the exact same menus?! They are are answering to our McDonald's and Burger Kings with a vengeance! In our region, King Buffet is leading the strategy with a most diabolical and militant cuisine. Not to be satisfied with dosing biological warfare through stomach cramps, they add a hefty front line of staff armed with traditional weaponry -the "long bo staffs" operating as mops which fling toxic water to and fro at will during your meal. Should you decide to have a converstation, be prepared to interrupted by an unsmiling soldier who will demand you to work while camped there: you will have to hand over the soy sauce to be switched out. You will later be stopped, and forced to hand over salt and pepper shakers for for the same reason. Most amazing Hibachi I've ever experienced at a buffet: They cooked me 8oz steaks, medium rare. STEAKS! The Sushi is made fresh and is excellent. Best taste at a buffet(a buffet not based on Japanese food) Seafood options weren't the most extensive I've seen, but the oysters were huge and the crab was tasty. All the standard Chinese dishes are there: General Tao's Chicken + Lo Mien + S&S Chicken + egg drop soup etc. and they all tasted great. The decor is OFF THE CHAIN!!! A rock fountain floods across the wall as you enter. Inside shining pillars of bubbly glass everywhere, 2 huge beautiful fish tanks to block the view of the buffet from the front desk, and the buffet itself is a clean good smelling environment. read more

This is one of my favorite Chinese buffets around Pensacola. For the price the food is pretty good. I can't say anything about the service because I haven't eaten their buffet in years, I go inside and fill up a take-out plate and pay by weight. I usually pay $6-8 for a full dinner. The sushi is average. I'm not a giant sushi fan but I can tell when something is fresh and when something was rolled this morning and has just been sitting out for a few hours. The food was excellent for a buffet. The Mongolian grill part did not allow me to pick my own sauces but the sauces he put on were spot on. Tried many items from the bar and enjoyed almost all of them. Our server was perfectly attentive, drinks were filled the whole time, and the dirty plates disappeared as soon as we pushed them away. For a Chinese buffet, I expected a much wider variety of Chinese dishes. Instead, almost an entire section was American food, with only one main area dedicated to traditional Chinese options. There was a small "salad bar" (if you can call it that), a couple of soups, and a freezer with ice cream. Some desserts were mixed into the salad bar area. They also had sushi, but it was mostly fried rolls covered in heavy sauces. As someone who loves sushi and has tried over 100 restaurants, this was well below average. As for the food: * The chicken and broccoli lacked flavor * The "sizzling chicken" and other dishes tasted off, almost like the meat wasn't real or was mislabeled * The General Tso's chicken was mostly breading, barely any actual chicken (I even have a photo for proof) * The raw shrimp was not cleaned properly and still had visible waste, which was honestly unacceptable * Not much in the spring rolls Overall, the food quality was poor and didn't taste good. I left with a stomach ache and not because I overate. I visited on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch, and based on this experience, I would not return.

I had visited their website an hour before I went, to check their prices. They have Kung Pao Chicken listed for $7.95 on their website. The Shrimp Fried Rice lists for $6.50. Mongolian Beef lists for $7.95. Sweet & Sour Chicken lists for $4.95. These are NOT lunch specials. Egg rolls list for $2.50 per order. Beef Lo Mein lists for $4.95 on their website. But when I got to the actual restaurant, everything was $11 to $12. They deceive their customers, luring you in with false prices, and then gouge you when you get there! That is very unethical and shady. I purchased the following items: 2 orders egg rolls 1 Mongolian Beef 1 Kung Paul Chicken 1 Beef Lo Mein 1 Sweet & Sour Chicken 1 Shrimp Fried Rice I had told the woman at the cash register that I wanted "small" for the Mongolian beef, but she gave me large anyway. Then again I said "small" for the Kung Pao Chicken, but she said it only comes in large. I did order a large Shrimp Friend Rice, but that was the only item I wanted to be large size. She maxed everything out to charge me the maximum price. That insult, on top of the shameful fact that they lied big time about their prices on their website--it couldn't be more obvious that they are greedy and took advantage of me financially as a new customer. I waited for about 20 minutes in the waiting area by the front door for my order to go. I was born in 1967 in Chicago and lived there for 37 years, so I know great food. That's what we call it. Their food is leaps & bounds above everyone else's. We travel World wide & nothing compares to Chef King the Red Dragon. We love all the dishes but our most faves are the Shrimp & the House special Egg foo young & House special lo mein. The gravy for the egg foo young is very lemony. It's Superb. The best gravy of all the egg foo young I have ever had & the egg pancakes are thick & filled with shrimp, chikin, beef, pork, veggies ohhhhhhhh so delicious. Especially with their perfect white rice. :)... The lo mein is also EVERYONES fave! We like to serve it with an egg & chilies on top. We are fancy like that. They put tons of PROTEIN in theirs, with tiny carrots & very little cabbage. It's never wet, it's always filled with proteins & just the right amount of veggies. Superb. Another fave is the salt & pepper shrimp. It's a very light dish filled with shrimp, peppers & onions in a light savory sauce. Excellent. The General Tso's shrimp "spicy" is the BOMB! No one else makes it like they do. They make it with GIANT shrimp in a spicy/tangy sauce with broccoli. Superb. The sweet & sour pork is hubby's jam. He swears by her pink sauce, the "sweet & sour sauce." No one makes it like she does. Hers has tiny pineapple chunks in it. I'm not into the sweet & sour sauce like hubby is, but I do like the fried pork chunks. haha. I just eat those like doughnuts :)... We also LOVE her shrimp toast! My goodness hers need some kind of an award or something. The shrimp toast here are the largest I have ever had, rich, full of herbs & tons of flavor. Sublime. And the little crab rangoon are super delicious. We like to eat those for brekkie with coffee. Little cream cheese filled one bite doughnuts get in me belly little love bubbles. Yum Yum Yum :)... We ordered take out I ordered the chicken and broccoli. The food barely covered the bottom of the…read moretakeout container and it had 2 very small pieces of broccoli I the whole dish. My daughter ordered a chicken dish also and got 3 pieces of chicken! I'm wondering if they do this on a takeout order and give you the portion you should have if you dine in. Regardless the bill was 70.00 plus I gave a 10.00 tip. The price they charge doesn't match the portion size we were very disappointed and live close by and will not eat there again.
