This used to be my favorite Chinese buffet but lately it has been leaving a bad taste,not because of the food but because of the employees! They dont refill your glass unless you ask them to do so,they dont speak to you unless you are a child under the age of one ! And during recent visits they clean the dirty plates from the table and then demand THEY take your payment to the counter, I understand that if you dine and dash, they (servers) have to pay for your meal,but not all of us are that rotten and DO NOT deserve to be stared at and then followed to the front of the restaurant like we are going to run with out paying! I DO NOT give my card to ANYONE that will be taking my card out of my line of vision!! This has happened the last 3 times my family has eaten there tonight being the most recent and I think tonight will be my last visit! read more

The staff was ok the food was ok. We went there with a 10 year old and they took her height and told us they have to charge her as an adult because shes not under 5 feet? Never heard of this rule, and we be here on more than one occasion. Will NOT be back there, because they were rude when we offered them proof she was 10 (which we never had to do smh). When everyone else came in there with their children, they didn't take their height, what kind of mess is that. If you have a tall 10 year old don't eat there, you're better off going to another buffet. Then the chicken and fish we had was old, what in the world? I told them this and the guy said so, then walked off smh.. I'm not quite getting the poor reviews of this place. Maybe people are expecting gourmet from a buffet? Anyways, as far as Chinese buffets go and Pensacola go, this one if the best one in my opinion for more than one reason. I normally go with friends during lunch hour and everything is really fresh. Their sushi is even palatable ( they make a sort of rainbow roll with pickled daikon in it that is actually pretty darned good ) and some might consider me a sushi snob. The restaurant is also really clean, and well updated, especially as far as sushi restaurants go, and especially as far as anything on Nine Mile Rd goes. I mean, seriously?! I don't understand price either, maybe at dinner? Lunch is more than reasonable. It's about the cheapest place. There's restaurants in Milton and PACE, Fl that charge more money for their buffet, and these are stupid, ramshackle places with little to no selection. The Thai chicken is really nice at King Buffet, as is their Mei Fun ( my favorite, and thankfully one typically GF noodle dish I can have ). Service is good and prompt, they keep up with refilling our glasses when we need them. Quick at processing payments as well, too. That said, my one complaint is that I really wish they would get sugar peanuts on their buffet. I love those things, unfortunately. That also said, I live far closer to Chow Time, but I do really prefer this buffet and will make the extra trip. . . Servers complain about tips customers leave for them. If they expect to get 15-20% tip they need to think again. All they did was get rid of plates, they try to take plates away when you are not even done eating. Never got any refills on our drinks. Servers aren't serving food so I tip l less at buffets. Servers seems as if they were not happy to be there, tossing straws down at the table. Food selection was just ok. Taste of food could be better. This is the last time coming here ever. Taking our business elsewhere. This place ONLY cares about revenue and NOT customers or quality. read more

My family and I used to come here all the time, but our last visit was exactly that- our last. This place used to be really great. Now, their food has really gone down in quality and flavor. The only thing I enjoyed was the hibachi bar and the ice cream. Everything else, I could only eat 1-2 bites, and I'd be sick of it. The service is good, but it is overpriced for the quality of food. I grew up on King buffet at a young age and quality was extremely admirable back then. But in 2017, the package of the restaurant as a whole was ok at best. All the food was kinda sweet and service was just there. The waiter was trash talking me at some points. Service here is famously not great. However the hibachi was the high point of this restaurant, as food came out fast and fresh. However, the price of 12.50 a person did not make the experience any better. read more

I will never go back. Over priced for soggy, over cooked, OLD food. It was so horrible that there was more food in my napkin than in my stomach. The food had to have been sitting there for a long while, as it was dried out by the lamps. Never again will I make this mistake. When I said something, all I got was a poor girl trying to defend a product that she even said wasn't that great! Ended up paying for the food anyways, even though all they did was make it so I wouldn't want to eat for the rest of the day--after eaten almost nothing. Here is the deal, am I really sure what the food I am eating is? No, but come on, do I really expect more? Pretty good selection. Hibachi grill is always done perfectly. Sushi could use some creativity and a couple of times I got a spoiled taste but no ill effects. I just wish all their entrees were as good as their Hot and Sour soup -- the best we've found in the area. read more

Ok, so I'm not a picky eater,however....... They had a nice variety of items. The food was warm...including the sushi :-( waitress was nice enough to let me know when the crab legs were up. Good Chinese buffet although the Sushi Chief was rude and no happy to be working behind the counter. It was 11:30 the place was open for a 1/2 hr. Horrible experience! !! The host seemed to have disappeared maybe it was because we were seated next to the loudest miserable group of people that should have been kicked out seeing how they loudly kept saying they were going to walk out without paying the worst part of my visit by far was the plastic in my grilled spinach the host gave 5.00 off but my meal should have been free seeing how i asked where the plastic came from and they could not answer !!!!!!!! This restaurant had everything you could think of on the buffet and they even had a chef who would cook for you. From sushi to frog legs there were at least six different bars to choose from. We would definitely go back there. read more

They have hibachi, seafood, Chinese food, and desert all for the same price as regular buffets at home! $11.99 for adults on Saturday and Sunday's and children under 10 have different prices, depending on their ages. The King Buffet has an enormous selection of food, clearly providing something for everyone. The sushi is mediocre, but not terrible. The place is clean, but way too crowded. In fact, if I had to pick one thing about this restaurant that would make me think twice about coming back, it would be the crowd. One starts to feel like a cow moving along with the rest of the herd. Rude Employees - NOT Recommended Yesterday was the second time I was there and my experience was exactly the same as the first, BAD. The food was OK but there were many items that were either very low or near to completely out. But the real issue is this, each time either of us we went to the sushi bar to get food the person behind the counter would make rude comments and repeatedly repeat "Thank you" in a condescending manner because we didn't tip him. Money is dirty and I tip at the end, when deserved. Not because someone is basically rudely demanding it. When I spoke with the person who claimed to be in charge he seemed not to care. I even obtained the number of the owner who when I spoke with him was barely coherent when I finally got him on the phone. He didn't seem to care either. Such a wonderful buffet to eat at. The service there was very friendly when I went. I and my family went there for a special occasion. We had a great time. The food tasted so good. My favorites are their chicken wings and fried rice. Large selection of foods to choose from. This really is a place for Kings and Queens to feast. read more

We didn't realize how quick it would be they let us check in under the lunch special, we were able to eat once before, everything was marked for dinner customers only. New to area and wanted to try a chinese buffet. This place was a big disappointment! The staff was attentive, but the food was not good. The flavor of the crab rangoons weren't bad, but the ends were overcooked and tough. Also, the egg rolls weren't bad. But...everything else was bland and nasty. Went for dinner and for two buffets and 2 drinks it was over $27, and it definitely wasn't worth it. We will not be going back to this place again. read more

We normally get good service and enjoy our visit, however yesterday was a disaster. Had to go looking for tea on two occasions and no one acted like they spoke English. They have a sushi chef stationed at the sushi area that does nothing... I asked him to make some sushi using the pouches which was at his station and not in refrigeration and he refused stating it was for dinner only. Well folks it was 5 hours to dinner so if it wasn't available for lunch, what was it doing out of refrigeration at his work station. In short, they were rude as hell and did not seem to care about the customers at all. They had a kid about 13 running the register and since it was Saturday I doubt any proponents of child labor laws will be aware of this. read more

Buffet - The food tasted freezer burnt and the shrimp and crawfish were both rotten. Because of the terrible food when I confronted the waitress and manager about the terrible food and asked for a price reduction for this reason both were very rude and refused to take any money off of the bill. They have a lot of food, typical Americanized Chinese stuff -- lots of sugary sweet foods, soy sauce based dishes, and fried seafood. The crab legs are skimpy and slim, and the clams are just nasty looking (but living in Pensacola has made me a bit of a seafood snob -- I prepare my own straight from Joe Patti's). They have a sushi area that's nice, a Mongolian style grill area where your meal is made for you (not very well but they're okay -- the noodles are too tough and not cooked long enough)... the food isn't that bad overall, but it's not something you'd brag about either. With that said, the price for all of this food is insane. We went there last night and for my husband and I -- both of us drinking water -- and our 4 kids ages 3, 5, 7, and 10 the price was over $50. The wait staff are nice enough, but the sushi chef and grill chef have huge tip jars and stare you down like if you're not leaving a tip you better not take too much. I'm expected to pay for the buffet AND tip? I tip my waiter -- that's expected, but now I have to tip the cooks too?!? The icing on the cake is that when we were entering and leaving the building there were PROSTITUTES BY THE FRONT DOOR, and these gals weren't looking like Julia Roberts either. Picture someone's fat, 60 something year old granny with bright blonde hair and a ton of makeup, inch and a half long Lee Stick On Nails and your standard 70's prostitute getup from Party City, and you've got your girls! The crazy part was they looked like business was hoppin'! They had a skunky looking guy coming up to talk to them. One things for sure, it was something to talk about... Do yourself a favor: If you want good quality, well made asian food go to a place like Fuji Sushi on Davis -- the price will be the same, the atmosphere is lovely, you'll only have to tip the waiter, and for a family of my size you get your own room. But best of all: the food at Fuji is perfection. So good, and probably about 100 times healthier too. read more

Not very good. The food they have on their buffet seems random and you can never really tell if your favorite will be there that day. Some of the workers here are very rude. I had a girl stand next to my table for 5-10 minutes and just stare at me while my boyfriend paid (I wasnt done eating the last bit on my plate). Also once my dad came here with his friend from work for lunch, she went to go pay and he stepped outside to have a smoke, one of the older ladies ran out going "You no pay! You no pay!", he tried to explain to her that his friend is inside paying and she kept yelling "Liar!". Eventually his friend did come out and the lady didn't even apologize when they explained it to her and just went back inside.
