This was pretty good take out chinese food. Boneless spare ribs were very tasty, though a bit on the pricey side, it was a generous portion though. My food and or experience would have to be a total disaster to deserve a single star. That was not what I experienced. I had a craving for some fried rice. I actually used Yelp to find what was close by. Yes, I read both sides of the reviews but decided to try this place because it averaged 3 stars. I got a large order of fried rice with beef and a couple egg rolls to go (no dine in option as pandemic protocols are still in place). I immediately noticed an unusual smell from my order. Not a bad smell...just different and unusual. Upon getting to my place, I started with an egg roll. Kinda small but right for the price. However, it really lacked any flavor even with trying it with their hot sauce, mustard, and soy sauce. Soy sauce along will usually save the most bland Chinese food...but not in this case. Moving onto the fried rice, I immediately noticed they cooked it with either white or yellow onions. Good fried rice is always made with green onions. Regardless, the rice had virtual no flavor. Now the beef had some flavor, but not very much. Again, I tried adding some soy sauce to the rice...no help. For me, the taste and quality of fried rice and egg rolls are strong indicators of how other menu items will probably taste. Based on my food, I can not recommend this place. read more

We have been coming to Chen's since our children were little. They are around the same age as their boys. Imagine my surprise when I pulled this up last night for the menu and saw the rating! I would have thought it was much higher!!! Our order is always right, the food is consistently very good, and the price is reasonable! We do not eat there because it is more a pickup spot but order early enough to enjoy it when we get home. I love the beef pepper steak, my kids like honey garlic chicken and orange chicken, and my husband gets chicken with mixed vegetables. He loved the beef and mixed vegetable combo but, due to gout, he changed to chicken which he loves just as much. Just recently I tried the chicken lo mein due to needing to eat softer foods and it is my new favorite! I can't believe in all of these years I had never tried their noodles!!! I have been missing out!!! In my opinion they are the best noodles around!!! I didn't eat a lot of chicken in it because of my mouth problem but it is good, as well. Not bad for Pensacola. Lo Mein here used to be bad and given out in the rectangular plastic containers but now they give it in the white large box containers which is MUCH better. Love getting a large pork lo mein from here. General Tso chicken is pretty good. Singapore rice noodles are ok. A little too much spice flavor and not enough savory. read more

This is one of our favorite local spots for Chinese food. The food is always freshly made and tastes delicious. Their chicken curry, general tso chicken, egg drop & wonton soups, and their boneless BBQ Spareribs are our go-tos! They make very good egg rolls and crab rangoon as well. Call ahead to have your food ready when you arrive... or be patient if you order in person, because they make things to order (well worth the wait)... no steam tables at this place! In their defense...the old prices were a bit cheaper than what you would have expected. We ordered the following items: *small curry chicken. Well done, tasty, plenty of food. Spicy, but marked as such and that's what I expected. *combo dinner beef/broccoli. Fiancé liked it a lot. Plenty of food * PO-PO platter appetizer. We ordered because we wanted to try it and also wanted to have left overs for lunch the next day. This item had the most surprising price increase over the old pre-Covid menu of a nearly 50% price jump. It also represents the item that is least worth the money in our opinion. I'd say that even at the old price of $10.00 that it was pushing it for being worth it. Now, you would be foolish to order it at the new price IMPO. The actual meals (the first two items) were good and honestly fairly competitive with the cost everywhere else now. I'm just not sure how I feel about such a big cost increase all at once. Especially since the website is a click bait joke and still has the old menu on it. If it were me; I'd get a real website (a simple cheap one page would work fine), keep an accurate menu on it, I would have phased in the price increases, and definitely drop the po-po platter price back to the old price. Ordered lunch for me and my family. Two Singapore Chow Mein Funs, mild spicy, and one Pork Chow Mein Fun. The Singapore items were as if they dropped a whole bottle of Curry on them and the meat was hard or chewy. Totally uneatable. the Pork dish did not fair much better. We used to love this place. My favorites: I'll either get the Shrimp Szechuan Style, or the Hunan Shrimp. I love their Shrimp Egg Rolls too, they're crispy and delicious! In the past, I've gotten the Krab Rangoon, and the Shrimp and Snow Peas, as well as their Wonton Soup where if I asked, they would add some thin strips of chicken to it for a small upcharge. Everything has always been excellent! They're fast, and the best Chinese take-out around NE Pensacola. Just remember they're not open on Mondays. I learned that the hard way, craving their shrimp egg rolls one Monday evening and stopping by to find them closed, and then ordering from somewhere else, which was a huge disappointment. This is a good place to eat. It is tucked in on 9th and Langley in a strip mall. Pay attention or you may drive right past it! I got the Kung Po chicken and hot and sour soup. Kung po was pretty good. Lots of ingredients. I can see why people think they did not get much meat. The ingredients are chopped smaller than I normally see. That being said there was plenty of chicken in mine. Flavor was decent. Could have used some more seasoning and it was far from spicy. The soup was decent. Kung Pao Chicken...I lived in Communist China for 2 years. Not a good example of Chinese Cuisine. No pork in Pork Fried Rice. Maybe 1 ounce of small pieces of chicken breast meat very finely chopped in the Kung Pao Chicken. Lots of Veggies and Peanuts but very mild seasoning....almost no heat. For a Dinner Combo Plate it was very small by modern Chinese Take Out standards. More like a Lunch Size Meal. Overall a clean restaurant with professional staff with prompt service. The Fish House doesn't have a dollar menu and a spicy chicken sandwich: one star. This place in Ohio won't deliver to me in Florida: one star.
